Pita’s Ambitions to be the Next Thai Prime Minister End
While I think Pita should have sorted out the issue with the shares, it really wouldn't have made any difference. They'd have found or created some other reason to ban him, and failing that the tanks would have rolled onto the streets once again. I do feel that Pita has given them an easy path though. Let's see what happens. This could get messy.

Minneapolis ex-cop Chauvin gets 21 years in prison for violating George Floyd's rights
A good decision. The sentence will hopefully quell riots from the usual violent demographic and it runs concurrently so it's not significant to the defendant. The original sentence was appropriate. As for justice for the business owners? No chance. Hard working Americans are considered secondary to violent, drug taking criminals like Floyd.

Australians divided over ‘Voice to Parliament’ for Indigenous people
Revenge politics. This is not about equality. It's about revenge. BLM is a great example. Sure to end well. I mean, what could go wrong ?

Didn't happen.

Temple incident: Monk prompts killing of dog in Chiang Mai causes public outrage
Disgraceful behaviour from the monk. If the dog was a problem, he should have dealt with it in keeping with Buddhist precepts. He should be defrocked immediately - before he abuses his authority to do even worse things (assuming he hasn't already).

There Is Only Male and Female. Women Pay the Price When We Pretend Otherwise
A Sarong isn't a dress. You could argue it is a skirt (although it's not, it's actually a wrap) but even then, the Indian and Malay males (and some Issan Thai males) that wear them aren't pretending to be women (which was they key point of the argument that you conveniently ignored). I have no issue in referring to a transwoman as "she" if it makes them happy (I have no desire to insult, demean or belittle them). I will happily call them Jospehina instead of Joseph. But as someone who respects science it would be dishonest of me to say they are women when I know they are biologically male. I prefer the correct term, transwoman or if speaking Thai, Katoey.

The latest US-North Korea spat is a high-risk moment for Biden
Maybe he could offer up a prolific arms trader nicknamed the Merchant Of Death in exchange like he did with Britney Griner?

Bangkok student’s offensive gesture triggers backlash
Absolutely true. But that's because the student knows that a Thai teacher would be backed up by the school director and they'd be in big trouble. If the actions against the black teacher were reported to the directors they'd probably have a good laugh about it and make a racist comment of their own. That's the problem when the racism runs all the way through the system, right up to the likes of Anutin.

Australians divided over ‘Voice to Parliament’ for Indigenous people
The worst bits of US and the UK culture always seem to filter through to Australia eventually. Normally it takes a couple of decades but in this case it seems to have been quicker. Prepare for race relations to get a whole lot worse when these type of policies spring up. Different rules/systems based on race/heritage never ends well. I also wonder how the "selection" of this body will work. Elections where only certain Demographics can vote? Or "selected" behind closed doors? Doesn't sound very Democratic to me. What next? An Asian body to advise the government on issues affecting Asian Australians? If not, why not? How about a separate body for each race/religion/background. That should really drive the wedge between everyone. Nah, not for me. Better to treat all disadvantaged groups the same, no matter the race or heritage.

There Is Only Male and Female. Women Pay the Price When We Pretend Otherwise
I'm talking about the real, guttural reaction from the crowd. Not some carefully scripted PR statement after the event for damage limitation.

There Is Only Male and Female. Women Pay the Price When We Pretend Otherwise
Trans exclusionary radical feminist. Basically a code word for traditional feminists that believe in women's rights.

There Is Only Male and Female. Women Pay the Price When We Pretend Otherwise
Unfortunately we run the risk of violence when we refuse to pretend. Here is a trans activist encouraging people to "punch a TERF in the f*****g face". Now if he was booed or even met with awkward silence that would be one thing. But the most disturbing part is the cheers from the crowd.

Puncture.
I've done thousands of kms on plugs, including high speeds on large sports bikes. Never an issue. I also tried to remove a plug on an old tyre after it was replaced. No way that sucker was coming out. I'd say you have a much higher chance of getting a new puncture on a separate section of the tyre than an existing plug failing. Of course, the tyre companies will tell you they are temporary, better to buy a new tyre ASAP etc.

Bangkok to start using AI in management of traffic flow
Every cop 'directing traffic' just seems to be waving me along to go faster. "Hurry up!!!" is the cry... Which is particularly annoying when I am 50cm from the car in front, travelling at walking pace or slower.

Totally agree with the OP.

The price war on EVs may harm interests of customers
You're correct actually. Officially they are privately owned but with links to the CCP. Here's some info on their chairman. Not a company I would personally support. https://www.ft.com/content/c5129ef8-8982-11e7-bf50-e1c239b45787

Bangkok student’s offensive gesture triggers backlash
Unfortunately racism exists everywhere, it's not the sole property of white people as the Western MSM would like us to believe. Incidents like this (and even worse - the mother's comments) just further re-inforce how tolerant our own countries are. Unfortunately, in Thailand the fish rots from the head. Anutin and his "dirty farang" comments are a great example of this.

Huw Edwards in hospital as he is named in BBC presenter row
Because it shows the massive inconsistency between the sympathetic way the BBC reports on one of it's own (Edwards) compared to the way it vitroilically reports on someone from the other side of the political spectrum (Cummins). I would have thought that was obvious dear.

Crackdown ordered on organised crime in Pattaya, stricter visa screening after Ralter Mack murder
I'd say that's a better definition of a dumbazz. A lot of the real scumbags are way too smart to have police records. They're not getting in bar fights or holding up the local 711 for a few hundred quid.

Has the Dumbing-down of British TV Become a Blight Upon the World? (Slow Decline Beginning c.1976?)
Benny Hill is still doing great in Spain, they love it. https://www.theweek.co.uk/news/world-news/959369/benny-hill-enjoys-a-revival-in-spain The decline has happened in the last few years unfortunately, where political correctness has ruled out most forms of humour to the point that most re-runs need "trigger warnings" and comedians get cancelled or even assaulted on stage for telling jokes. More serious shows/series have also been affected, where historical figures have to be played by someone of the opposite sex, race etc. just so the producers can prove they are "right on".

Europe to get even hotter as 50C (122F) recorded in US and China
I made the mistake of opening up the BBC website first thing this morning. From the first few stories you'd think the planet was about to implode in a fiery ball of man made iniquity. I turned it off, opened my curtains to hear birds tweeting from my Bangkok balcony. A balmy 27 degrees. No wonder so many people are suffering mental health issues with this type of alarmist reporting. They may as well be walking around screaming "The End is Nigh" from their loudspeakers. It really has become a doomsday cult. I feel sorry for kids growing up now, some of whom no doubt believe the planet only has 5 years left, or whatever the climate alarmists latest prediction is. The picture kind of sums it up. Drama queen in the foreground, reality in the background.

Huw Edwards in hospital as he is named in BBC presenter row
This thread is about Edwards and the way the BBC covered it, not Conservative party announcements so stop trying to divert the conversation. Their coverage of Cummins for essentially taking a detour was disgraceful, especially given the sympathy shown towards Edwards for allegedly far worse behaviour (including the same offense of breaking lockdown but with many layers of sleazy behaviour laid on top). Compare this hit piece from Maitlis to the sympathetic Edwards coverage... Show me an equivalent hit piece from the BBC on Edwards. Here's a clue, there isn't one. Once again, they are showing political bias and looking after one of their own. Just like they did with the cigar smoking shell suit donning fixer. And yes, the BBC did report on Rosindall. They were hardly going to miss that opportunity, were they? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-61487215

Twitter temporarily restricts tweets users can see, Elon Musk announces
Yes I must say it's great as a consumer to have less ads popping up all the time. Unlike FaceBook where it's 5 ads for every post by people I am interested in. Haven't tried Threads but I guess it's the same as FB. Certainly it will be if the EU ever approves it.

Huw Edwards in hospital as he is named in BBC presenter row
It's really interesting to compare the weeks long vitriol towards Dominic Cummins for allegedly breaking Covid lockdown rules to visit his family, compared to the sympathy for Huw Edward's allegedly doing the same thing to visit his teenage, wannabe (allegedly drug addicted) lover. Could it be due to the fact that Edwards is a BBC luvvie whereas Cummins was a right wing Tory with links to Boris? Surely not... no way this is in any way political...
