    Hi there

I just arrived back in NAKHON PHANOM after 10 days qaurantine and went to immigration the following day to notify them and they informed me I could do it after spending 2 weeks at home ????️

    That's very kind of them.

Do you know why they were unwilling to accept your application when you went to immigration initially?

In 45 years of driving, not only have I never had brake failure in any vehicle I have been driving , I have never heard of anyone in the west who has. Its a common excuse here, trotted out every time the driver has been drunk, drugged, on his phone or driving too fast.

It has been said many times before the problem is a failure to brake, for numerous reasons.

I am an optimist, i expect everything happening at the same time

(For obvious reasons on the anniversary day of the Great Leader 1st PM)

the first Thai walking on the moon, the return of the first million of tourists and the 300 000 vaccinations, all in the same f........g day !!!!

Have they redefined the length of a day locally now - a hundred years internationally?

a lot of Thai's i have been speaking with recently have very little confidence with the AstraZeneca vaccine due to reports of blood clots and other issues.

44 cases out of 10 million

I know the numbers are very, very, low. I'm guessing now that other vaccines probably have fatalities just as low associated with them?

While covid is constantly in the news, it's bound to be added to the reports. Some people will panic, ignoring other fatalities caused by malaria, dengue fever, diabetes, etc.

According to the Deputy National Police Chief, there are around 1200 lines on the 191 hotline available 24hrs a day, to facilitate the needs of COVID-19 patients. However, 191 is positioned as a secondary line, and citizens are asked to call 1668 and 1669 before calling 191 as it is still mainly for emergencies and crime.

    'the 191 hotline available 24hrs a day'

Unless you live in Udon. The police won't answer the number at night. My family have called on two separate occasions to report suspected burglars. No reply.

'citizens are asked to call 1668 and 1669 before calling 191'

I always thought 1669 was the emergency number for an ambulance? What if you urgently need one and the lines are busy?

Some people have already got the approval. The got the approval within hours of submitting it. I suspect some have gotten the instant approval it their local office allows it.

UJ, could explain that a bit more please - 'if their local office allows it'?

Are you saying that online registration is not allowed by all branches?

I was under the impression (perhaps incorrectly) that the 90 day registration was on a nationally networked system. Therefore wherever the online request is processed, the details would be available from all the branches?

Not tonight, but this morning. I was about to start rowing on my rowing machine when I heard an extremely worried "Garry, Garry, snake, snake come on down and do something" or words to that effect. Turns out there was a snake in our spare room which we use to store my tools, the clothes horse and other <deleted>. Couldn't identify it at first and it tried to hide, but when I moved some stuff around I saw a bit of yellow/cream on either side of its neck and an O on the back of its neck. I've never had a cobra in my house before (only a golden tree snake, a sunbeam snake and a couple of others in the garden) so was a bit wary, but managed to scoop him up and let him go in our tiny garden, but not before he spread his hood to let us know he was pi55ed off. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture.

Wife was not happy about me letting him go in the garden. Said we should have called someone to take him away. She was probably right (I'll never admit that to her), but I told her he would buๆger off on his own.

And I have not even moved out to the sticks yet. Here I am in an end unit town house (hence the tiny garden) near Udomsuk in Bangers.

Wow an urban snake! It must have escaped from a pet shop, boy.

Me with a fear of snakes, I'd be from Udomsuk to Central Bang Na quicker than you could say vindscreen viper.

What happened to the clothes horse - was it bitten, has it gone lame? Have you had to put it down - tidily I hope?

P.S. Your rowing machine. Who normally wins, you or the wife? I suppose arguing could be seen as a hobby.
