1.
I have heard that visa runs are being offered to KB now as the consulate has been issuing multi-entries. Assume as runs are being done from Samui, then there have been some recent successes. Are any of those successes members? Have you got any reports?

I will go if there I hear some positives, otherwise just back to Penang as at least I can get some home comforts there!
i'm one of those to get success in kota baru for non-B multi entry using who you know ;-)

don't bother go without him it will certainly not work, i saw people without WP3 and balance sheet getting a non-B single entry using his services.

  2.
another myth about gas tanks. i don't know what happened with this bus, but car pressurized gas tanks don't just explode. usually they leak so the gas will come out and that all. even if they are of bad quality.
maybe it's misslabelled, the pressure was too strong or the tank was too weak it breaked and all the gas went out at once thus creating a look like explosion.

  3. Thats my kind of visarun. Think i will try that the next time! :o

Anyway, all you other people who seem to be in a real hurry (can´t beleive anybody would ever join a roadtrip with a guy that calls himself schumacher, but thats me, silly guy who prior safety on the trips and value my life perhaps to high), you guys should really try herberts visa-run. Say what you want about good old herbiebut he sure is fast!!!

i tried the visa trip with herbert(to go to malaysia buy a visa), it was not as described, the driver(thai) was driving correctly and in a safe manner, surely due to the previous accident that occured in mars.

  4. I stopped at the 7/11 in Bo Phut next to Fisherman's Village to get money out of the Bank of Ayudhya ATM there, walked up to the ATM and instead of seeing yellow, I saw blue! They have completely switched out the ATM to be a BKK Bank ATM!

I'm just curious why this would happen, and yes, I am very sure it was always a BOA ATM before.

    PA

it's as interesting as the opening of a new optical shop :o

  5. I moved away from the lake area 1,5 years ago. :o

you can here that black moon party all the way in bohput as iff the party was in the back garden

the problem nowadays is the power of audio installation, even if the volume is set low(speaking for individuals) the sound is going far from the listening point thus creating trouble for the neighbours...

  6.
Done the speed test 180.3mbps
isn't it more 180.3 kbps wich would be 1.5 mbps

your solution is extremely intereresting considering the cheap price per month and avoiding to have to install a new cable.

i went to a nightmare story to get internet in my home(see my post in the samui section) and i wasn't aware of that solution.

  7.
My friend just arrived from Penang with only 3-months single entry Non-B.
Normally he would have got 1 year Non-B.
The reason was that in company papers there was only restaurant/pub as activity.
Has there also been guesthouse, then it would have been no problem.

He has six rooms to rent out so he's going to remake the company papers now.

Anyone else heard of this or is this only a Penang thing?
the consul has a great fun to refuse multi entries, next time maybe his guest house will not generate enough income for him or something else, in case or it would be possible for him to get multi entry in penang, he might want to be sure his work permit is still valid for 9-6 months as this is one of the reason KL does refuse to give multi entries.

  8. a good thing to help your glycemia and fat to go down would be as suggested to do exercise everyday preferably cardio like bicycle 30-40 minutes/day and check your sugar level to not fall into hypo while performing the exercise.

it would good also to read about "glycemic index", some aliments contain fast sugar(saccharose(65)and glucose(95)) while others do contain slow sugar(fructose(20) lactose(46)) <-- the values are those from the index(the lower the better).

also fructose is more "taste powerfull" than normal sugar by 20 to 70% according to my readings so you'll benefit of a slow assimilated sugar wich a stronger flavour.

on a side note i think that alcool should be banned as ethanol will be transformed by your liver to fast sugar.

of course better listen to your doctor first, he knows better(normally) your particular situation than those websites wich might not be always accurate.

i hope you'll return to a normal glycemia soon.

  9.
how can you posy your passport back to the uk for a visa? Does that mean for instance if I went to Laos or Malaysia for a month I would have to get it sent back there?? Also dont immigration in teh Uk have a log of when your passport goes in and out of the country?? So when you get it back and try to leave the country your in and enter back to Thailand, wont that cause problems??? Also where the hel_l woudl you get it sent to?
the passeport can travel without you, slip it into an envellope and it's ready for a new trip without any stamp...

the goal here is to get a visa without any much trouble, hull and other consulates in the world have a friendly policy to deliver visa, multi entries without a problem, no risk to be refused etc etc.

but to do this you have to stay in a country other than thailand and send your passeport by dhl, fedex or whatever, a friend or the consulate will receive it and send it back with the visa to your adress in the foreign country.

it's a good solution but at high cost, the express shipping fees by dhl for a passeport(200g) from belgium to thailand are 80 euros °_° ....

i'm glad i had my non-B multi entries recently in malaysia, saves me time and money.

wifi will do the job quite good , don't think that people sharing the connection with you(if any) will be using the network key to decrypt your packets.

there's no place that i know that would offer LAN connection to the room, it's simply useless as people don't come here to do lan parties

Maybe the OP does not have wifi on his laptop.

it's possible but if interested i got wifi cards to sell if interested.

best thing to do is move to a quiet area, i moved to maenam few weeks ago even if the distance is bigger , i don't regret it.

i hear nothing exept bugs and wind...

easy to say, (move away) who will by my house with this nice neighborehud, wehr u can,t sleep
sorry to hear you own the house, it's indeed a true trouble here, one day can be a dream and the next day someone opens a bar or anything beside your house and you're stuck with noise until 2AM or more...
