  1. A simple & life saving measure for the population of thailand ?cut the carnage on the countries road network? Save millions of baht annually in accident costs?

THE ANSWER IS ENFORCE BIKE HELMET LAWS ! manufacture cool thai design ones that the populace will like to wear.

NEXT STEP A T.V. ADD CAMPAIGN DEMONSTRATING SAFE DRIVING/RIDING HABITS ALSO GRAPHIC COMMERCIALS SHOWING WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DONT WEAR A HELMET (WATERMELON HEADED DUMMY WOULD DO THE TRICK)

NEXT STEP OVERLOADED TRUCKS /OVERWORKED BUS DRIVERS, ANOTHER T.V. COMMERCIAL CAMPAIGN TARGETTING THIS AREA TO RAISE AWARENESS, COMPANY RESPONSIBILITIES. If a leader could implement these sweeping changes for the better & show results, his/ her voter karma would skyrocket.clap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gif

  2. G,day all , I would like to bring my thai nephew to australia for a extended holiday over xmas then accompany my wife & son back to thailand in april, I will be sponsoring, sheltering him, I just got him a passport, he's never been outside thailand before, so I'm hoping it's gonna be straight forward, Now we are based in chaing-mai, can I do everything there? where is consulate in C.M.? can or do I need to use an agency ? any tips appreciated.

    thanking you songhklasid.biggrin.pngbiggrin.pngbiggrin.png

  3. I would be handing the parents 10000 baht as goodwill, then take your little princess on a months holiday & get to know each other, No shitholes like phuket, pattaya were she will be exposed to the scum of western society, but around isaan area or laos where she is familiar with language & food & you're both comfortable together, & go from there, sounds promising if you play you're cards right, keep in calm control of situation, bearing in mind on return to the village some sort of decision moving forward will be expected by all concerned, you could leave a bit of money & return later & do same thing if you need time to think it out.

  4. Yeah it's only talk @ this stage, but if your'e been to the LCC terminal @ kuala lumpar, It's all air asia international & domestic, I do remember interest from A.A. last year on moving to don muang before the flood issues & goverment woo's to relocate, Don't get me wrong, I don't particually like A.A. (I would rather fly nok ) but the convenience of it all seem's a no-brainer.

  5. G'day all the regulars @ K.C. kitchen, Phil & jaa here, we'll be in ubon 27 april till early may,few days in pakse, Laos to extend visa, How's lance & Tom, all's well I hope, I should be there for sat kebab nite, anyway keep them Leo,s yen yen, see you soon.

  6. I read in todays bangkok post that's just what there looking at, spend big dollars on don muang to bring it up to scratch, lower fees to attract more airlines, all u need is a designated express bus shuttle between the 2 airports, if you flew in from another country on air asia you woudn't have to transfer, bring it on.

  7. To me , it is all too simple, you hear swampy is to congested, so why not make D.M. home to all L.C.C. Air ASia could do short hop international, same for nok-air, bangkok airways & orient thai could all easily manage from don muang, leaving thai airways with tourist spot domestic transfers such as phuket, chaing-mai from swampy.Probably makes to much common sense for thai authorities.

  8. Songhklasid again, further to that, I built a house in the wife's village, (east of Chaing Mai) luv the village life, have a 21 speed pushbike for exercise laps around the village, early morning when it,s cool, the afternoon laps have beer pitstops @ porn's shop, you can live cheaply & eat well, last trip I included a 2 burner flat plate BBQ in my booked in luggage,What I'm saying you can westernize your base station then travel around, & I wouldn't rent or drive a car, transport is cheap & conveniant. Sometimes I spend the week in the village, then catch a 20baht bus to Chaing-mai city for the weekend & indulge in a sunday roast.

  9. I would consider keeping a residence in Aus, whether it be a small unit or something economical, & have extended long visits to L.O.S. travelling to different provinces or neighbouring countries, this way you don,t get bogged down, or bored with 1 spot & still have your exit plan (residence in Aus) I have been doing this on a smaller scale for 5 years now, there ain,t too many places in thai I haven.t been, bring on semi-retirement.

P.S. Down load the events calender & go from there.

  11. Yes, Koh Kood is pricey indeed and I think Koh Chang to stay and doing some day trips is quite a good idea. oo.

You do not need to go to Koh Kood for snorkeling, there is great places in shorter reach on the way to Koh Maak, too but a day trip to Koh Kood

is an excellent idea since the island is a real natural paradise, explore the beautiful waterfalls a other points of interest. If deciding to stay on Koh Chang,

let me know, I live here for many years and may be of help with info and tips.

If you are in Facebook, look out for Koh Chang Ticker, a great source run by a friend... Plenty of insider tips...

Thankyou for info, last time i was on koh chang was about 8 yrs ago, I stayed @ kai bae beach, kb resort, I liked that part & further south of island, but kb want 2000 baht/nite in april, any alternatives?

  13. My pet hate is people who walk on with bulky backpacks & huge carry on bags ( if i owned airline i would delight in refusing them boarding) you all know the ones, bigger bags than I have for a month's travelling, & then twist & squeeze past everyone because they didn't board at correct time, next second bags bumping into your head.

    anyway regards songhklasid B)B)B)
