  1. It is probably quite simple. Thaksin will not get a visa to enter any country if the country doesnt grant visas to convicted criminals.

By the way anyone heard what his son was shouting in a Chiang Mai bar?

"The best is yet to come"?

Somewhat more controversial than that shall we say. Wonder if Suthep will use it in the case Thaksin has brought against him.

so whats the scoop ? a linky ?

can't find any mention of this on BP.

    who blogged it ?

  2. For example, I am going to Malaysia with my TGF so I send her 1000 baht to make passport.
What does she need the passport for?

just so you don't have to read and comprehend the original post.

and brian you are being played , the other sponsor might well be a Thai who was calling his wife at certain times :o

  3. Corruption? His wife bought a land. No mistake was found.

He, being her husband, signed ok for her to buy, as per the law.

he was corrupt and he has never been a smart businessman and the thai police were his personal army.

the shame is that the Thai people ever elected him in the first place. who would want scum like that representing your country on the world stage ?

  4. are they connecting to a remote VPN server or running the server inside their network ?

I use a 54GL at home here with tomato +openVPN mod running a server and I also run 3 concurrent TAP32 interfaces on my laptop with VPN tunnels connecting me to 3 diff VPN servers ( 54gl , tomato+openVPN mod ) outside Thailand and do not have a problem.

being able to tune and tweak the QoS also can make a large difference to the speed.

  5. All of this about antennas really goes over my head.

Not understanding all this, so maybe this question is stupid.

If you lose a lot of the advantage of an antenna due to the length of cable, is it possible to have the set up near the antenna with a wireless router sending to the computer?

keeping the cable length short to minimise losses is common. having good quality and skilled crimped connections also cuts down on losses. The problem I think with the modem in question is it is a USB device so it needs to be connected to a computer. ( there maybe some wifi routers that will accept the USB modem ).

you could either run ethernet/LAN cable from the modem device or wifi. I think the CAT CDMA modem problem is the only modem with an external aerial connection is the USB one.

  6. and maybe it is parallax error but are both the yagis in you photo pointing in the same direction ?

whoops - actually enlarged the photo and saw one was dtac :o

can you look in the setting of the modem and see what the SnR is ?

  7. because of the horrible bank charges when doing international transfers and some downright criminal exchange rates I was considering opening a SCB account and sending the ATM to Aust.

does anyone else do this , and can they clue me up on the charges and which exchange rates are used - and maybe which ATMs in Aust are best to use.

getting stung by the banks at both ends of the bank transfer does not seem like the most efficient way to move money around.

when I withdraw money from a BKK Bank ATM with my Sing HSBC card it costs me 8 sing dollars here , if I was to transfer the money it would cost 34 SGD to HSBC and another 60 SGD to BKK bank. ( though I get BKK bank onshore rates - tfer in SGD )
