  1. I would go speak to Johnny Borang, he is the big shot farang near you, just look for his mansion. His wife is Mrs big shot , represents several villages in the area. Check if you actually come under WB amphur for maintenance issues, the Tessabaan in Phu Toei looks after several villages around you.

Johnny B slurps at the Swiss blokes restaurant in WB town, Soi 1.

Rumour has it, the cocky colonel has already accepted the long-vacant post of Minister for Internal Affairs and Human Security. Meanwhile everyone thinks the poor guy's got his cummupence for doing what his bosses wanted . . . what a bunch of junta Judases - and the real sweetener is that they'll think this little announcement is making them look good. They are just so far off the boil, this shower.

Well, if they can lie, so can I!

PS Their synchronised pointing is pretty good, though; I'll give 'em that. And that dude's pretty brave, wearing a Klopp shirt, after Sunday's rout at WH Lane

Good post, but you should take the trouble to find out where the Spuds are playing their home games this season.

  3. Look for test centre with this sign, they will do the test,  The one I use will sell you the compulsory insurance and tax the vehicle for you. Our local PLTO sell the insurance at desk just before the tax renewal counter, alternatively, 7/11's sell it too, used to be a funny advert on Thai TV about how to do it.

My truck, two mo-cys are over seven yo, do it myself, no real issues unless the test place find fault with the inspection.

Obviously you haven’t owned a ford. There’s a reason the Ford F150 is the top selling vehicle of all kinds in the states. If you’re an outdoorsman, building a house, etc the fords are on the road years and years after the Japanese pickups. They are great the first few years but not built fir heavy use or the long haul.

Well thankfully this is not the land of the Donald and farmers are running 20yo plus trucks here, not to mention the fruit and veg daily runners to Bangkok. Mainly all Isuzu's and Toyota's.

Toyota pickup trucks sold in thailand are made in Thailand not Japan

They are indeed, at the Ban Po plant , I have driven past it many times. Do you think I am stupid ,made this tale up and either my wife, it was in her name or myself not question it when we went to pick up the 5K Baht.

You appear to be the Toyota know it all on here, why do you think they cancelled the order?

  6. In Dec 2010 I ordered new pickup truck from local Toyota dealer and give 5000 Baht to secure order. Later in March 2011 the dealer informs the truck not coming, stating tsunami in Japan cause big probs,  come to dealer and get your money back.

Late June 2011 dealer phones and says your truck come on transporter last night come and get.

    Still have the truck.

Just carry my pink ID card and my drivers license. Fly around in thailand, show id for hotel bookings, get stopped by traffic cops, never needed anything else. Never carry my passport with me... absolutely not needed for any purpose when you have the pink ID

Funny thing happened when I wanted to buy a new sim card, prepaid for my son. Could not do at the sales counter at the AIS shop but had to go to their 'regular' shop in the same mall if I wanted to use the pink ID...Only time I was asked to produce my passport and I still think it was the unfamiliarity of the sales lady rather than the ID itself that was confusing....

Does this ID card have details of your current immigration status?, I ask as when booking in at a Bangkok hotel last week the reception staff commented " you stay Thailand long time", when looking at my entry stamp, TM6 and current permission to stay date in my passport which they asked for.

I am lucky i live in a province where it was easy to get yellow tabien baan and all authorities (exempt immigration who luckily dont need to see it)

Accept the book and or the ID card readily. Ive used the ID card all over Thailand with no problems at all for hotels and internal flights and phone contract with Dtac  in my banks. I have had the yellow book translated and notorized by the British Embassy, and have used it as part of a range of papers for matters arising in my birth country UK. I have no idea how much a COR is at KK immigration but if i say 200bht then over the time ive had the book i estimate to have saved 3000bht in COR fee's alone.

So is it worth it YES

Impressive stuff, well just to counter that, this year I have renewed Brit passport, purchased air tickets, renewed 5 year DL for third time, opened BK Bank fixed savings account, approx 3K km driving holiday in the south of Thailand with wife, staying in several guest houses/hotels, being stopped at umpteen Police/Army check points for ID, Passport, DL, where you going/to BS.

If you are legally married to a Thai you can get an address certificate at the Tessabaan free. In 15 years here never had an Imm COR.

    Q. yellow book worth it,      up to you.

What on earth is the Post Office's interest in this?
Oh yes, they flog foreign currency and travel insurance...

It would be better if they put the effort into ensuring a half decent mail service between the two countries...

I often refer to our small town post office as Bermuda triangle due to many items going AWOL, this week my online ordered train tickets arrived from UK within 6 days. It did cost a £10 fee but kudos to both Post Offices.
