While you are enjoying the "fresh" air most of the year, you have to start paying income taxes if you are a tax resident and get nothing for your money, no health care and no immigrant status. Is that all worth it?

Assuming you have evidence, I wouldn't hesitate to counter sue for damages, costs, etc. This so called Thai lawyer is demonstrating their crude behaviour that is evident on the roads daily. Just the other day, I went to park my car legally on a side street. Some guy comes out and tells me to move my car as a truck was coming. I was still sitting in my car on the phone and when he went to walk away, he threatened to kick my car and I was parked on a public road.

I know of several other people, who were non smokers, and their lungs are sick too. There is no doubt anymore, get out and stay out of toxic Thailand. And also won't have to file a Thai tax return eventually reporting your world income and get nothing in return except cancer.

You will have to file a Thai tax return, get a tax number here and report the incoming transfer. You can account for double taxation on the Thai tax return. Eventually you will have to report your world income on the Thai tax return as Thai tax authorities will have this information already thanks to CRS started by Obama. If that doesn't help your decision then you can breathe the toxic air here most of the year and I mean toxic.

It is incredible that so many are willing to be subservient to being taxed, hiring accountants, etc. and not granted immigrant status, no free healthcare, etc. and breathe polluted air most of the year. There are other countries you can move to who won't tax you to death and give you nothing in return.

As written before, anyone residing in Thailand for more than 180 days a year will have to file a Thai tax return reporting their world income, all thanks to Obama. Thai tax people will have knowledge of what you have and earn in most countries, every year. Dual taxation will be addressed on the Thai tax return. As for foreigners, who will not be granted immigrant status nor given health care, etc., you will be paying income tax and getting nothing in return. I am not sure if it is even legal to force a tourist who resides here more than 180 days a year to file a tax return. They can keep their country.

We are all walking account receivables. Most doctors are in it for the money no doubt therefore I wouldn't trust 99% of them. If serious, 2nd opinions are a must.
