  1. Neither could I and I've been there a couple of times. You get in a taxi then get out when it arrives - who cares about the rest.
  2. Indeed, I've read about cases where people have jumped from balconies into swimming pools and to put it bluntly, they missed the pool. At this stage we have no idea why they're not paying up, would be nice to have some additional information.
  3. Yes, once I lost a mobile phone and because I didn't report it within the required 24 hours all cover for said phone was null and voided and that was the end of that. All was above board though and the insurance company did an honest job there ????
  4. I'm going to guess that there's some kind of exclusion involving either an unsafe building or alcohol consumption. I'm hoping it's due to the balcony not being high enough, at least there might be someone to sue. I've heard that some insurance policies will deny any claim if you've got any detectable alcohol in your blood. Considering a lot of people like a drink or two when on holiday that kind of negates the usefulness of the policy for what might be a large percentage of the persons stay. One glass of wine might be enough to negate your insurance. Buyer beware. Time will tell I guess.
  5. Anyone can buy anything they want in the UK, there's no limits and nobody cares. You don't have to step foot in the country to do it either. I read about a case involving an ex politician who bought/sold a property which was owned by a company in the Virgin Islands, the transaction was completed by selling the holding company so no stamp duty payment was required, caused quite the scandal a while back. It's a free for all and always will be. Maybe they want to keep the Russians out but they definitely want their money. Ah yes, I looked it up - it was Tony Blair and a 6.5 million pound office building owned by a Bahraini Minister through a British Virgin Islands company, lol - they're all at it. Why would they ever stop it?
  6. Why do you think he didn't have insurance? They don't want to help, that's the message I read. I wonder who his insurer is and why they're dragging their heels on paying?
  7. Yes, they lie, we've all seen this reported before - it's nothing new.
  8. Proof, I would want to see proof, then I change my mind 100%. Nobody, they are unquestionable arbiters of truth. If you question them you are 'cancelled' and labelled as a far right miscreant.
  9. I wonder if anyone from the Russian Embassy went or watched, perhaps discretely from outside.
  10. He lies, if this was his concern then cigarettes would and perhaps should be banned completely.
  11. That's funny because where I come from it's commonly found in the air after someone else pukes
  12. Yes, the US have a very rigid system in place which prevents many people from ever being extradited
  13. Maybe he's got another family going in Thailand, you don't need to be married to have another family. It doesn't matter if his wife in the UK is Thai, nobody cares. If they split it will almost certainly be a 50/50 split, he will move to Thailand and her, well she will be left with half the price of whatever house they live in once it's sold.
  14. Looks like a lovely place to go on holiday with officials wearing paramilitary style clothing coming around to hassle everyone at the end of the night.
  15. Maybe he's got another family on the go in Thailand? She should mind what she says lest he dumps her and leaves her destitute.
  16. Are they still screening for MonkeyPox? How come it's still named after Marburg when the Wuhan one was renamed?
  17. There used to be a TM28 change of address form but apparently they cancelled it so you should be good with just a TM30.
  18. It most certainly is not the same, it's very different to the 2019 version and yes it was 2019 hence the name COVID-19.
  19. He is oddly specific in his prediction but who knows, maybe he's right. Coronaviruses are circulating all the time and lumped in with the rest of the colds although they hit far above their weight in the percentage of infections they cause considering there's around 200 'things' considered common colds and only 4 coronaviruses are in general circulation, until 2020 that is. I referred to COVID it as the birth of a new cold to much derision back in 2020 - but that's exactly what was beginning, it just needed a few years to build up a measure of global immunity and mutate into something less harmful. Both of these processes now appear to be near completion and yes, it will probably never completely disappear but I wouldn't rule that out either.
  20. Interesting, I was informed by all media that Trump is the far right, were they wrong? Time will tell.
  21. They hiked the prices a few years (maybe 6 or 7 years back) back by something like 50% but it's very convenient if you like to order restaurant food on room service while staying there and of course it's a proper suite, more like a small apartment.
