there's no point in losing a nationality, would you want to lose your EU nationality because you got thai national...???
certainly not cause you have advantages on both sides especially when it comes to asian countries where the restrictions are enormous against foreigners.

well prison gives you the time to think as you're between walls and can go out only to take fresh air one hour a day, this is the rule when you're being arrested until the judge decides something else.
of course in that case a small amount of time like a month is more than enough to make them realize what they did and send them then to reeducation or something like that...

yep their crime is called murder attemp at second degree, using drugs is severely punished in thailand while you're mostly only killing yourself wich is your personnal matter, there it's a baby that has no way to react exept crying so why should they be forgiven?

Nothing like leaving the child in a safe place then.

Hope the child is well and the mother gets some help and guidance.

left between rears of two vehicles.i hope they'll be found and severely punished by prison, this kind of behaviour is awfull, if they don't want a baby wich is normal at that age, they can at least buy condom and enjoy sex safely...

Most of the limit issues I've read about deal with multi entry tourist.

If I slip that guy my room&phone number do you think I might get approved for a year visa? (you know the guy I'm talking about)

definitely need more Burger Kings
i hope they'll do the same price as mac donalds, burger king is way too expensive.
-
the cheap rental is vanishing by the crazy electricity price, in thailand a Kw is 3.5 bath you are charged twice the governement price.
i was charged 7 bath/Kw but i don't use the aircon, just a fridge, hot shower, fan and my laptop that is turned on 24/24 i was paying 500/month.

a friend of mine had to stay in hospital(samui inter) for two months, the hospital manage an extension of 2-3 month on his single entry non-B but they did it before he was on overstay.

yep in belgium it's the same, the consulate is closed only for national belgian holiday or staff/consul holiday.
Not sure if this is the right section or not. We would like to arrange for a Cambodian housekeeper's visa/work permit to enter Thailand. Anybody out there know the procedure? Before the flame's start about just have her walk accross the border, we would really like too due all legally
hire a thai housekeeper, more simple, cheaper and you won't remove someone from his country.
-
Considering the previous answer, are you really sure you wanna buy something in thailand instead of rent it?
24th is OK.
You will get 90 days on your Multiple entry Non-O

Thanks for the fast reply, I will look in to Nong Khai.

Im wondering about the date in my passport, 24th of August, should I do the border crossing actually on the 24th or the day before on the 23rd? Or does it not matter? I assume they will know to give me another 90 days coming backing in.

Cheers
Nong Khai on the Thai/Laos border. You may have to take bus to Khon Khen or Udon and then onward to Nong Khai.guessing is not something good when it comes to visa for thailand
more details on your visa may help to get a good answer.
I hope this helps.
In April the employment office in Chiangmai told me not to let my work permit expire as they now require the 2 million Baht to be in the bank before issuing a new one but if you possess one then no problem. Also in April they issued a one year work permit as opposed to 3 months running alongside my visa, the cost was 3400 Baht.

this must be a mistake or a lack of business knowloedge from the officier you saw, if the two million bath of capital are still in the bank , how can the company buy tools, vehicules, rent offices and all things required to start a business
Should I do what my g/f asks and give her a baby so she can give it to her mum?

(Her mum has only 3 children at the moment and wants more.)
Ask your Thai partner how many children her grandmothers had. Now how many grandchildren do they have? Will the last Thai child please turn out the lights?Maybe she should learn that kids need their parents and are not toys?

yes you're right after a look on wikipedia high octane has nothing to do with "power" of the fuel, it's indeed dependant of your engine design.

a little off topic but i'd like to understand how they name the gasoline here.
in europe the numbers are used to qualify the purity of gasoline so 95 is higher than 91 and thus more expensive while here it's the opposite.
could someone explain this please?
thanks
Looks okay to me. I think the Baht 20,000 is a little high, but acceptable.

remember this is the maximum they can charge, by the past the maximum was 10000 and it was never asked.
My lawyer has also offered me a 1 yr multi entry visa for 30K done at a Thai Immigration office. Which I will leave unnamed.
Currently I do 3 monthly runs which are timely & costly.
So it is an attractive option.

a multi entry visa non-B costs 5500 bath, i just had one from malaysia , of course i had to do the trip, take the risk to be refused but finally it"s done.
goiing out of the country doesn't costs too much if you don't take those "visa runs" packages wich are expensive.
by exemple in samui to malaysia border : 1900 bath by minibus
by yourself : 450 bath from nathon to hatyai, 100 to border, 60 to go back to hatyai, 450 night bus to samui, a trip of 24 hours but much more safe than those crazy minibuses. total cost : 1060 bath.
in samui we have also those passeport trips offered but they costs more around 20k bath and you get non-O multi entries.
-
I asked for and received one on the 16th of July08 from immigration as I have in the past and still there was no charge.
in samui they charge 500 bath, no matter if you bring pictures or not.
they issue two copies and share the money the end of the day

That visa renewal technique may be less sterssful, but doesn't it involve sending your passport out of the country without you, and is therefore illegal? There were signs up on the Nong Khai immigration posts recently warning against doing this, and threatening those who are caught with legal action.

Have the rules changed?
I have found law firm that specialised in visa's and permits that gaurantees, I recieved my type B within 4 days without leaving the country. This is the first time i have applied for a B type having had a non 'O' for the last 2 years. It's all above board and not under the table stuff.

I'm not sure what the cost differences of travelling out of the country Vs this law firm is, however it cost me 20k in total, but was totally stressles.

They also guarantee a permit for those who are teaching, but don't have enough details to acquire one, degree etc. Providing you have details from your employer (and a TEFL if you intend to teach) they can obtain a letter from the ministry of education to acquire a permit.

Not sure if this is helpful to anyone but if you need the contact info then please PM me.I saw those warnings in the narathiwat border also.

i'm just back from narathiwat, it's impressive all the military/police stops on the main roads.
