I just can't fathom it? Have you seen pictures of this girl? She's young, extremely beautiful, bright and intelligent a whole world ahead of her?! Why is she choosing to marry an imprisoned 64 year old serial killer who amongst his many victims are young beautiful intelligent women.
This Charles Sobhraj must be one charming MF!
Attention seeker?

Good news, indeed. The brave little fella deserves it.
-
Sounds like the poor little thing will be put down then. All for protecting two little girls.
-
who is Weho?
You can not be serious!!!
-
Wow, what did he look like?!
Come back Weho! Its not the same without you!
Seconded!
-
Thanks for that great update HoJo. Good luck to the plucky little fella.

I'm glad the OP posted this as I tend to get a bit lax with my money when out shopping. It will make me a bit more careful and check things out from now on (until I get lax again ).

Hi HoJo
Can we have another progress report please.
-
Well, The rat had his op yesterday and they have stiched his intestines back into where they are supposed to be. He woke up late and the neighbour reported that he was groggy but ok and he was taking his fluids and mushed up food, so thats a good sign.
Apparently the vet has said that he has to go to a specialist in Bangkok to get his jaw fixed. I am not 100% sure about this as my missus couldn't really communicate the technical details. Although I'm not surprised as his jaw is so tiny, it would take a real expert to rebuild it.
Obviously, thats a lot more cost involved for the owner and she's unlikely to get any help from the owner of the 2 dogs so it looks like I may have to dip into my pocket to help out - which I am happy to do. I just hope its all wothwhile.
Again, thanks for your messages of support.
Cheers
HoJo
Sounds like the little fella might pull through, which is all down to your generosity and caring. What a great bloke.
I look forward to the next update.

I find totally amazing the ammount of experts on Thai Visa, who can judge jury and convict all Thai people and Farangs with a touch of their withered wrinkled old fingers on a keyboard on an anonymous internet Forum.
Quite unbelievable in fact. .
Do you honestly give a flying fawk what people think about you ?
Take me for example, I'm on a retirement Visa in Thailand although I still do some contract work from time to time, I'm incredibly good looking, fit, have a house, condo, Fortuner and more than a few mill in the bank, I have all my own hair and teeth, never been sick, and my family have a history of living until a very old age with no long dragged out illness, we just die a couple of days after feeling ill at a minimum of 85 years +, I ain't fat bald or ugly which I suppose makes me stand out amongst the usual standard of Farang.... Do I care ? No I don't. I have to live with it.
If a person feels so insecure at what other people may say or think about them, then that is a problem that is theirs, not other peoples.
My Missus is 31 years old looks a lot younger and still I have younger girls hitting on me, and I don't mean Bar girls, although I love them too.
I guess I'm just too good looking for my own good, it's a burden I have to bear folks.
Why don't you post a pic of yourself and then we can all judge you

Please let us know how he's doing

And I hope the owner of the 2 savage dogs is going to be a responsible owner and is picking up all the bills and having her mutts put down for attacking 2 children?
And if not I hope that you will be reporting the attack on the children to the dog pund to have the savages taken away?
The owner of the 2 dogs does not appear to be the nicest of people and apparently was pretty rude when asked about contributing.
That's not something I think we can really get involved with as he is not our dog.
As for reporting the attack, well - I'm not sure there is a dog pound here in Pattaya and as neither of the children was injured I am not sure the police or authorities would be that interested.
Sometimes I wish there was a way to make people more responsible for their actions but I can't ever see that happening here. Unfortunately.
hope the little guy pulls through, brave dog. My dog and I have been attacked by thai dogs many times while minding our own business.guess what happened? : )
Looking at your avatar, I'm guessing the soi dogs soon disappeared with their tail between their legs!
Thanks for all the kind words. He is going in for his operation today so fingers crossed.
I really hope everything goes well with the operation on this brave little dog. I'm sure many of us TV members will be thinking about him today. Please let us know how he is doing as soon as you can.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the little fella. Please keep us informed of his progress.

Will be taking my mothere to Pattaya for a couple of nights and want to know where to take her as she doesn't seem to be too keen on Thai food, unfortunately! We'll be somewhere around the Second Road, so recommendations uregently needed!
Cheers guys/gals
try Symphony on the left side of 2nd Road between Sois 7 & 8. Hugh is a great host, the food is excellent and reasonably priced. My mother likes it there. It used to be called Mata Hari for the benefit of the old campaigners
I think Symphony has closed . Can't swear to it but it's always in darkness when I pass these days.

I once posted a letter from Thailand to an insurance company in the UK. It took 4 days to get there, they replied to me that same day and it took 3 days to get back to me. One week, there and back - is this a record?
-
This is so sad. I can't help but wonder what his short life was like with these uncaring people. RIP son.
-
RIP mate.
They will never solve this issue. A new surprise every year....
The truth is, if they don't get a kick ass every day they won't do anything. Oh...sorry I am a rude farang, not understanding the Thai style, but many things are very well overdue now.
(The reason why I am angry like that is that this stupid thing can happen to anyone...when walking home after heavy rain and flooding....)
So very true! RIP Scott.

250 baht, 500 baht or 1000 baht - the amount of money is irrelevant. It's the blatant racism I object to and I would NEVER subject myself to it.
It is not racist, it might be exploitation of tribal people with long necks, but I am sure the extra money they earn for posing in photographs comes in handy.
This is not a perfect world, and if I want to view tribal people with long necks so be it.
Save your anger for the real horrors that Thailand can throw at you.
Definition of racism: prejudice or animosity against people who belong to other races.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
any updates?
Yep, turned up this morning and placed a stool near to his corner. His taxi broke down on the way so he was late and came 5 mins after me. He squeezed into his place and made his calls without fuss this time. He probably didn't like it but hid his frustration.
This is probably a really stupid question, but why didn't you sit in his seat in the corner?
No it's a good question, and I nearly took his place, but then thought I'll test his reaction by sitting right next to it first...as before when this happened (before he was moving the stools away) he still got mad. I have a feeling the "re-education" program is working as the staff seemed happy with his change of manners and no further episodes of public aggression, and said they hope it continues. He can almost be released into mainstream society again now, after the final test of course.
I think you should have taken his place.

JSixpack - Post #7 - absolutely spot on!

Thanks a lot, marshbags.
-
Marshbags, do you know if the letter from the bank can be dated the day before you apply or has it to be on the same day?
I was hoping to collect the letter from the bank in the afternoon, so I could be at immigration early the next morning, but not sure if this would be allowed.
Thanks.
