Bloody hell, the hard of thinking are out in force today, for your information the UK strain was named after the place it was first recognised due to the Stirling work carried out in the UK at the forefront of science

    Sterling.

Stirling is the town where I lived.

I thought Stirling was a type of moss?

Perhaps his husband said, "You're going where wearing those shoes?"

"To visit the Thai prime minister."

"Oh, that's OK then. He has no idea either."

    His husband? Is he gay?

Yes. I thought I posted a link earlier. Perhaps it didn't post? I didn't check.

    Here it is:  https://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/04/world/asia/us-diplomats-same-sex-marriage-causes-stir-in-china.html

"He said Thailand signed the contract [with AZ] in October last year, during a time when the country had no locally transmitted infections. “That means we were not careless,” he said."

So he's saying that since they didn't take into consideration that the situation might worsen, their decision shouldn't be criticized? Not sure that's the argument I would use if I were a government minister tasked with safeguarding the people's health and safety.

For some reason it reminds of schoolboy excuses:

    The dog ate my homework.

I left my school satchel on the bus.

My pen ran out of ink.

  6. There's an emoji I use to use sometimes, same as the one below.

Since the 'upgrade' it's disappeared from my dropdown list of 'Smileys & Emotion'

It used to appear as 'recently used', but now only displays as     :cheesy:    without the emoji.

I've only managed to include this one as I see someone else just used it and I copied it from their post to paste it below.

A few days ago, I wrote to the British Ambassador to Thailand (Brian Davidson) pointing out the racism involved in Thailand's decision to leave expats to the end of the queue when it comes to vaccinations and requesting him to register a strong protest with the Thai Government and Health authorities.   To his credit, he immediately replied, saying that he would be doing so.

I assume that this meeting was his opportunity to raise the matter.

I'm impressed when you said he immediately wrote back. I just wonder what he might have said to our illustrious leader.

TAT doesn't use calculations the same way we do, they have special calculators made in China and the result/end is always what they estimated, thus by July 1st you should expect to see a post,  from them/TAT,  claiming that Phuket has reached herd immunity ????????????

The Chinese calculators have an internal multiplication loop, known as the coefficient of exaggeration.

I wonder if he thanked the British Ambassador for the B1.1.7 strain which is making up 98% of cases in Thailand currently?

I would expect so, they've done nothing but kiss Chinas ass since the virus emerged.

A bit odd to see the phrase 'British Ambassador' and 'kiss Chinas ass' together here.
