  1. Thanks for this; No wonder (farang) prized raw materials are in short supply or horribly expensive! 'Thailand's domestic raw milk supply is insufficient to meet the country's demand,' 'In terms of exports, Thailand's main dairy exports are pasteurized and ultra-high temperature (UHT) milk, condensed milk, evaporated milk, ice cream, drinking yogurt, yogurt and butter' ' majority of Thailand's dairy exports are produced from imported dairy products,'
  2. Moi aussi. I noted a number of ATM withdrawals from places I'd never visited (like Sattahip.) This only came to light when I asked the bank to provide me with the locations of the machines. They said I must have given my PIN to my GF despite her being with me 24/7 & being unable to drive. Only the bank & I knew my PIN. I never got any money back either.
  3. Presumably after loading the bike onto the car? (Pick-up?) Pattaya Plod are on the job and expected an arrest from their list of 1,324,408 suspects living locally.
  4. by taxing foreign pensioners.
  5. I admit I've not bought milk in the UK for years. I remember seeing cream on the top few inches (till they introduced 'white water' for the Health conscious). I have never seen this in Thailand nor any significant herds of dairy cattle (merely scrawny, sad-eyed beasts in Issaan. I was under the impression the milk was re-constituted powder imported from Malaysia. This might explain the ludicrously high price of cheese & other dairy products?
  6. This case surfaced nearly SEVEN MONTHS AGO! RTP - The Untouchables.
  7. It was addressed by a PM soundbite; more years of inaction to follow. The lack of any police activity also helps. Like speeding, this crime should be one of the easiest to eradicate without CCTV: a plume of smoke, visible for miles, should bring Plod to the spot within minutes. It NEVER does.
  8. Last year on this most Holy day in the Thai calendar, my (Swedish) noisy neighbours were raided by the police at 3am for drunken carousing.
  9. At 32 baht a minute they are laughing all the way to the bank!
  10. Stands to reason; he was intoxicated and not wearing a shirt: it's obviously a Brit.
  11. Then you can't live in Pattaya; you will not see a single cop after 3pm or before 10am on any weekday: not all at weekends which last from Friday morning till late Monday; or on numerous public holidays. You might catch a glimpse of some on Walking Street outside of these times IF there are cameras about.
  12. Rest assured this duo will get to the bottom of it.
  13. Thaksin's appointment book is full at the moment; Srettha will have to join the queue behind the other brown-nosers.
  14. A new soi is shortly to be opened near me complete with the statutory mosquito-breeding chambers every 10 metres in the name of drainage.
  15. I put it down to the new PM's measures put in place a week ago.
  16. I get over 10K a month but my frugality is reflected in my refusal to buy: wine despite the alleged lower taxation on it; cheese; roll-on deodorants; shaving foam.
  17. Can a country ever be classed as a democracy when votes are up for sale in every village?
  18. Support this wholeheartedly. A plentiful supply of lion fodder in my area. It should keep the disease-spreading, defecation/urination down amongst the prissy mask-wearing Thai 'owners'.
  19. My (ex) S-i-L lost the use of a police car as he was not sending enough baht upstairs.
  20. Betting on snooker games is big business. Look at the Chinese stars who have been banned from prestigious tournaments round the world. The law of probability suggests Thailand Snooker will be riddled with it: EVERY other walk of life is!
  21. The photo shows RTP browsing their weekend viewing.
