Retirement Extension 800k, Phuket
Did my one year retirement last week. What a pain. New room 4 opposite the old room 3. Handles ever sort of long term visa. I arrive 10.00 and no queue cards left (only issue 30 morning session). I had my usual hand drawn map but now they also need a google maps screen shot your location include the lat long reference. I give photos road address sign, house number, home entrance, lounge, all with me in photo.

Big Buddha Phuket Foundation Charged Over Fatal Landslide Incident
Yes I know that part of Patak Road flood every time it rains. Big mobile pump at Supercheap, my doc at Karon clinic opposite has flooding. Never seen thick mud. Guess much of this is due to big housing development up the hill. Brought all the rain water/mud down. The development started a number of year ago never completed.

Big Buddha Phuket Foundation Charged Over Fatal Landslide Incident
As far a I can see Karon Post office is still standing. It did close couple years back. Not long after it opened. Never heard of any mudslide.

Just look at the drone photo (not copied here). Clearly the avalanche source was the car park extension.

Heavy Rains Cause Landslides in Phuket, 1 Dead
Very heavy rain all night. We woke due to roof leak over bed about 04.30. Head ambulances about 07.00. Saw traffic backing up on Patak road. Thought a car accident past Kata School. By 08.00 still sirens. And I noticed the sea at Kata Beach had a red band of silt. I looked right from my balcony and could see the steep hill had slid down. Lucky I did not park our car there as too much rain for our usual morning Kata front walk.

Cataract Surgery - local alternatives to Bangkok Hospital?
Dr Captain at Bangkok Phuket Bright Eye Clinic has looked after my eyes for 10 years. Yes very expensive but I only have one eye that works. What price keeping my remaining sight. Had cataract removed and lens implant my good eye 2 years ago. He had my full confidence and knew my eye history over 10 years.

Patong - The Wake
As I understand it Bruno owns/manages the hotel Palma Resort. This Mario I thought brother/family first open an Italian restaurant over 15 years ago at the newly built 'Resort' (cant remember the name, still empty, being remodel these past 10 years as condos) on Nanai Road south/opposite of Makro but that place closed after just a few years. Bruno seemed to set up a catering supplies business on Nanai 2 opposite the Palma Resort, AFAIK Bruno manages the hotel and restaurant Capannina. This might old info as I rarely visit our apartments on Nanai 2. Be honest I never see Bruno and only see Mario tese last couple of years. Mario closed the catering supplies shop during covid. Never open again from my observations.

Heavy flooding after torrential rains in Phuket (30 June 2024)
Here in Kata Karon rain was light from 06.00 to 12.00. My CCTV over in Patong did not show heavy rain. Think flooding localised. Kamala, Chern Talay, and Thalang looked bad.

Richard Burrows, Phuket's 'Peter Smith', faces 30 more charges
How could have stayed in Thailand for almost 30 years on a fake passport ? Renewed passport each 10 years ? UK home office got a lot to answer.
