1. Somebody in a previous thread mentioned something about a bar in Soi 33 but thats it. The name of the Thailand distributor is "Tantawan Asia Service Ltd" Anybody know them?

    Jake

Brad McElroy at the Lookie Lookie bar in Sukhumvit 33 is the man you need to see. He is also Tantawan and the BBQ bloke as well as the Bundy importer.

  2. As for fuel consumption: That's indeed not very good. Are you spending enough time in 5th gear? (Preferably: All of the time, also in town as much as possible?) Remember to quickly shift up to as high a gear as possible. That means that also intown you're not getting lower than third gear (when cornering) unless of course there's traffic jams or traffic lights.

He's going to have problems doing that with his automatic transmission.

  3. I personally prefer to turn left at Lampang and go to Phitsanuloke via Den Chai (Phrae) and Uttaradit. It's a bit shorter and a bit more interesting on the bike or in the car with the hills and winding roads.

I've probably done the trip 50 times and I vote with Blinky Bill. You don't have to go into Phitsanulok though - head for a place called Wang Thong east of Pits and continue to Chumpae from there.

I told by a nice person that chiangmai has alot river sand quarries, so i am going to post here too.

Anyway, I am looking for river sand quarries from Thailand for a supply quantity up to 200,000 metric tons. Did anyone know who can supply this and have export license? please pm me your MSN or contact number..

Thank you.
All the transit mix cement companies have their own sand pits. CPAC could handle the quantities you are looking for and also export.

Do you have contact with CPAC? Please PM to me. Thanks
I'm out of the country at the moment. Google should find CPAC (Concrete Products and Aggregate Company). They are part of the Siam Cement group, one of Thailand's largest companies.

  6. [

    Thank You.

    I agree,we will stay put.

Our flights are TG ex-Heathrow into Suvarnabhumi + TG ex Suvaranabhumi into Chiang Rai (only 1 domestic per day)

I thought that we could CIQ/Transit and clear Immigration/Customs in Chiang Rai as per the Thai Web Site ?

    Can anyone confirm ?

You can certainly do this in Chiangmai. I think Chiang Rai is also classed as an international airport so it should be OK.

  7. Does anybody know anywhere in Sakon Nakhon that can make me some windows and stick them in the hole. I'll be blowed if I can find anywhere but with all the new houses being built all around somebody somewhere must be able to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated as the wife gets upset when I wear welly boots in the house.

Are you looking for XP or Vista?

  8. I went to BKK bank at Kad Sean Keew today and with a tourist visa they said something about getting an "Address Referee" (whatever that actually means - I expect a letter stating my address is correct) from my embassy or consulate.

A few months ago (when I first arrived in CM), I asked a song taew driver to take me to the following address which was listed as the australian embassy on a few sites I found from a google search. He had no luck finding the address since there was no soi written there ...

165, Sirimungklajarn Road Tambon Suthep Chiang Mai 50200

    Any help would be great.

    Cheers

I don't think there is an Australian Consulate in Chiangmai anymore, the address you mentioned closed down a couple of years ago. Looks like Bangkok if you really need the Embassy but the banks are usually willing to accept a reference from somebody else. Try a few different banks/branches as they make up the rules as they go along.

  9. ermm I wish I could answer that...but I have no clue :o I know it exist..but usually I just have someone do it for me

however I dont think its firewall etc..seeing that I can upload it on to album of thaivisa, not to mention upload it elsewhere on the net.

plus I have this problem no matter which computer I use..PC, laptops (tried from 2!)

We are still in sync then. I've tried on different computers with different browsers and it is still the same.

  10. My dealer just sent my F1 box to Bangkok for a hardware upgrade to work with the new codes. Anyone else know about this?

Hi If you have a computer and an RS232 cable u should be able to update the F1 Silver Box by yourself, provide you can get your hands on the update software that normally was posted on teh web. I have not been able to find the last update, but if you ask your dealer the web where the update is , you are in business.

    Have fun,

The updates are in the links in messages 251 & 252 in the post before yours

  11. I need to test a small air pump that is supposed to put out 3.5 psi of air pressure. I gather there are in the world gauges of some kind that will measure this. If you have one and wouldn't mind me coming over to use it, or if you know where I might be able to find a gauge that will work, I would be grateful if you could let me know, either on line or in a PM. If anyone thinks to suggest a tire pressure gauge, the answer is no, that will not work; it measures much higher levels of air pressure than the one I have to test.

If you can't find a gauge, could you make a U-tube with plastic hose? You could measure the head of water you can lift with your air pump and convert it back to pressure. Would 3.5 psi = 2.38 m. of water? What accuracy do you require?
