Here is the actual VW camper van, behind the Escort, the only pic I have. From factory, it had a 2000cc Audi 4 pot laying on a side angle, loads of room when removed for a 5.7 Chevy small block V8 with a TH350 auto... Sadly we could not get a different ratio ring gear for the axle, so huge diameter tyres were sourced to bring the cruising revs down... But it was a blast at the stop light drags, it had a badge on the back, "CHEVYDUB"...????

The CVT is made by Jatco, now part owned by Nissan, Mitsu and Suzuki. Fluid change is determined by type of use, granny shopping, 60,000km, Trans driving, 30,000km, that info is out there. The correct fluid is paramount for longevity. Can't say I have ever been on mountain roads, but the kickdown works OK, and sports mode gets it moving, plus the 2 stage gearing is an improvement on previous offerings..????

My 7 year old Suzuki Celerio has the same CVT box as the Nissan March, The box still operates like new, I think folk worry too much, there are millions of these boxes out there in operation, just change the fluid at advised times. I change it at 30,000km. ????

You can forget the age difference, these two have been an item for about 6 years, he spends time in LOS and Aus, sadly he could not get back here due to Covid, he has just managed to jump through the hoops to return. "They" just want a holiday in Aus together, thats it...????

An Ausy friend thought he was going to fly into BKK in early May, flight booked, meet his Thai GF (45) at swampy, go to Aus Embassy to get her a visa and take her back to Aus for a holiday. I have no idea how the Aus visa system works, or how long one has to wait for the visa. Talking on Messenger has been difficult to get through to the bloke that it may not be that easy, he is 74, she has no money or assets, but I am trying to help the bloke out. So, can someone point out the basic procedures and timescales, so I can try and explain stuff. Thanks in advance..????
