  1. Hey all

I've been working on my site the last couple of days, hosted by hostmonster. As I work on it in dreamweaver, and preview it, everything looks fine, so i upload it. At work I can see the changes I have made, and at my friend's house too. However, my three coms at home (all plugged into my True wireless connection) will not refresh to the current page. If I go to a proxy anonymous server, I can see the changes. I did all of the cache flushes etc, and have tried it at home on firefox, chore, and IE, but it refuses to show the updated page.

Seems that it is a problem with the ISP? I'm not sure, but that seems fairly logical to me. I did try unplugging my router but got the same result afterwards....any ideas?

    Thanks!

  2. Hi There

I've been taking Milk thistle the past several days and I really feel its positive effect.

In my research I have seen another supplement touted that is supposed to go along well with flushing the liver, and from what I gather is good to take alongside Milk Thistle. It is called SAM-E, with the various chemical names:

    *S-Adensyl Methionine

    *L-Methionine

    *Adomet

    *Ademethionine

When I was at Foodland last night I dropped by their pharmacy and asked if they had SAM-E, the pharmacist gave me Aldomet, and said it was the same as Adomet. I should have looked it up on the internet by my phone first, but being that she is the pharmacist and the name was similar I figured it must be a Thai offshoot of Adomet. It wasn't expensive (39 Baht for a foil of 6) so I picked up a couple foils.

Getting home I looked up Aldomet and IT IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from Adomet. Aldomet is for treating hypertension and high blood pressure, not at all what Adomet or SAM-E is for. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the pharmacist would make a mistake like that here in Thailand but still that's quite a dangerous flub if you ask me. I'm going to have a small talk with her next time I go in to Foodland. After showing her all the chemical names I would think she would do better than that.

So I'm going to ask you guys out there if you have heard of SAM-E, and if so have you seen it for sale here in LOS?

    T

  3. Failing that is it possible to get a similar program in Thailand?

Reason is a really good synthesizer/recording studio/ effects package.

Any help / advice appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi there,

Panthip, Fortune Town, Zeer, Fashion Island, all will have copies of the latest version of Reason (I'm using v. 4). Not only that, but you can also buy virtually any sound pack you are looking for. Expect the DVD disks to be 200 Baht a pop (I think v4 came on 2 DVDs...400 Baht).

Look around, there will probably only be one or two places selling DAW software, but that place will have EVERYTHING!

I too love Reason! The Best!

  4. Hey All

I use Propellerhead Reason for the most part, and when ready export tracks or mixes over to Sonar to add the live stuff. If I am feeling industrious I will rex some of my wavs and send them to mix up in Reason. I really want to get into Ableton, but every time I load it up I lose interest for some reason....but so many people like it. I guess my original sequencer was Reason and I love tweaking the synths and all, infinite possibilities! Can't use VSTs or get audio into Reason, but still I love it despite.

At Fashion Island, third floor there is a IT center and one guy there sells loads and loads of samples, programs, etc. I pick some new stuff up once in awhile, but mainly really like my good piano, strings, and drum kit DVDs I got. I got some good weird ambient Reason packs there that are fun to set up when I need some oceanic pad, but really usually keep things rather basic in the end for my little songs.

I love writing and playing music (guitar, piano, sax), and having a studio in my notebook is just the coolest thing imaginable. When the work day is done, there is nothing like getting a little bit oblong and messing with my music.

  5. I've used it an awful lot the last couple weeks, it does work very well. At work, I have a certain set of pages to open, and it does a good job on that old computer.

However, I still jones for my add-ons with FF, so at home generally use that instead of Chrome. Can't wait til they open it up to add ons and such, then it will really kick a$$!

  6. Another vote for Acronis from me....Last year my NB crashed and I lost quite a bit of data, since then I have made and kept a regularly updated ghost of C. Have had to restore twice since then, and has worked fabulously.

Oh, and I keep my ghost on an external hard drive....I want it completely separate from my com.

  7. I think there is a big difference between trying to bring down a gov't and trying to bring down an entire country.

I say they kick everyone out of government over, say, 45 years old. Just an experiment. see what happens.

Quite easy to see the point that you are getting at. Just a shame for that "new generation" of politicians, Mummy and Daddy are likely to be the "Old generation of politicians.

Do you want this guy as the next new PM?

    Like father, like son.

Yes, you have a point there for sure.....hmmm, I need to work out my criterion for who will be electable in my dream Thai parliament! :o

I just wish there was at least one of these leading men that I liked.

In '92 when I moved here I thought Chamlong was cool. Now I think he is a creep. Piggie, Sondhi, and KFC are all loud and conceited. I like the democrats for the most part, they seem fairly respectable, but I probably just don't know enough about them.

Politics anywhere tire me quickly.....here I am exasperated! But at least there is never a dull moment! Beats sleeping through the US Democratic National Convention!

  8. I think there is a big difference between trying to bring down a gov't and trying to bring down an entire country.

And when would PAD be happy? If new elections were called tomorrow and PPP won again, would they continue their protests? I read before that the PAD feel that 70% of the government should be appointed, by whom I can't remember, maybe the military. Not much of a democracy it seems. Of course vote buying on a massive scale is not democracy either.

    Such a mess.
