The relay will certainly work. The problem is that it will certainly fail and the time before failure is rather unpredictable because the contact points are small and so it isn’t suitable for prolonged use. The MTB is almost certainly not hours, unlikely to be days, probably not weeks, but after that uncertain.

My mistake. That eliminates the possibility of using any available solid state relays since they are all 70v~80v minimum. A quality version of an unsealed relay is

That shows that you have no idea of the details of the setup and reasoning behind it. DC needs significantly beefed up contacts. So switching high load DC is an expensive option. low voltage DC requires less insulation. AC switching requires lower rated contacts Switching higher power requires higher rated insulation. As you have found low voltage DC relays only switch low voltage (unless custom designed) You need sealed switches as water vapour/high humidity will destroy DC devices quickly You can custom order a 24V DC relay to switch high current 250V AC But for a tenth of the cost, a tenth of the time and higher reliability you can use 3 relays setup as I suggest and probably never bother with them again.

Use a 24V DC relay to switch 24v AC then use the 24V AC to switch a 250V AC source using SSR then a high power 250v AC contactor to switch your load

Probably the problem you are having is that the light from different sources has very different characteristics. The traditional tungsten filament lamp is between 2700-3200K depending on the age of the bulb. Also the light is produced in a smoothish curve. The problem you are having is that the phosphors of fluorescent bulbs are all different depending on the maker for example Sylvania's Daylight CFLs have a colour temperature of 3500, every maker is different, and the phosphors don’t produce a smooth gradient. With LEDs you have even greater differences. There are thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of different makers of the lights using hundreds of different LED chips again coated with different phosphors and many different power supplies. The vast majority will over run the LED chips to produce a brighter light, this means that in time (not too much) the output will dim. So the question is can you get long lasting warm white bulbs? The answer is yes but you will have to pay for them and they are not available in the high power units you want. The price per bulb (in the U.K. )is about ฿450 the lower wattage you can overcome simply by adding more bulbs. The fact that they are clear you can overcome be changing the fixtures you are using, this will reduce the light output so just add more fixtures. The problem you will have is that these bulbs are not sold in Thailand so you will have to find another way to get the hundred or so bulbs and pay the more than 50,000 Baht to get them

Virtually any stored water heater will be OK. It is the instant heaters that need high amp circuits. The stored water heaters chug along taking half an hour to get you to 80C or lower if you want.

Weather prediction is not possible, unless you are looking at a general area and a short time. The time is in hours to days. Accurate rain prediction for a small area is not possible. I have seen rain on one side of a street while the other side was dry. No forecast has ever been able to be that specific. There are some areas where you can predict no rain and some times of the year where you can be reasonably sure of no rain. There is a reason why the weather services have the most advanced powerful computers.

I have tried that several times, or as often as I can persuade SWMBO to ask, no luck yet The significant advantages of gas shielded MIG over stick are enough to prefer it. A skilled welder can weld anything over 1mm with ease using any process, as an occasional welder I don’t want to bother with the learning curve required and practice needed. I have stick welded and have remarkably thin rods available but I am going to get a MIG welder when I can source the correct gas, which, if you have been paying attention, is not simple. I am perfectly capable of burning through 2mm plate and have done so. I am also quite capable of welding 3mm to make a frame. I am now going thinner and without the slag.

To be clear, I don’t use other than Apple devices for communication or computing, so I don’t know if android has a similar function available either natively or with an app. But I do know that my iPad Pro has this feature built in for those who want it, personally I don’t use it, maybe I should.

If you have an iDevice the notes app is available by swiping from the bottom right corner. Otherwise AFIK you have to use actual paper and pencil, though you revere to a previous post that doesn’t exist in this thread.

Extra-long weekend in Thailand: here’s what you need to know
sometimewoodworker replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Such utter BS shows how brainwashed your POV is. Stuff doesn’t make you rich. Lack of an ability to get/afford essential needs (not wants) makes you poor. -
Well it is not so remote, and we regularly visit Udon and occasionally Khon Kaen so the trek isn’t a significant problem and yes we have both a single cab pickup and access to a more luxurious 4 door one so tank transport isn’t an issue. I am still hoping that @Wanderer555 will comment as he said he got equipment in Udon. If that fails I have @Yellowtail ‘s suggestion to try in KK. While I would like to get a MIG setup so far I’ve been trying off and on for about 15 years to add another hobby so a few more weeks isn’t a problem. ????

I agree. Flux-core can be better in some situations and outside for many cases gas can’t be used so Flux-core is the only option, however as I have a workshop I am not restricted. Flux-core Machines are also available at very cheap prices, but again that is not an obstacle. The difficulty is in finding the location of a tank swapping service as I’m not going to buy until I can get the bottle refilled/swapped nearby (within 70km) for an example of my first 2 welds using MIG that are not beautiful, not unexpected given 5 minutes practice, but are completely functional. This shows that gas MIG while needing practice is far more forgiving than stick

It certainly is normal, the machinery for that is mounted on an artic trailer so can go anywhere a tractor trailer can. It is not needed for the majority of builds, ours only needed 7 metre lengths so was formed in the shop. To my certain knowledge the artic’s have been in use in Thailand for at least the last 12 years. That a shop has a limit of 5 meters is not normal as the roll forming machines have no technical limit, other than the length of the steel roll.
-
I have tried both and have no interest in a machine that only uses flux-core as the gas shielded welds are, in my opinion, much preferable. So that is the reason for the request to @Wanderer555 for information.

Water pump too strong, any pressure reducing devices?
sometimewoodworker replied to KhunBENQ's topic in DIY Forum
Is how to destroy a pump in short order. -
The trouble with the big stores distributors of welding equipment is that they have no knowledge of where to get gas, and yes I have asked and always got a ‘we don’t know’ answer. There is likely a specialist store so that is why I ask. Until I have a place to refill/swap CO2 I’m not buying a Mig welder.
-
For a better MIG experience, though 80/20 argon/CO2 is probably better it’s unlikely to be available. Not yet, I’m still hoping that someone who has purchased CO2 can short circuit the enquiry and find a supplier in udon or south of it
