Well not on here. I think it's appalling you are not allowed an opinion without being sued by ANY Thai company for expressing it (if it's negative). Remember TripAdvisor issuing a caveat after the Koh Chang debacle?
How would everyone expressing an opinion on AseanNow feel if their contribution was met by a legal summons?
Thailand - the land of suers/sewers.
Wearing a white T-shirt does not make you high-visibility. A few in police uniforms during the DAY might deter the criminal element.
Pie-in-the-sky, I know, as Pattaya only has six uniforms.
I did the same nearly 20 years ago. Now I am back being an older member of Gen Rent as a farang here cannot own his own house/land & a Thai court stripped me of 75% + costing me a similar amount in legal fees.
I've been here nearly 20 years and seen no signs of 'move forward' except when the authorities try to besmirch the political party of the same name. Every year I get 'Dé·jà vu' as the annual cycle continues: flood/drought; corrupt politicians/police; and in possible times of progress a coup d'état by the army to deny democracy.
