  1. Good luck mate, I rang them just over two weeks wnen it had not come back, they said it might take two months. When I rang after two months went by they told me I should have gone to the office with passport and ems receipt after TWO WEKEKS, shambles. They do tell me not to bother getting a police report that it is lost, but whats the betting next time I go thye WILL ask for a report and send me off to the police station. By post is too much trouble, seems it will get lost at some time.

Cannot find the post right now but there is at least one experience that the EMS receipt of sending the TM 47 was accepted as proof of a 90 day report instead of the proper slip which didn't arrive. That was at Bangkok Immigration. Additionally you can use the EMS tracking feature and print out proof that the report arrived at Immigration. Why police report? You didn't loose it, so it's not your problem.

As an aside, they even show a video in English in the 90 day office at Bangkok Immigration explaining exactly how to do report by mail. So it's not like some obscure option.

  2. Send the mail before the renewal date 7 days

I read that as a minimum time rather than a set time. Believe they want it to get to them by the due date and give 7 days before to allow that. Do not believe they mind it being sent a few days earlier.

The change reported was for in person reporting in that the window is now 15 days before to 7 days after.

I was referring to this post:

A friend of mine did his 90 day report by post to Bangkok Immigration recently, and when they returned the slip, there was a note saying he should do it 10 days in advance in future.

    I didn't get that note.

  3. 90 day report sent on April 4, 7 days before the due date, by EMS with appropriate documents including return envelope stamped with 10 Baht. Received the slip back today April 20. Return envelope was stamped April 18. Passport copies were returned and a blank TM 47 included. Contrary to some posts here there was no notice that the report could be sent earlier than 7 days before the due date.

  4. He was much better than I expected. I found his playing more than up to his high standards. I was glued to my seat all the time. The acoustic version of "Layla" introduced on his comeback album "Unplugged" was, if anything, more successful than the original version which really needed the brother guitar of Duane Allman. "Badge" and "Little Queen of Spades" were nothing short of amazing. Long may he rock!

  5. You just have to love how the foreign press distorts what's going on here. From Welt Online:

    Tausende Rothemden demonstrieren in Bangkok

Not being a native German speaker, and if you are please correct me if I'm wrong, but what's it's saying loosely is that around 30,000 government opposition demonstrators crippled the Thai capitol today. The so-called Redshirts grouped in the capital today and were reminiscent of the violent end of their week-long protest [oh, it was only for a week???] on 19 May 2010. ...and so on. So did today's rally remind you of the Redshirt's "violent ending"? Come on Die Welt, this is sensational and inaccurate journalism at its worst.

Please forgive me if I didn't get that accurately, German speakers!

    Here's the translation for you:

Thousands of redshirts demonstrate in Bangkok

Bangkok (dpa) - Around 30,000 anti-government protesters demonstrated in Bangkok and partially crippled the Thai capital. The so-called redshirts gathered downtown and remembered the violent end of their weeks-long protest on 19 May 2010. They demanded the release of their leaders who were arrested at that time. The movement "United Front for Democracy and against Dictatorship" is close to ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra who was disposed in 2006.

Not quite what you thought it said. That said, Die Welt is not a newspaper known for their impartial reporting.

  6. The Airport Link is hardly "connected to the Bangkok Metro Blue Line subway". The closest entrances of the stations are about a 400 m walk apart and walking involves crossing a street. Not feasible with some luggage. I don't see an easy solution for this either. I prefer to use the City Link from Phayathai station even though it's farther from my home. One passenger permanently lost for the express

  7. A five second Google search turned up this site that might just do the job for you.

    Thanks for the information.:jap:

However I tried it several times using several different images and each time I got the result:

    เกิดข้อผิดพลาดขึ้นกรุณาลองใหม่อีกครั้ง

    in English:

There was an error, please try again :(

    Not very helpful. :whistling:

Make sure that the picture file has a resolution of 300 dpi, otherwise it won't work.

  8. Another quick correction, while our site Cert does allow us to offer 256 Bit encryption, we need to change something on the servers to allow it to take effect. I need to check with the product group to see if and when they want to activate. It will at best be in the next release (we work on a release schedule). At this time 128 Bit is still considered to be highly secure and pretty much impossible to break (statistically improbable) but 256 bit is 1 trillion times stronger. So I will get back to you with more details later.

Thanks for the update. Please make sure everything works on Firefox. I absolutely refuse to use IE.
