The White House has just issued a statement following Donald Trump's acquittal.

    Here it is in full:

Today, the sham impeachment attempt concocted by Democrats ended in the full vindication and exoneration of President Donald J. Trump. As we have said all along, he is not guilty. The Senate voted to reject the baseless articles of impeachment, and only the President’s political opponents – all Democrats, and one failed Republican presidential candidate – voted for the manufactured impeachment articles.

In what has now become a consistent tradition for Democrats, this was yet another witch-hunt that deprived the President of his due process rights and was based on a series of lies.

thanks Bazza! If only Hansen could get her act together and emulate Trump!

Burning makes it easier to cut by hand.

    Have you ever tried it?

The husk they burn is very sharp and difficult to cut by hand.

Once you burn that, the stock is very easy to cut.

Plus burning gets rid of any large snakes lurking.

In Australia "green" harvesting is the norm! It's better for the farmer and produces more sugar! Apart from "bagas" (the cane residue after the sugar has been extracted) who on earth would burn untreated sugar cane? This country has some very odd farming practices?

Even given the dubious facts you have quoted, they don't support the conclusion you have drawn.

The op hasn't considered the impact on local communities, 200,000 people spending 600 baht a day = 120m baht a day! x 4 (the common multiplier for benefits to the community) becomes 480M Baht a day!!! This money would be totally lost to the economy!

It would have the same effect on Thailand as loosing Ranong province or Nan! Do you think that Thailand wouldn't notice the loss of THB 175,200,000,000 a year from it's economy?

Very bad. But I wished also people would be stopped to use electronic devices for vaping at every corner here in Thailand. It is much worse than smoking for others since a lot of "smoke" is created. Since I can see it now so often I am really surprised that nothing happens. I have thought it is not allowed...

The "smoke" you see is moisture with traces of nicotine, which, by the way, is good for you!

My dog thinks getting rid of the critters is his job and he will deal with any poacher who dosen't have a work permit. He deals with rats and poacchers (Snakes) with equal distain.

Yep, I try and try to save the good ones but I've 3 "snake" dogs who don't even say sorry!

Just curious; do the Aussie's have Smoke-jumpers?

No, the fires move so fast that the "jumpers would in all likelihood be trapped and die (no way to get them out), people don't realise how hot the ground gets, six months after the "Ash Wednesday" fires ,the ground 2 meters down, was so hot that it would cause paper to catch fire!! So they couldn't even dig in to save themselves!

true, sugars and bad oils probably the worst ingredients and since I'm not a fish sauce fan I give the majority of it a pass - I cook daily to ensure my wife and I eat healthy..

fish sauce is 37% salt! Think about it when you watch Thai people pour the sauce on...it's like putting a teaspoon of salt on your meal!!!
