Hi guys, just a quick question. I can't help but notice around Bangkok that gold and money are easily found in temples. I thought Buddhism was about abstinence and the removal of desire, so why is both money and gold of such importance in the temples I see in Bangkok. Do temples like to show their wealth? I would have thought your average temple would look more austere than the ones I see.

Well, I am about 3 months in and not using any anti-virus, firewall or anything at all and its all good. Suspect I don't really need them.

Could someone tell me if the border crossing to Poipet is open now? If so is it correct that the visa for Cambodia has suddenly increased? I am being told this but cannot find any evidence. I believe it has gone from $25 to $35.

Even if it did fall down, it will still attract certain types. As long as it remains a haven for foreigners, there's not likely to be too much change no matter what buildings are left standing.

No sympathy. More to the point, what sort of country did he think Thailand is? Presumably the sort where you can just roll up and do what the hell you like. If so he's not the first and not the last also.

But correct me if I am wrong, viruses and all things with malicious script are written for windows systems, and it's a very high percentage. Like 99% or something. Windows is the target almost always?

Yeah that's what I thought. I would go mad if I lost 1k, not 100k and on many times. Sounds very wrong, maybe she just forgot it was her.

Well that's what I thought, hence the reason that I asked. I just assmued Linux itself wasn't yet popular enough for anyone to bother making viruses. I don't know what percentage of computer users use Linux but I would expect it to be very low and less than 1%. If I were writing viruses, there would seem no point in targeting Linux because there is so little to gain. Good to hear some Linux users don't use either. I think I would have already had a problem if I did need them and there has been no such things bad happen at all.
