  1. A few facts in detail:

38,000 electricity users (meters) in Samui

    90'000kWh power consumption per day

    62'000 local population (official registered)

if you want to know how much is the average power that is available per electricity meter (one house, one family)

    just divide 90'000/38'000 = 2.368421kWh

w00t.gif that's only 2368.421W, or with other words, my aircon can work 2h and my daily power contingent is depletet.

actually you're confused, the kW(h) means per hour not per day so you can run your aircon all day long with your fridge and other appliances without any problem.

  2. No worries to run 4 strokes engines on gasohol, the only adverse effect might be corrosion inside carburator and damage the rubber seals but these get damaged anyway and need replacement from time to time.

i'm running an old mio since more than 5 years on gasohol, no issues and a lot of KM on the teller by now.

91 gasoline is red while 91 one gasohol is green.

  3. in pattaya a honda bike scoopy, click, airblade injection models (108CC) are 2500 per month, can be found in here for 3000

in pattaya PCX 125cc is 4500 per month can be found in here for 5000

prices are not that different in here but now it's high season and prices are sky rocketting as supply are going low.

let me know what he wants and when, i might have one of my bikes available.

  4. your phone will be locked to your provider in the states unless it is verizon(sim unlocked by default) and there's no unlock for iphone 5 unless your operator does it, so it's gonna be an ipod if you decide to go that way.

duty is 5% on phones and you'll have to pay VAT 7% on the top and 7% on the shipping fees.

  5. here's a document containing informations and facts regarding the power supply on the islands.

Please call Mr Sorchai as he signed this letter and ask why the hell is the still a problem.

the main supply is perfectly fine but the electrical grid in koh samui is still the same as before so a local failure can happen anytime.

  6. hi,

this thread might get locked up but i just wanted to warn potential buyers of "fresh" products at sanpet that the cheese in the fridge is rotten.

in my case i bought some bega sliced cheese and when back home i noticed there was some green stuff inside, needless to say the product is good to be thrown away.

while i was shopping, i was amazed at how the 5kg mozzarella product priced down to 1200....

beware, they don't run their fridges on generator nor do they throw away the products like 7/11 does and still continue to sell them to customers.
