  1. I thought the huge looming shadow to be a reference to Prawit.
  2. She was a nurse. I could have but wouldn't. Neither of us expected the cop to remain obdurate.
  3. Nurse S-i-L had her car stolen. Culprit was captured by family members. I drove them to Dong Tan cop shop; fat sergeant refused to act until payment of 10K. Nurse paid a bank loan for 4 years despite not having a car. Female culprit had done this twice before.
  4. Cambodia would take them.
  5. The three maskless stooges above do not know what they are going to get when the Yellow Peril sweeps in.
  6. Just spent 8 days in Chaweng; it was bursting at the seams; cannabis shops open all over; taxi mafia minting money hand-over-fist. Never saw one cop.
  7. Don't let them in. Two stayed at my hotel. I left my daughter guarding my sun lounger whilst I went to eat. They commandeered it but promised to leave when I returned. During my absence they drank two bottles of beer (next to the pool!); smoked four cigarettes which they stubbed out on the floor & left there; used a vaping contraption then left leaving their towels for someone to clear up.
  8. Then Taiwanese tourists were extorted? Hmn.
  9. Prayuth - the Ghost of Xmas Past.
  10. It's either genetic or a requirement for the job.
  11. The place is a mess. The website is almost all Thai. My daughter got more information from UK than I was able to in Thailand. As in almost all walks of Thai society, emails in English are never answered. Just back from a Bangkok airways flight to Samui. I remember when they had a lounge and free coffee, now it's a shabby mosquito ridden dump. Unfinished paintwork, exposed plaster and, here's the perfect welcome to Thailand for all INTERNATIONAL travellers; if you want a drink you have to have PromptPay on your phone! The carpark was roomy, some of it in shade; the long stay carpark rates for eight days was the equivalent of two taxi journeys tho' I had to wake the guy up to pay.
  12. Another triumph for Pattaya Plod; moving the pole saves setting up road blocks.
  13. The assassins have been deprived of targets for two years.
  14. the numbers at the trough.
  15. 500 baht fine and start again next week.
  16. They think they do. The Indian restaurant at the top of soi 6 objected to me parking there (whilst I was doing research for my new book). Likewise I had an altercation with a vet opposite Tops on Kao Noi; there are videos of him on Youtube. I've had a piece of wood with a protruding nail placed under my wheel for parking on 2nd road.
  17. according to their version of the law.
  18. Same same in every Immigration office; police station; tessabaan; post office.
  19. Who has the most tanks to remove him?
  20. My daughter & husband, having been cooped up for two years flew in. They, and their Facebook friends, will not be back after the Samui taxi mafia bled them dry for eight days; a 4 kilometre journey was 200 baht; a five minute trip to the airport 300! She and I was also short-changed 500 at a restaurant and the police were disinterested.
  21. Wasn't Pinocchio's brother, who sired this brat, also suspect but escaped scrutiny?
  22. The BP reported that the police asked to see her passport which she did not have with her. They then pronounced her 'Visa on Arrival was not acceptable, only a proper stamped visa.' Where was this VOA if not in her passport?
  23. If they used this money to subsidise the taxi cartel which undermines TAT's efforts every minute of every day, they might attract more tourists. I'm just back from Chaweng, Samui where a four kilometre journey was always a minimum 200 baht. The journey to the airport lasted five minutes and was a 300 fixed fare. I've crossed both Phuket and now Samui off my list of where to spend my frozen pension. I've had cheaper journeys in central London.
  24. Perhaps he was already a draft dodger?
