  1. Hi Jai Dee I think you forgot this one;AN Aukland University class was told they had to write a short story in as few words aspossible. The instructions were: The short story had to contain the following threethings:(1) Religion (2) Sexuality (3) Mystery Below is the only A+ short story in the entire class. "Good God, I'm pregnant; I wonder who did it."

  2. I have to gree, it's Man.U. for me

After watching last nights game against Wigan I felt the whole confidence of the team grow and this from a side with the following now on the treatment table :-

:Van der Sar, Neville, Saha, Fletcher, Carrick, Hargreaves, Park, Brown, Vidic, O'Shea Silvestre.

Imagine what the team will be like if we ever get full strength - Absolutely Awesome.

  3. Does anyone know the origin of the scum that is floating on the sea at Mai Khao beach near Turtle Cove?

There is a greyish foam settling on the beach and today, there is also a strong smell which I cannot identify.

I am increasingly concerned about the amount of rubbish that accumulates along the whole of the beach as far as Nai Yang which is particularly bad near the airport.

Although the Marine Turtle Foundation clear the beach on a regular basis a similar amount of plastic bags, shoes, polystyrene foam etc is washed up the very next day after being cleared. Much more needs to be done particularly in this area as it is often promoted as prime nesting area for giant leatherbacks. I must admit that I have seen more dead turtles on that stretch of beach in the last four years than living ones. I'm sure that the money spent on the giant concrete eggs that have been put on the roadside leading to the 'Phuket Gateway' could have been put to better use along with similar projects.

Such as on an advertising campaign "DO NOT LITTER"

I live near Nai Yang Beach and every year in low season the amount of rubbish that finishes up here is appalling. The local all do there bit in removing it but it all keeps coming back again.

  4. Chavy -he'll be the guy chained to the chair. :D

Scouse -He'll be the guy in a shellsuit, with a TV under his arm. :D

Mig- Probably eating chocolates, but will have an Arsenal shirt on. :D

    mrtoad- barefooted. :D

:o Must be a quite interesting group of people at the table. Hope I spot it EASILY.

I hope someone remembers to book the urine testers ! As it sounds like one h_lluva p_ss-up

  5. O.K. I accept that I could have phrased the thread title differently - It wasn't meant to be Brit-Bashing (though I must admit to having a lend of a rather inept sporting race) I was merely trying to point out a very sad story that took 70 YEARS to rectify ! and whilst on the subject of England, isn't it true that last week a pensioner near London was issed an Anti Social Behavior Order for playing his Vera Lynn records to loudly !!

One has to hand to the English for eccentricity.

    :o

  6. O'Shea is the safe option, as you know what you are going to get, a solid no frills player with a good engine. Anderson, still an unknown quantity in the EPL, personally I'd go with the later against a team like Wigan who are destined for relegation. If it doesn't work in the first half then O' Shea can always come on, but United should have too much quality.

Yes you may well be right, though what may stuff things up, is if Wes Brown is unavailable, then O'Shea (Mr.Versatility) would be needed at right back.

What I will do this evening is eat prawns, the reason behind this ? During the past 3 seasons every time I have failed to eaten prawns on match day Man Utd loose. (I am not sure if S.A.F. is aware of this and whether or not to invoice him for this seasons worth of prawns )

  7. its a fair drive to ranong from phuket, jeebusjones, and no international airport. i would suggest you meet your parents in phuket if you can.

    positives for this are:

cheap airfares (if you need to come from bkk?),

    plenty of accom,

    lots to do,

    not too much traveling time

plenty of western food for them (assuming that as they dont travel too well that they will be after western food).

Sound advice, coupled with access to many islands close by, not much to see & do in Ranong - You can do a short hop to Koh Lak or Krabi if you prefer, but plenty to do in and around Phuket

  8. My friend who lives alone (but in a friendly moobahn) turned 80 and still manages to do his visa renewals each year. It is a chilling thought that motivates me to move to northeast Mexico so if worse comes to worse, I can be attended by numerous family members with geriatric experience.

and how are we going to recognize the symptoms if it's too late ??

  9. i ask this question !!

    because

    have last night a nightmare!

    .

i am old- can not walk

    bad memory and disabled speaking"

and can not go to make the

    visa extensions.

    i am home ,and immigration

coming and i have to leave

    Thailand!

is there a way to do it?

    retirement" o" visa)

    (extensions

    in this situation

mabe -the wife can do it

I know of one guy here in Phuket who comes every year for 6 months or so, and he still gets a car with driver and goes upto Ranong, does the long-tail boat trip there & back and returns to Phuket same day and he is 84. !! He was in Bomb disposal at the end of WW2 and in Palestine just after the war - so he does tend to be a bit wacky - Oh that I shall be so lucky.

  10. O.K. Guys It's time to start thinking ahead to the game against Wigan, and we have a bit of an injury problem in mid-field, who are we going to get to partner Scholsey as Carrick, Hargraves and Fletcher are all injured ? Switch Giggsy back there or would you go with O'Shea or maybe even give the new guy Anderson a try ? Thoughts anyone.

  11. Depnds what clan you are Ken...My jock mates say never trust a Campbell (I think he sold out to Longshanks :D )

Certainly not a lover of the McDonalds.

Yep, those lads have got a lot to answer for :D

Yeah, i prefer Burger King as well :D

Doesn't take long to loose a thread here eh. All I was trying to do was "have a lend of Jockstar" him being stuck there in Sydney is it ? and me from just about everywhere ( and I have even played Dundee on a wet & windy wednesday as a theatre tech many years ago) though I am an Oz (Born a Pom - some things you just don't get a say in)

Cheers guys - shame I can't join you for a beer in BKK but I'm very happy here in Nai Yang N.W.Phuket and am a football tragic.

Ok Ken mate, one thing you can be sure about is a full & detailed report following on Sunday morning from someone I'm sure, If Legag turns up in a cheerleader outfit complete with pompom as threatened i'm positive photo's will be posted :D

Spare us all the gory details - one with a modicum of decorum will suffice !
