why does my hard drive keep filling up?
dingdongrb replied to BananaBandit's topic in IT and Computers
Browsers, especially Chrome will eat up drive space as the browser is used. Also WIN updates will utilize space. -
Not sure about CM as I have always gotten mine in Lamphun (less queue). Doing mine last year (Nov, I believe) there was a MC requirement. I got one easily there at CM Ram (newer location which is within walking distance of the older Ram hospital).

Question about visa extension (mistake stamp)
dingdongrb replied to waxpro's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Why don't folks check that everything is okay prior to leaving immigration? I once found my visa stamp was not signed when they passed me back my passport. I once found that they gave me another person's 90 day slip when passing me back my passport. Two errors in 14 years, not too bad but all was corrected before leaving immigration. Why, because I checked before I left! -
I sold a residence 5 yrs ago while not leaving Thailand. Not needing any docs notarized or giving anyone POA.

STOP!!!! You are so blatantly wrong. The scooter was doing nothing wrong. As far as anyone knows the scooter was in the rightmost lane because it was preparing to make a right turn into one of the businesses on the right-side of the road. The SUV was at fault for starting the U-turn from the wrong lane. NOTE: You best be worrying about your own mental health state....... at a minimum, learn how to drive.
-
Are you crazy? Scooters can drive in any lane as long as they are not impeding traffic. That is, they can drive in the rightmost lane as long as they are traveling faster than the vehicles in the left lane. The car (SUV) was clearly at fault for making the U-turn from the wrong lane.

Order at 3am, delivered at 5am - wow!
dingdongrb replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in IT and Computers
Your issue is with buying an HP product. I bought an HP laptop. Slow, got hot, and died 2 yrs later. I bought an HP printer while living in China. Couldn't buy ink cartridges in Thailand for it. I bought an HP camera and the power switch failed before a year. Had it repaired and within another year the camera's sensor died leaving it with a blank screen. My lesson learned: Never buy another HP product again. -

Inside what, IEAT industrial park or some of the high tech companies? Been in both, many times, .and in more than one factory. I never said hundreds of thousands. Matter of fact I didn't imply a number to those employed, only their typical salaries. When Hoya was peaking they employed several thousands alone. I know that as the previous head of HR used to be my neighbor. And one of those factories I was inside employees today over 3k at their Lamphun location. That company also has locations in BKK, China, USA, and Cambodia. You do know that IEAT is located on both sides of the Super Hwy, don't you? And a few years back Lamphun started developing another High Tech Industrial Park. It is located southeast of the main city. Those industrial parks are an attraction for international companies as they offer tax breaks.
-
CM does include surrounding areas such as Lamphun doesn't it? Ever heard of IEAT, quite a few tech jobs there. Matter of fact I'm friends with several Thais that wok in that industrial park and they have recently been making Facebook posts showing numerous job openings where they work.
-
There are very good salaries given to all class of workers in the high tech factories. That goes for direct production operators as well as the indirect engineers & managers. Operators - 300 THB and up per day (Typically six 10 hr days). Overtime offered. Housing provided at low cost (or free). Transportation to/from work provided. Subsidized food in the canteen while at work. Many other benefits. Indirect employee - Anywhere from 30k THB to 140k THB a month depending on experience and position. Do note: I personally know quite a few couples where both spouses work at the same company.

How are you preparing for the coming cold spell ?
dingdongrb replied to worgeordie's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I prepare for the cold by: - Draining the sprinkler system and blowing it out so it doesn't freeze. - Buy salt to use on the sidewalks. - Get out all the wool sweaters and down jackets. - Cut a few cords of firewood for the wood burning stove. - Pack a spare set of clothes along with some bottles of water and energy bars in the car just in case I get stuck in a snowstorm. - Put the snow tires on the car and ensure the chains are available in the trunk ('boot' for some). - Prepare the ice fishing hut and equipment. - Make sure I buy a season pass to the Summit county ski resorts. .......oh wait, that's some of the things I did preparing for the Winter in Colorado. Here in Thailand I just turn the AC off for a month or two..... ???? -
Anyone successfully use FIRESTICK and get HBO GO in Chiang Mai…?
dingdongrb replied to mikey88's topic in Chiang Mai
I have always been successful finding the movie or TV series I want to watch on the Internet for free. Just click and stream. All quite simple if you have reliable internet connection with decent speed and use an ADBlocker.
