  1. Yes I also think I understood. But thanks for confirming ????. I didn't really understand the rest of your post though. Could you translate to English for me please?
  2. Well the bulk Chinese tour groups aren't going to be here any time soon, so it might be prudent for the TAT to focus on things that the average western tourist likes i.e. pubs, restaurants, bars etc.
  3. Yep, zero Covid isn't realistic. We have to live with this, same as we live with Flu etc. The sooner people realize this the better. Time to ramp up vaccinations and further easing restrictions. Let people earn a living and live their lives according to what THEY consider to be an acceptable level of risk, not what some paternalistic government decides is best for them.
  4. They need to open internally first. Get the protocols in place for places like restaurants, swimming pools, beaches, pubs etc. that tourists will expect to be 100% open. Once this is working properly for domestic tourism, consider opening to foreign tourists. I would suggest they open up pubs and restaurants (properly - no alcohol bans) on October 1st so we can start practicing the protocols. I'll happily take part and provide feedback.
  5. 2 shots of AZ for me. Moderna paid for but not yet administered.
  6. Great move. Someone needs to stand up to China and if it annoys Macron in the process then that's a bonus. What they gonna do? Withdraw their ambassador? Oohhhh really scary.
  7. Who are these Covid deniers you speak of? The fact is, restrictions have been eased this month and yet cases are still falling. But apparently that's nothing to do with the millions of vaccinations being done every week.???? You anti-vax guys would actually be hilarious if you didn't want everyone locked down for eternity. How about this? You can hide behind your sofa with your Hazmat suit on for as long as you like and the rest of us can gradually return to normal. ????
  8. Nobody is claiming it's going away on it's own, that's a straw man. Thailand is doing millions of vaccinations each week now. I suppose that has nothing to do with it? Only Pokemon wandering around The Matrix seriously believes vaccinations don't make a huge difference. That's a dangerous and irresponsible message for you lockdown fanatics to be sending out.
  9. Pathetic. More evidence that the NACC are simply puppets of the Junta.
  10. Sounds a lot like Thailand. Neither country has a great record of honoring free trade agreements. Should be a marriage made in heaven.
  11. This is good news. With the vaccination rates finally ramping up it looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel. Of course the real numbers are higher than reported. But the trend does appear to be downwards, whether due to increased vaccination or simply Delta burning itself out. Let's hope the downward trend continues. We all need to get on with our lives.
  12. Headlines like this must really get the tourists queueing up to spend their hard earned cash here.
  13. The Thai people don’t have any confidence in the Thai government. Luckily for Anutin, the Thai “government” is really just an Army with lots of tanks and guns. The “PM” is really just the head of the Army, so Anutin can continue with his nonsense as long as he likes. If the “government” get voted out they can just have another coup. They’re overdue one anyway and the Thai people won’t do anything to stop it. They never do. Democracy. Thai sty.
  14. NACC what a laugh. National Advancement of Corruption Commission. The whole place is corrupt from top to bottom. Always will be. Totally ingrained over centuries.
  15. The Thai teachers must hate teaching online. Their weak teaching methods and skills are exposed to parents and they can’t act like the little dictator, slapping kids around etc.
  16. Totally agree. Thaksin opened up the country to international investment and offered something to the disenfranchised. His policies directly led to my previous company investing millions of dollars here and my subsequent deployment to Bangkok in 2006 to help setup the factory. The Junta has reversed this. Making the rich richer and the poor poorer. Stomping on human rights and Democracy. Any educated expat that supports them is the lowest of the low. Real elitist scumbaags.
  17. This goon is a great example of what happens when Democracy is usurped by generals who subsequently install fools with no experience but only wealth power or contacts. I hope the Junta supporters on the forum are watching and remember for next time. Or maybe they are too busy humping and pumping? Thailand is a shadow of the country I first visited 25 years ago. The military and its contacts are bleeding it dry. Once my extremely lucrative work contract is finished I will be spending much more time overseas.
  18. I agree. It's not fair on the tourists to expose them to a highly infected and largely unvaccinated Thai population. Let them go to a safe country that's open for business and doesn't have silly hoops to jump through.
  19. The General doesn’t drink. He hates alcohol. If it weren’t for tourists he’d have banned the serfs from drinking and sent them back to the fields where they belong already. I hope the Junta fanboys are enjoying Thailand 4.0 ????.
  20. We had a guy install some lighting around our property about a year ago. Really nice guy and did a good job which given some of the other work I've had done pleasantly surprised me. A couple of months later my girlfriend told me he'd been electrocuted while working up a ladder and had fallen several metres to the ground, landing on his head. He was in a coma for a week before they switched the machine off. Had a young wife and child as well. Incredibly sad. The risks they take are insane and I'd imagine these type of deaths are pretty common.
  21. I would also understand pretty quickly if given the choice between "understanding" and wearing multiple plastic bags on my head for 10 minutes ????.
  22. Indeed. My conclusions were based on the content of your posts and hence perfectly reasonable.. I would say I'm glad you finally agree with me, but that wouldn't strictly be true because (based on the content of your posts) I couldn't give a Monkey's. Ciao.
  23. May I remind you of your assumption regarding another poster on this thread? It would appear you are very quick to assume the situation and concerns (or lack of) of others. Yet you are simultaneously so quick to express your faux outrage when someone makes an assumption about you, even when it's based on the content of your posts. I'm sure if you think long and hard enough you'll be able to find the flaw in your hypocritical, sanctimonious and supercilious position. Then again... ????
  24. Or a bit more honesty from you. Covid doesn't really affect you much, apart from being a bit boring. So you're happy for the livelihoods and businesses of the less well off to be destroyed as long as you feel a bit safer and more virtuous.
  25. OK, maybe not luxury but there are private cells, mobile phones, drugs/alcohol, half decent food, conjugal visits available if you have cash to pay guards. Certainly luxury compared to being in the sardine section eating fish head soup every day. https://thethaiger.com/hot-news/crime/thai-prison-governor-fired-for-allowing-inmate-conjugal-visit
