  1. Will,

to get the WP renewed you need to get your visa renewed also. All the info you need is on this site, just follow the 10 steps guide.

My visa and WP expires this month, I followed the guide and went to get my extension this month. However I was accompanied by a Thai member of staff who (after three maybe four times of telling him about the documents I needed to produce) forgot to bring along the revelent documents. I suggest you get everything together and do it yourself.

  2. Has anyone here ever flown with BANGLADESH BIMANAIRLINES?

I had to get back to England a few years ago in a hurry, so I caught the next available flight which happened to be with Biman. I remember I paid about 13000 baht one way to London/Heathrow. I was very surprised and quite happy when I was quoted this price as I was expecting to pay much more for a flight at such short notice.

Once I boarded the plane I began to realize why the flight was so cheap. The stewards/hostesses were the rudest I have come across and the food was inedible.

We made an unscheduled stop in Rome as part of the wing had been damaged, O.K. no problem, better to be safe than sorry, however they would not let anyone off the plane to wait inside the airport, we waited four and a half hours on the runway while repairs were carried out. During this time a fight broke out between two men sitting behind me, and I am not talking about handbags here, also Italian cleaning staff came aboard and proceeded to clean the plane while we were still in our seats. These people were not so friendly and seemed pretty pissed off.

While we were waiting in the plane on the runway a man lit up a cigarette which didn’t go down too well with the staff. They frog marched him off the plane onto the runway and let him smoke there, I followed him onto the runway to get some fresh air and saw him standing there smoking about ten meters from the plane while it was being refueled. I could not believe my eyes!

During the last leg of the trip to London I got up to go the toilet and had my path blocked by a burly hostess, she told me I would have to wait as the seatbelt sign was on, no problem I waited for twenty minutes and the sign was still on, by this time I was bursting so I went the toilet. When I came out she was waiting for me and bundled me back to my seat saying something (I think a curse) in her language.

I was so relieved to get off that plane.

In future I always try to book my flights in advance but if I cannot I swear I will never fly with BANGLADESH BIMANAIRLINES ever again.

The flight took in all 18 hours, we had to stop in Dhaka for a couple and then another four in Rome, nightmare!

  3. everyera,

I would advise you find a decent hotel and leave your bags there, free of charge. That way if your plans change you dont have to worry about having to pay more money if you get delayed somewhere.

When i first came to Thailand I stored some bags in Hualamphong train station but I was paying 7 baht a day. It's 10 baht now I think.

I found a hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 8, called Crown Hotel, O.K, it's not the Hilton but for one night's stay (about 650 baht) you can leave your bags there as long as you like. It's a couple of minutes walk to the BTS so it is easy to get to.

I left my luggage there for near on eight months, no problems.

    Have a good trip :o

  4. I often go to places with my Thai girl and speak with ladyboys, they are not an "it" as some people would say, just people trying to get on with their lives. My girl loves chatting away with them and the people I have spoken to (apart from one) seem to be good people.  :o
  5. As far as I can see looking through my passport, I have never received a stamp with 5 digits. When entering Thailand via Bangkok you usually get an "A" stamp followed by three numbers. If you enter Thailand via Malaysia you will get a "B" stamp followed by two or three numbers.

Just to be clear, these numbers are on the outside edge of the stamp, yes?

  6. I do not care about who is right and who is wrong in this matter. I just think we should stick together on this one. Does anyone here have a list of the numbers of the entry stamps that are thought to be illegal? Sadoa B008 is one I have seen on this notice board. My friend has just got out of jail and is awaiting trial, his stamp number is B77. If anyone has a definite list of any other numbers please list them here so that other people can take action to avoid paying a ridiculous amount of money or worse.

  8. Thank's for the info, so just to make it clear, I go to Immigration and they will give me one month, then I go to the Labour Department for extension of the WP. I do this two or three times until I receive the year extension.

Would it not be better/cheaper for me to leave the country and get three month's on my visa and then apply for the one year extension?

  9. Can anybody help me?

I received a Non immigrant "B" visa in July from Penang, Malaysia in order to find work. I found work in Chonburi and received a work permit. The work permit expires this month along with the visa. What do I do now to renew my visa and permit? Do I need to leave the country every three months and return to labour department to renew the visa/permit or can I just get one extension in Bangkok?
