I thought the law in the UK was you can only live in it for 10 months a year.............?

If it on a Holiday Park then there licence is around 9 - 10 months a year..

with a Static Home there is different places    = Private land or 'Residential park' [365 days]  or 'holiday park' [9 - 10 months]

Static Homes are built very different than Holiday homes

  5. Not sure if normal....

Last Friday Dr cut out BP Med's for 14 days, so Thursday last week was the last of BP Med's

Form then went up every day to Wednesday was 190/95  + good with Pulse rate going up every day.

Thursday 167/85  with Pulse 80   this morning 155/84 with Pulse 81...  makes me wonder why I have been subscribed 2 or 3 different High Blood Pressure pills every day for over 30 years  ?

  6. 1. If I install the apps on a spare phone which will never leave my property does it have  to have a sim in it?

    2. If it does - does the sim only have to be in for the set up and installation of the app or does it always have to be in the phone (ie can the app be used over WIFI).

My SCB bank app is on my spare phone

To pay my AIS + Electric + water bills every month simple take the sim out of my everyday Smartphone put in the spare phone  for 10 mins pay bills done

not sure now a day you used to be able to get a 2nd 'Clone' sim card

Another thing to remember is the Bank App will only install on Android 10 or above, so if you have a old smartphone with lower that Android 10 the app will not install

When the top number (systolic) is do high like this but bottom number (duastoluc) normal it is often an indication of some sort of trmporary stress...pain, anxiety etc.  Be sure to tske readings while you are comfortable and at rest

Also make sure the BP cuff is not too small for your arm  as that will falsely elevate readings. Most machines sold in Thailand come with cuffams too small for average farang arm and it is often necessary to separately order n extr large (by Asian standarda) cuff.

If you have only been seen by "diabetes speialist" I sugfest  a consult with a cardiologist.

Many thanks..  yes my arm band is large or maybe that should be my upper arms are not large...

1st thing in the morning sit in chair at table for 7 - 10 mins, then take my BP, as Dr advised years ago take 2 or 3 readings and take the average reading.............  the only other time I will take a reading is if I feel light headed, blurred dizzy later in the day then will check BP  1st, if OK then check the BS reading

No idea if I have seen a cardiologist at anytime , have had a Body MRI 2020. as well as a brain MRI

eg: for Blood pressure  oldest I can find

UK Dr Prescription - May 1999

    Atenolol 50mg 1 x day

    Enalapril  20mg 2 x day

Nothing wrong with Omicron most doctors in the west use them and I find mine very accurate.

Mine is the 2nd one, never a problem in all the years I have had one. mine is the bigger one 4,250 baht....  The Government Hospital has only this make 2 very large Wi Fi ones  + loads of arm in sleeve type, + all the Dr rooms have the small  upper arm strap ones...

Did this doctor tell you how to stop taking this medicine? Did he give you a good reason why you should stop taking it?

Continue taking the medicine and stop your doctor. From your description, he is an idiot.

DO NOT stop taking Prenolol. You have to taper yourself off the medicine. You could induce a heart attack by quitting the med.

    Did you read that?

Did he give you a good reason why you should stop taking it.......

he is she + a Older Diabetic Specialist

Yes the reason is Prenolol reduces the heart rate, so to stop taking for 14 days and see what the readings are... with these new reading can maybe get different med's /dosage

Yesterday 178/90 with pulse rate of 62---- This morning 188/88 with pulse rate of 64

That's exactly what a >>>>>LOL medicine does.  It will bring your resting heart rate down to 50 as it has done for me for more than 20 years.

How is it that you are just learning this now?

As said in my 1st post  "last year Pulse average was 72" [has been around this for years]  it is only now this year that the resting heart rate has dropped to low 50's

Blood pressure should be taken shortly after waking up, after a period of rest.......not after driving to the hospital, having a coffee, seeing some pretty fit nurse, afraid of white coat.

Get yourself an Omicron from Lotus for Bht 2000 or so, an app called Blood Pressure Monitor on your phone and do it yourself, every morning. It will calculate your averages over whatever period of time you want. My hospital accepts these readings from me.

Blood pressure I take at home every morning for past 10 + years, same as FBS for even more years.

Yearly Blood test = NO drink of any kind / No food from 8 pm the evening before

Friend took me by car the 6 km to Hospital.....  seeing some pretty fit nurse  ?? don't go to same hospital as you, most are 45 +    My Blood Pressure readings were taken 6 times over 5 hours at the hospital

My Omron Blood Pressure Monitor was a lot more expensive than that

My hospital for years has accepted my own daily readings and monthly averages, I take a printout every visit

  13. In resent month been all over the place. range between 200/112  to 90/59  + always Pulse below 60.  last year Pulse average was 72 ?

Since 1991 taken 1 x mornings Prenolol 50mg, {Atenolol] cut down to 25 mg 6 months ago   + Evenings 1x Losartan 50 mg + 2mg Dozozin   [UK  NHS website states: Older adults should not usually take dozosin to treat high blood pressure]  ??

Yesterday was my Diabetic yearly Blood work day at Hospital, mostly all fine = A1c 5.9.  CKD down to Stage 2, all other tests perfect

Blood Pressure still a problem, every hour in the waiting room they re took my reading, see Dr then off to get loads of wires attached and a printout,  this was done again after 30 mins.  back to see Dr

163/64  with pulse rate of 53 !!    Dr advised to stop taking Prenolol and appointment to go again in 14 days ?   Why would a BP med I have taken for 32 years suddenly start making my Pulse rate drop ?

Yes i did look into this as apart from the mainboard on my old computer that is the only original part on it and i enjoyed seeing which parts made it a quicker pc.

I did look at the components on the Advice computer for 22k and there was not much difference if i bought these myself and put them together so thought a package deal would be better

Thee days there are always deals around...

Building yourself is much cheaper if you DO NOT want everything new..   when I built my present PC, I only wanted a new Motherboard + CPU + Ram, that was over 11 years ago, since then I bought a New case, SSD drive, new PSU. most resent a new Graphics card..

Looks OK . Good price just need Windows added.........  No idea why they say No VGA as the 5700G has Vega 8 graphics Integrated on the CPU

Never had anything other than AMD going back to the 70's even when I used a laptop it was AMD

  16. Not 100% sure  the problem  see = Windows 11 Home per installed believe is a Single language  only = Thai only

Thailand Windows 11 Home is Single language means you won't be able to change the display language and you could only add new keyboard or language to type but not change the display language of the Windows. You have to upgrade to Windows 11 Multilanguage or Windows 11 Pro.

Some people don't care about their weight health wise

Might encourage some people to lose some weight and not embarrass

    Themselves at the airport ????

Who decides if your over weight  ??

So say I am classed as obese by a  Dr at a Hospital I went to for some years + he was always on about diet...  My present Dr for some years say's I am well built  = height + age and weight = about 8 kg over weight and nothing to worry about...

So which is it ?? I am the same weight now near 73 as I was at 15......

  18. Depends on a number of things.....  Me would not live anywhere but out in the sticks, as I have done all my life in many Countries

back in 2003 found a nice Village and had a house built moved in in 2004......  back then turn off the main road = tarmac for 1 km, the next 6 km was a dirt track, these days it tarmac...  All houses here are detached 2 are 6 bedrooms, 2 are 4 bedrooms and the others are 3 bedrooms... now at almost 73 not likely to ever sell or move

Cheaper ? put it like this about 1 x week go to next Village to have a meal, prices have gone up,  now pay 40 baht..  yesterday a farmers wife came down the Village with her cart - bought big bunch bananas 30 baht,  most Veg at the local market is 3 - 10 baht [most are local farmers so straight from the fields]...  eg: Big Cauliflower 15 baht, 3 big carrots 10 baht...

For a few years now is very easy to do supermarket shopping on-line - comes next day = Tops/ Big C./Lotus's

Within 6 km there are 2 Private Hospitals + 2 Government Hospitals

Across the road one 3 bedroom house is rented out 6,500 baht per month, next Village friend rents 3 bed town house for 4,000 baht month.

Is this a "tell people you can't afford an iPhone without telling people you can't afford an iPhone" kind of statement?

An iPhone alone will not do much different from an Android phone, but as someone who uses many apple gadgets (computer, watch, TV, phone, iPad) they all play very nicely with each other and feel like an extension of one another.   Want to use the high quality camera from your phone as your "webcam", go ahead as it seamlessly uses it.   Want to use the iPad as a second screen for the computer, no problems.  Left your phone elsewhere in the house and want to pick up that call on the computer, no problems.  My gf uses an android phone and an iPad and even getting photos from one to another is a traumatic experience for her.

Switching to the best and most expensive Android phone available would be a huge downgrade, for me at least.

most expensive Android phone available  I notice  is the Z flip Galaxy @ 59,900 baht at AIS  but at Samsung Thailand  online Galaxy Z Fold ฿65- ฿75,900.00   ??

My Vivo 3,200 baht phone is over 4 years old and has been perfect until about a month ago, could not  hear anything . only with the speaker on, then the beep sound for messages stopped, last weekend the speaker started missing words = went to the shop.....  They had a number of brand new phones which had not sold in the back room.....  So went with the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro, they unpacked it and undated it so is on Android 10 + transferred everything from the old phone = total cost 2,499 baht..

Always worth asking it the have any unsold phones and get a deal

The tooth was a little loose. It didn't come out quietly though. And I gave it a little clean for the pic.

A back tooth that I pulled a couple of years ago was much tougher. It's documented here on AN. That was a right sod. Twine kept slipping off. Had to do a little groove. Even with the groove, I had to use the double twist knot, from me carp fishing days, to get a good hold. But it saved me at least a 1000 baht.

This 'self-extraction' isn't for everyone. But it saves a lot of hassle and is all over in a few seconds. A word of advice/warning for any would be self-extractors out there. Do not use wire. It is very unforgiving and if you lasso the tooth badly can rip out a good part of yer gum. So use twine, it doesn't cut through flesh like wire.

On the other hand. If you have plenty of money and time; go see a dentist.

    .

Will use the dentist, filling dropped out of the back upper tooth earlier this year. Government Local Hospital said no good must come out > 2 injections > tooth pulled > total bill 328 baht...

  23. Everyone is different + what they eat effects Blood Sugar, there is NO one Diabetic Diet fits all

I did not have Pre Diabetes, when I 1st went to the Dr in UK my reading was 32.6  here that is around 600 mg/dl

Went to one Diabetic class, teacher stated drinks all you want of Diet drinks !!!

I followed what was advised years ago,  take your blood finger prick test before eating every meal then again 2 hours after eating, after 6 months or so you know what food spikes your blood sugar, so can reduce that item or cut it out all together..  some things I can eat where others will spike + the other way round

As for Diet Cola/Pepsi drinks not had for years, same with added salt + reduced Red Meat to 1 x week...  2015 was at Stage 5 CKD, told by the Dr try cutting these out, or go on Dialyses, no way so cut them out, past 6 years been just under Stage 3 CKD

I am pre-diabetic and try to completely avoid sugar in my diet. Restaurants here in Pattaya make that difficult.

One high-profile Norwegian restaurant uses sweetened condensed milk in their scrambled eggs. Another popular

restaurant, owned by an Australian, sprinkles sugar on French Fries. You can’t reason with them because they deny

using sugar in their recipes. Has anyone else noticed this???

Think you need to read up on Diabetes

I am from England Diabetic over 35 years, so tend to read up on the NHS websites

    https://www.diabetes.org.uk/guide-to-diabetes/enjoy-food/eating-with-diabetes/food-groups/sugar-and-diabetes#:~:text=You don't need to,diabetes is a bit complicated.

Can diabetics eat food with sugar?

You don't need to cut out sugar from your diet if you have diabetes

Diabetic hypoglycemia occurs when someone with diabetes doesn't have enough sugar (glucose) in his or her blood. Glucose is the main source of fuel for the body and brain, so you can't function well if you don't have enough

sprinkles sugar on French Fries = No but then as I have CKD [kidney problem] I do not sprinkles Salt on French Fries ether
