  1. Would someone care to suggest which is faster, bus or train. I checked it out. On the websites it says bus 5. 20 mins, for train 5 h 40 mins. Sound right? I don't remember the train being that fast but its a long time since I took it
  2. Could someone please tell me when the buses from Mho Chit Mai start going to Aranya Prathet in the morning please. How long do they usually take?
  3. Yes, I know but I was looking for something phrasal or slang based.
  4. Ok apologies but the 'thai language' section has far too many people saying just use google, and its bloody annoying because google is not very reliable, particularly when it comes to phrasal verbs and complex language, in fact its best avoided. I assumed that was obvious.
  5. No because my background is linguistics.
  6. There is no such thing as proper English as a classification.
  7. Excuse me, this thread was posted for those who can provide an answer and not for those who can't Do you understand that? I don't need the likes of you telling me to go look at google.
  8. How do we say 'to knock someone back' in Thai. I mean let's say you make an offer and someone rejects or refuses it. Or if more to the point I want to make, or rather closer to the context it will be inserted into, if you ask someone out of a date and they say no. I'm sure there is a phrase in Thai for it but I don't know what it is hence the post. I can find out what 'reject' and 'refuse' mean so please don't post saying that there must be something phrasal or slang based that is used, that's what I am after. Thanks for help offered. Anything I discover I shall post.
  9. Like I said, never ordered one at that time and where we live makes it impossible to get one unless I walk about 3kms.
  10. oh, that might explain why it isn't working then.
  11. Thanks, will take another look
  12. Just updated it as well. I downloaded Uber and saw that does have an advance booking option but so far it crashes every time I try to use it.
  13. Thanks but we must have a different version. In the 'where to' box it doesn't say now and there is no drop down menu. It does say 'Add a stop' but when I do that it just goes to ordering for now and doesn't give any other options.
  14. I can't find the advance booking option. How do I get to it? Where is it?
  15. Never had a problem with them once.
  16. thanks, I'll look into that advance booking option on Grab. Didn't see it before.
  17. Hi there guys, we often use apps like Bolt, Grab and Uber to order a taxi because we live so far into an area of Laksi it is absolutely impossible for us to get one unless we walk 3kms to the nearest major road. This weekend we are going to have to order one between 5 am and 6 am. It's the first time I've tried to order a taxi so early in the morning and wondered if its even possible? I have to be at the train station for 06,30 and have to book online. Is it a problem using these apps at that time, do they have drivers available then?
  18. Well, this will certainly help. The sticking point is we went back to the immigration and they confirmed that the want a paper-based apostille but said nothing about if it needed to be legalized my the Thai Embassy, they didn't seem to know. Is this normally the done thing here? Would they accept an apostille that hasn't been legalized by the thai embassy? Have you done this yourself?
  19. It should be a damn site easier than what it is, as some people have posted it looks like documents have to go back to the uk, then when they come back I have to send them off to the thai embassy in london. Awaiting confirmation. It would appear much depends on which province you are in with Bangkok being the strictest it seems.
  20. I think those bikes are for kids. What sensible adult would want to ride one of them?
  21. Are you satisfied with it enough and glad you bought it?
  22. Thanks, that's much appreciated. Bianchi certainly is a better brand. I will try to find it on facebook and get back to you if I can't.
  23. Thanks, I've gone and bought cheap before and regretted it as I use my bike a lot, that's the issue in play. If it were just for occasional use, I wouldn't really care but because I know I will be getting my use out of it I might need to pay a bit more than I was hoping to.
  24. How much of a difference is there between your Giant and your Trek? Is the issue with the frame?
  25. ok, thanks for the input 300km on a mountian bike is quite a ride.
