TW have recently added a new "Reason" for sending money to Thailand..... "For Long Term Living" or some similar description... and apparently using this does result in arriving funds being coded as International...  I've just received some funds using this method and will find out tomorrow when I can see whether it was coded correctly....

Last week I went into my TW account and selected my Bangkok Bank account as my primary account for receiving THB.

I then setup a test transfer of $200 and was asked the reason for the transfer. I selected "Funds for long term stay in Thailand" as the reason.

The transfer showed up a couple of days later as an international transfer, no problem.

I have not called or emailed TransferWise.

Thanks for the update. Just out of interest, had you previously contacted TW in the past to request your transfers be routes via their BKKB partnership as a lot of us have done?

I have never called them on the telephone and I have never contacted them by email, if that is what you mean.

I just spent some time looking at my TransferWise account online. I found a place where I could specify Bangkok Bank as my primary recipient of Thai baht, which I did, of course. So I decided to do a test transfer of $200 to see if it would work. As the last step in setting up this test transfer, I was asked the reason why I was transferring the money. There was a drop down box with a dozen or so different reasons that I could choose.

The interesting part was that the last reason on the list was "transfer funds for long term stay in Thailand".

Thailand was the only country listed on the drop down box.

My test transfer is not scheduled to be completed until Aug 6, but this may be a hopeful sign that TransferWise is finally learning how to fix this.

Just as a follow-up to this post, I did receive my TransferWise test transfer today and it did show up in my Bangkok Bank account as an international transfer.

Hopefully, they have got this problem fixed.

Around town 3 of us ride a Scoopi, Figure about 170 Kilo on a 110cc bike.

Aren't you the same guy in another thread that accused the XMax of being fugly?

And now we find out you ride around on a Scoopi?

    That's pretty funny. ????????

I have an NMax and an XMax. Either one would do the job. But there is a lot of difference in the ride between these two bikes.

The XMax is way more heavy-duty, rides smoother, and has a lot more power than the NMax.

Between the two, I would recommend the XMax for the OP to carry that big of a load.

However, the NMax is a much more agile at low speeds.

Both are great bikes. Fugly or not. ????

  6. The Yamaha version of a Wave is called a Spark or Finn.

The Spark/Finn has an actual oil filter element. The Waves have only a screen.

The Spark/Finn can use E85. The Waves can use E20 but not E85.

In the last 4 years, I have bought 3 new Yamahas.

The Yamahas are at least as good quality as the Hondas I bought previously.

And I prefer the handling of the Yamahas.

  7. Today I was successful in entering my 90 day report online using Windows 10 with Chrome browser.

I live in Bueng Kan province and this is the first time I was able to complete the process online.

I was also able to check the status of the report and it shows as pending.

So the system seems to be working fine.

Now whether or not it is approved is another story, but at least the website allows me to try before having to  make a 2 or 3 hour round-trip.
