Cable brands - big differences?
sometimewoodworker replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in The Electrical Forum
As are oiks from the first mega comprehensive (400 a year intake) -
Some of those figures seem a little unusual. I am used to SCUBA tanks and pressures so filling to 150 bar is certainly possible as that will be very conservative my ally tanks usually fill to about 180bar and 220 for steel is possible. you say “I think the 6Q is a 300 ft^3 bottle” while I assume that at 150 bar is equal to 2 cu ft or 56 litres I think that the bottle maybe something less than that size looking at an illustration the small tank could be 15 litres so maybe the big one is 60 litres? FWIW in the U.K. 200 bar is the supply pressure for welding or non medical O2 from one supplier

An interesting theory, bogus, but interesting. Batteries degrade over time and charge cycles this is exacerbated by heat. So a 3 year old phone that drains quickly is in need of a battery replacement, the various iCare stores can replace one in an hour or so. You can get cheaper lower quality batteries from virtually any phone repair shop, though the useful life is going to be shorter quite possibly only 1 year with the cheaper ones.

Your posting here gets you opinions and asking for them is optional. You clearly don’t know what you are talking about, sure the product may come out of the same factory but it usually isn’t exactly the same product if you actually knew what you are talking about you would know that. Often the No name items are rejects from the QC of the supposedly the same brand. There are also cheaper mixes of raw materials and the mould thickness being squeezed down for a lighter cheaper product. So just because an item comes from the same factory doesn’t make the quality equal. Take plywood, it’s all produced in the same plants but there can be so many variables that are specified by the buyer that it would not be unusual for the wholesale price to vary by 10 or more times between runs from the same plant.
-
I actually wrote “the price indicates quality” you may have been in the future business but certainly grammar seems somewhat optional. ???? when you are going into fashion to illustrate your points then you are into fantasy land. Louis Vuitton is into fantasy pricing, but it is certainly likely that the construction and QC is better than Samsonite, it isn’t better enough to justify the difference in price, that is done by brand recognition.
-
The price indicates the quality, DOS and WAVE aren’t jacking up the price because of the name. A much lower price is almost certainly a much lower quality. FWIW some people like the rather overpriced drink that MacDonald’s sells and may even get the name right. Other people like to drink good quality coffee.

While welding is always an individual exercise do you have a rough time you would expect a bottle to last? Either the 1.5Q or the 6Q as I’m not sure of the capacity (what is a Q?) and usual fill pressures Given the volume and fill pressure I can work out the time but I am hesitant to keep bothering the supplier. FWIW as I will probably go to the actual factory I am likely to get the caps with no problem.
-
It is the cost for purchasing the bottle including gas ex factory. Delivery cost depends on location. However the small bottle is under 1 meter tall so will fit into any vehicle.
-
FWIW the Udon one is totally unavailable. I did make contact with the KK one for a new 1.5Q bottle of 80/20 Ar/CO2 it is ฿3,300 for the large 6Q bottle plus 80/20 Ar/CO2 it is ฿5,800 (this is the standard big gas bottle) i didn’t ask for a breakdown for pure gases

It isn’t the fading, it is that they will become brittle in time and be a bear to replace.

Bluetooth is connected via the interface with the host computer as is Wi-Fi

That may be what they say, it maybe what they do, however termites neither listen to them nor pay attention. They still eat it DAMHIKT. Your coats of poly will have no significant deterrent effect. You will anyway be breaching the poly coating when you fasten the top down. More protection will do no harm, and in my experience it is cheap insurance.

I have no opinion on you, I am certainly not ridiculing you. However once it was pointed out that the supposed laser welder was at best a bait and switch for consumable parts (and that a welder is going to be hundreds of thousands) the overwhelming majority would have either done research to prove or disprove that. But you just doubled down with an add for one of the most completely obvious fake tools I’ve seen. Is that showing that you are gullible? I will leave others to voice their opinion, I know mine.
-
No it won’t, you should have first used at least 2 probably more coate of Chandrite. It is unlikely that it will now penetrate sufficiently but better to give it a try.
-
And exactly what is the point of your post? The supposed tool is so clearly and obviously a fake, as it claims to be an American product that it certainly isn’t, it use some parts of a laser welder but is missing some rather large parts. if it were it would be easy to find the power claimed would require water cooling

More like the look of someone who knows what an arc flash can do and knows enough to stand where it is unlikely to affect him. ????
-
Having looked at parts prices it almost certainly isn’t the gun or the wirefeed unit as they are each in the 20,000 and over range, it likely to be a protective lens unit or safety glasses. the advertised prices are never for the complete unit, always for small parts, just use “laser welding machine” as a search in AliExpress.

I guess that the same technology, as in phone chargers, is used -

It isn’t, but you will be mocked (and possibly taunted) as will others who make amusing faux pas, probably because the appreciation of the humour of Monty Python and ilk is strong here -

A handyman who wants to charge 2000 baht for a "survey fee"
sometimewoodworker replied to Nickcage49's topic in DIY Forum
While my electrician doesn’t charge for a quote he expects to be paid for his travel time, he doesn’t give an amount but if you don’t give a reasonable payment you may find that any date you want him to come is unfortunately not possible. We pay travel, he is happy to work for us. His travel is not as expensive as the handyman and he needs 2 hours for a round trip. -

While TEFAL is an excellent make and there are induction kettles, it is extremely unlikely that the one you have is actually an induction kettle. It is likely to be similar to the Häfele kettle we have, they both have a Concealed heating element. Yours seems to be the TEFAL APRECIA - BI8126https://www.tefal.com/Breakfast/Kettles/Aprecia/APRECIA---BI8126/p/7211000876?scc=Breakfast-kettles mine is this one if it were an induction kettle it would be unable to have an auto cutoff function on the kettle itself. Totally safe to touch, I agree but not an indication coil. There are no induction kettles that I can find sold with an induction coil base apart from the Chemex Chettle Induction Kettle a little expensive at over ฿5,000 All the others use an induction stove. They are more efficient at about 85% as opposed to the regular electric kettle at 80%
