  1. Fine centre forward who never seemed to score simple tap ins. Sunday morning league player too.

The trio at WBA were a joy to watch, Regis, Baston, Cunningham, all while being subjected to immense racism at certain grounds. Heard Cyrille on a tribute programme talking about 10000 singing "clean my boots n****r" and throwing bananas on the pitch. None would be brave enough to say it to his face.

  2. I have Nexen road tyres on my Vigo, wanted less road noise, they appear to be softer, plus a good wet weather tyre. Have 73K km on them and need replacing now. My local tyre shop, one of those Mobil places always told me to not go on kms but years on the vehicle, change about every four years. They probably mean for the average motorist and not Somchai who guns down to Bangkok 7 days a week hauling cabbages.

    German "puppet masters".

    Oh dear.

One thing I truly underestimated when I started following various brexit threads, is the deep rooted racist hatred of some ancient Brits against the Germans.

That same feeling existed in most of Europe  when I was young, but as Europeans became more educated and more intelligent, that hatred slowly disappeared.

I remember hitch hiking in Norway in the 70's, with my big Belgian flag on my backpack. Not very successful - until a Norwegian advised me to remove the Belgian flag, as many Norwegians mistook it for the German flag. Nowadays many Norwegians in tourist areas speak German - in 40 years time the Nordmenn evolved, unlike some isolated islanders accross the Strait of Calais. I bet "German jokes" are still very popular over there.

Of course they are buddy, why are there so many tree lined avenues in continental Europe?, because the German army likes to march in the shade. They passed through your country twice. Less of the isolated nonsense too, there are 65 mil + and we were always taught foreigners begin at Calais.

    Thatcher, or Jim Davidson?

Sorry Evadgib, but the 'application form' is very simple, and the letter is a template where they just fill in names and figures. And the British Embassy should not have incompetant staff, especially when we/you pay 52 quid for the letter.

Well you would like to think so, but I remember when you could visit the embassy to get your income letter and just about every year my letter indicating Phetchaburi instead of Phetchabun. This despite gently reminding at the counter.

The hilux mentioned is manufactured in South Africa not Thailand

I have not heard of any injector problems with Thai made Hilux's

It does not surprise me that the D max is number one though

Both Revo and D Max are very reliable vehicles and are the highest selling pickups in Thailand

The Revo  has two completely new engines so a bit early to comment on long term reliability. The D4D engines had some fuel injector problems. Toyota now offer an injector cleaning service , just had it done on my seven year Hilux, 1900B on top of the 6 month service interval. Before that our local Toyota dealer always gave you a bottle of fuel injector cleaner.

I assume that snowyriver had that letter translated in Thai otherwise it will likely go unread.

As for Johnny Borangs restaurant in soi 1 ......do you mean the International bar ?

JB spends most of his time in the Swiss blokes place, he doesn't own it. Never heard it called the International bar. Popular with the Wichian Buri crowd, ones BS detector must be highly tuned. Mention immigration issues and most likely you will be thrown out on your ar*e.
