  1. Still clear as mud. They don't mention the most important thing which is the automatic exchange of asset and income info yearly between members of this OECD CRS agreement.
  2. Not a hope if Thailand proceeds with its proposed taxes and income and asset info swap with members of OECD.
  3. Covid cases, with new variants, will likely be soaring. And many can't wait to get to the front doors of Central Festival...
  4. So much for central bank independence.
  5. The Thai people got ripped off with Pita being eliminated and now they are seeing what a joke their justice system really is. Yet the people do nothing and so the politicians laugh all the way to Switzerland.
  6. The CRA agreement between Australia and Thailand is now activated which means if you stay here more than 180 days a year, you are liable for tax in Thailand. The Thai tax department will automatically get your financial info from Aussy gov. Suggest to go to another country.
  7. I am. And you are astute.
  8. It isn't proposed but a fact and has been in the works for years. It is an income and asset cooperating agreement between Thailand and most other countries and this info is updated yearly. The information goes both ways. If you reside in Thailand more than 180 days a year, you will be liable for tax on your world income and Thai tax authorities will know about it. So start packing.
  9. A convicted felon as an advisor to an appointed dictator. Christine Legarde, also a convicted felon, will soon advise Macron.
  10. Starting this year, Thailand is now part of the international income and asset reporting agreement. Your assets and income from outside Thailand will be reported to Thai authorities yearly and visa versa. Thailand is finished.
  11. Are they also preparing for covid variants to spike too?
  12. Already there are far too many people in this world.
  13. Why isn't the free visa available to all tourists no matter what country they come from? Prejudice plus. Writing in this forum will never change anything....
  14. How much did he pay and to whom? And again the Thai people are sleeping. If you steal a candy bar from 7-11, you will likely get 5 years hard time.
  15. You have no idea what you are talking about. Study first before blabbing.
  16. Where did Abbas get his PhD, in a crackerjack box? He is extremely ignorant and only makes complex matters worse. Israel has made important technological inventions; what have the Palestinians contributed to the world? Israel is simply defending itself. The Palestinians don't need to worry, Air Canada is waiting for them at the airport !
  17. Normally money flows to higher interest rate country (western) except Switzerland is an exception. Thailand is not Switzerland. Baht is very heavily manipulated as are the interest rates. And yes interest rates here are pathetic.
  18. The baht is grossly overvalued for numerous reasons and will depreciate a lot against the USD over time.
  19. A lot more food on the floor and in women"s purses at all you can eat buffets. I haven't met a Thai yet who even likes Chinese. Don't forget mile long lineups at the airports too.
  20. Remote work on a limited tourist visa?
  21. Perhaps she has HIV.
  22. Except my originating bank only uses wire transfer and nothing else is permitted.
  23. Your bank makes money on the conversion of sterling to baht. Read carefully what I wrote.
  24. If you wire Thai baht to Thailand from outside Thailand, the funds first go to the Bank of Thailand and then to Siam Commercial Bank. They deduct 1000 baht and then reroute the money to the final destination bank who helps themselves to a further 795 baht in Bangkok Bank's case. This is excluding the wire fee from the originating bank. If you wire USD to Thailand, it always goes via JPM in NY who takes $50 US to reroute funds to your Thai Bank, who again charge money to receive the funds plus make money converting the USD to THB. What a racket.
  25. This is a civil matter not criminal.
