  3. There is a Pattaya 2 in Khon Kan but its nothing like the real Pattaya ,, just a few locals at New year and song kran . selling food and drink , and rubber rings for the kids to swim in the lake with, the lake is huge ,but the area for locals is the size of a large car park,,

  4. Hmmm , hoped there would be more people to give some advice .

So what i have to do is go to the airport , pay the fine there , fly to Penang to get a new stamp and then fly back ?

Thought it would be more complicated then that .

    Ok then , thx everyone

Yep thats it as long as you don't get caught before getting to Airport

The reason that thier are no more posts is because Lopburi 3's post is correct there is nothing more to add really

  6. Take a bag full of set mouse traps and have some fun

    Watch out

This also happens alot at KFC Planthip because the thiefs can walk in from the plaza snatch a bag and then walk out another door straight onto a moterbike.

  9. Not sure on the budget beers (Leo, Change etc), but Singha beer went up 80 Baht/carton of small bottles.

    That's over 3 Baht/small bottle.

The premium beers (Heineken, San Miguel Light) have not yet raised the prices...

That's an effective raise of over 10%!

    Apparently cigarettes will go up a whopping 160 Baht for a carton of Marlboro's, 16 Baht/pack :)

L&M have jumped from 49 baht to 60baht and one shop near me are charging 65 baht

  10. My best story I heard was

An old American guy reckons he was at Area 51 and was orderd to destroyed an Alien Teleport system.

and that the aliens live on the dark side of the Moon. and are in league with major leaders on Earth, he went on to explain that there are no Natural Disasters just culls by the space men.

  11. I asked the wife as she has eye problems and she grew up on the farm.

She told me that many people get dry eyes (tear ducts blocked) due to when they harvest the rice and burn the fields

And has had a simple test at the Hospital to measure the amount of tears produced per eye took about 5 mins.

Her result was one eye is very dry so she needs to use an eye gel (something like false tears ) when its dusty'

and costs 58 baht a tube (Watsons )

  12. From what I know alot of people in Issan suffer from sore red eyes ,

Mainly due to the dust and crap when farming rice.

As for goverment hospitals everytime my wife has needed someting done as long as you have the cash ,thier is never along waiting list.

Birth of our son CZ birth 2 days hospital all the fees 12,000 baht ,

And as i posted above you can go to the cash desk and get a price list then go to the booking in nurse and choose how much you want to pay for a room.

here near me an open ward 6 beds 400 baht anight going upto 1,200 for a VIP room

  14. Hi all

Ok I have a Thai friend who gets a monthly a cheque from the social security office in the states for her son he has duel nationality, she has moved and needs to inform them of change of address.

How can she do this ?

Does she contact them in the states or can she do it Through the American Embassey In Bangkok.

And I would think she would have to show some ID.

Has anybody got any Info please

    Many Thanks

First her check should be going directly to a bank account. That should remain the same to avoid problems.

Secondly, if she has a SSN she should be able to sign up on line with SS. She can do a change of address on line. But the change of address notice will go to her old address also. That's to prevent fraud. There is an 800 number she can call. It would also mail a letter directly to them with both old and new information.

    http://www.ssa.gov/onlineservices/

    Thanks Mrjih

Her check is not payed into a Thai bank Direct they send it By mail each month and she then pays it into her bank here , So That would be good if she signs up online and if they could pay it direct into her Thai bank that would help her out.

Thanks for the link as well
