^^^ Whenever I transfer USD from my US Paypal account to my Thai Paypal account, it shows up in my Thai account as USD. If I go back and check it later, it is still in the same amount of US dollars. There does not seem to be any automatic conversion to baht. Most of my online purchases are from eBay sellers in China and the prices are listed and paid in US dollars with my Thai Paypal account.

I had the same thing happen to me at Beung Kan immigration last December. Except that they had no letter to sign for "next time".

If anyone has successfully taken a motorbike across that bridge, I would love to hear about it.
I've never seen any motorbikes at all go across that bridge. Same with the bridge near Nakhon Phanom.

Go online to your TD Ameritrade account.
Set up transfer to Bangkok Bank New York using their routing number: 026008691
Use your Thai Bangkok Bank account number.
Job done.
No need to call uncooperative clowns on telephone.

Honda SR 400?
Probably easier to find a Yamaha SR 400. They sell them new at the Yamaha shops.

Anyone considering the KLX or Dtracker 125 or 150 should be aware that the 150s are carbed and the 125s are fuel-injected. That's why the 125 costs more.

The US embassy does have an "Outreach" program that travels around Thailand and offers useful services:
