I would wager that embassy and consulates are processing higher a than average number of lost passport requests in light of the visa crackdown... A clean passport gives you a clean start at the borders...
But don't they have a history for each people in the inmigration computers ?
Yes - I lost a passport in Bangkok in late 1990's, up until two years ago every time I entered, they would pause, look at me and say "Did you loose a passport in 19XX"
Note I go through passport every two to three years with work, so even after 4 new passports they "Knew" exactly who I was.

<<The man claimed to police that he was a hot model; however, they couldn’t find any proof of his hot modeling career, Khaosod reported.>>
I dunno, the photo isn't bad, he does look like a model, was he posing for it, adjusting his contacts or put in eye drops?

<<a man in the back fired four to five bullets at them before escaping.
The three students each caught one bullet.>>
Please don't try this at home or after drinking, bound to end in tears

Water with a squirt of washing up liquid will do the trick.
Funny this comes up, I taught my wife last weekend this trick, it's good.

The resort you mention you stayed at is very popular, I often tell people to book as companies book it out for seminars etc.
The restaurant is part of it, the bingalows are about 150 baht cheaper than the two rooms side by side with the tree grow in in them, I like those rooms but always choose a bungalow.
Glad you had a good trip

In the past various Embassy's I'd dealt with had a variety of web site domains, so government, many just a local domain, and the web sites all looked different.
Also as many here know the requirements varied considerably,
I have just found
http://www.thaiembassy.org/main/
And looking at a few country web sites, the information is now consistent, and updated August 1, 2014.
Not a bad thing I think, some Embassy's in the past had been too easy, some too hard, now it will be a more even playing field I hope,

care to show ONE example where a double entry tourist visa has been refused after a 7 day trip out?
No one knows, that's the point, who wants to be the first?

I'm in Sawang now, Mukdahan is a nice city, I quite like it, riverfront is the way to go.
There is a historic museum on the South of the town, it's inside a weird looking tower, quite interesting and good information about the history

Rice planting Season, we could go an extra pairs of hands!
Why don't you try teaching, there are at least 8 young/not old farang teachers employed legally in Sawang Daen Din
Wife does home stay's, but it's not for the faint hearted

German bar I believe gone, haven't looked, Nana's is . . . . .
"Walking street" is your best bet for bars.

Ford is made here, not a grey import
Thanks bkkjames,
I already had a Ford "Exploder" years ago in the US, and don't really want the hassles of a grey-market car in Thailand.
I just find it odd that there is such a gap in the middle of the SUV lineup.

Out last night a number of police checkpoints, for drink driving, army there to make sure they do it, along with some army "Selfies" with police.
Maybe a good thing, but how about paying the Police a living wage so they don't have to be part of problem.

BOI does a good job with this, as does Software Park, and other initiatives,

The cost of the box in all I have seen is about $20, or less, so basically it's a "freEEE" box
The sale price for nearly all of them has been a little over 1000baht

Not my area, but good luck, it is a nice area though, some good rides on the bike I suspect,
I made a number of Thai friends in my part of the world, maybe spend a weekend in KK?

Piaggio is a beautiful aircraft, jet engine performance at prop costs, plane itself is not cheap, 6M new, second hand can be around 1.5 at the lowest, but very very efficient, and low cost to run

Indian Embassy outsources (not joking) the visa process, same company that does Australia and a few others.
They have an online application, you do need to show up at some stage,

Not correct, many Nun's and Monks share a common Wat, obviously not rooms,
Living in a monastery with monks? NO WAY.
Well where do you think the Thai nuns live?
Thai Nuns have their own place not at the same monasteries afaik

I'm impressed by the young pregnant wife, she ran off for help, came back, then got him to a hospital, not easy for any young lady to do, she seems like a pretty good wife, regardless of age,

The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride - Bangkok/Pattaya
in Motorcycles in Thailand
Posted
Given it's for charity and fun, heck, if the theme was bikini's I'd wear one, maybe, seems like a good cause and some fun, Vimeo has some video's of the rides around the world, Singapore was a nice surprise.
