  1. PAD take away official documents senior official

The People's Alliance for Democracy seized all the documents involving hiring, procurement and purchase of government projects kept inside the Government, PM's Office Permanent Secretary Chulayuth Hiranyawasit said Monday.

He added that the officials from his agency went into the Government House to bring some documents out so that they can continue working. They found that those documents had been taken by the PAD.

How can PAD just so blatantly get away with this? I'm not a fan of PPP, but am becoming even less of a fan of PAD (though I cheered them on in my own way in 2006). Their being able to get away with so much with so little punishment means to me that they feel protected by someone very very very high up. Maybe this is obvious to everyone else, as I have been known to be a little dense at times. I'm all for a good act of civil disobedience and non-destructive protest, but the PAD has taken things to ridiculous levels and I wonder why it has been condoned the way it has, so far....

  2. I find that the best way to keep up on news clippings is to just -Google News- things, search for "Thailand Government House" or such. You can also have Google send you news release as they make their way to the internetz. That way you get all domestic and international news as it breaks.

Please, moderators, is it possible for you to set up a news clippings area where only the news reports are posted on breaking news topics?

This thread is a good example of how difficult it is to seperate the news from many pages of political debate...being 29 pages long already.

    try this

    jeez

I'm sorry if that suggestion upset you.

    jeez

  3. I am much better off having some fresh juice (that I juice myself), followed by small serving of oatmeal with soy milk and some raspberries or blueberries. I try not to make any meal too big. I am working really hard to leave the table just satiated and not stuffed (a concept alien to my entire family and my upbringing).

  4. Concern about kind of food, your can eat carbohydrate, fat and protein but make it balance. Do not understand wrong about replace fruit to your meal because in real lot of sugar in fruit.

    Hi

What ratios are you using for your carb/fat/protein?

I do low carb at times, but am now at a 60%/20%/20% or as close to it as I can get, due to the amount of cardio I am doing, plus my weight training 3 times a week. I find it gives me the energy to get through with it, but if I am doing less activity I drop the carbs down and take in more protein. Works for me quite well, nearly at goal weight now. I find it good to shake things up a bit, if I eat the same C/F/P ratios all the time I seem to lose momentum.

I average about 2000-2500 calories a day, depending on how much I have burned.

  5. For race build ups, I'd wake up around 0230 and run until around 0700, then back for another 2 hours of sleep.

I love my morning runs, and consider myself doing pretty well now with my 60 minutes of sweat....but that sentence above exhausts me just reading it! haha. How many kilometers/miles were you putting in with that kind of time?

    Sheesh!

  6. If you are mainly using this for audio recording, then you can use audacity (google it), an open source audio software that would do everything you need. Learning curve is reasonable on it too.

For more bells and whistles I would say either Cubase or Sonar, but those aren't cheap, unless "borrowing" the software from a cd on Panthip is an open option. These both have much more options than audacity (I prefer Sonar over the others) but if you need to learn it then teach it I would say go for audacity.

A small mixer is a good idea. You can get an ok small digital mixer for a few thousand baht.

Also, get a Creative card, the mid range level one would be fine, I think a few thousand baht there too.

I have a fairly decent bedroom DAW, let me know if you have any other questions.....i actually think the window for the control room is kind of funny as are the egg cartons.....but I have been in Thailand long enough to know how important presentation is.

  7. Got my Nokia E51 for about 9500 Baht. great phone that connects just about virtually any way. Use wifi in free places, and when you need to connect to the net use one of the GPRS thingies.... May not be the greatest phone to write long emails on, but witht eh gmail app it is very easy to check on yr mail. For internet, download the opera browser and it ain't so bad.

  8. Could try getting a regular mobile phone that has SIP and WiFI support - Nokia S60v3 models do, Possibly pick up a e65 or e70 for cheap.

Nokia E51 has it, just install Fring and you can have all your VOIP programs at hand.

  9. I saw footage of Samak standing in front of the cameras for a few minutes, silent, you couldn't tell if his mind had just snapped or if he was raging mad but not saying a word, holding it all back like the Hoover dam. He actually looked more like an aging zoo gorilla staring around and over the shoulders of visitors for a few minutes, strangest Thai news footage I've ever seen.

I saw that footage when I was working out, I had my ipod on so I didn't know what was going on. It's true, I thought he was going to start freaking out any second....he looked crazy.

Hey here is the clip, titled 'สมัคร - อะไรวะ' - Samak, Arai Wa? -hee hee

  10. I think the funny thing is that the phone looks so unassuming - I've shown it to a few friends and have let them know what it can do but because it doesn't look really 'accesorised' they don't seem to be that impressed - oh well, my little secret I suppose!
