  1. Mastercard (ABNAMRO) mails by courier from Holland to Thailand.

Seperate letter with pincode and seperate letter for phone activation.

Amex Refuses to mail but inform and instruct Amex BKK to issue a card with their info included in it.

(cost me a drive from Korat to Bkk!)

  2. I have friends, (American husband and wife) that have retired here and have contributed to the Thai economy each month to the tune of around 80,000 to 100,000 baht each and every month for several years. Now the Thai government wants to drive these people out??

If thats the case then they will both easily qualify, it doesn't effect that couple at all.

wrong. It should be 130.000 baht each and every month under the "new" law!

  3. ALLEGED NEW VISA REGULATIONS – The ThaiVisa web site reported that there were new regulations effective September 1st, which would require dependents of holders of a retirement visa to qualify for an extension on their own. Thus a spouse, if 50 or older would need to also meet the income requirement separate from those his or her spouse. A spouse under 50 or dependents would not be able to have their visas extended based on their spouse/parent having a retirement visa. It now appears that this report is a hoax and completely false. We talked with Barry Kenyon Thursday afternoon (September. 6th) - he stated that he has asked, through his contacts with Immigration in Pattaya to query Immigration Management in Bangkok about it. They stated that they have not issued such regulations, and knew nothing about them. According to Barry, Pattaya Immigration is renewing dependents of holders of Retirement Visa's as normal - married couples are being renewed as they always have been - the spouse's qualification is automatically approved if the husband is approved.

Time to stop with all this (true or false :o ) information.

Only information with the 100% exact names/references please.

Above with:"through his contacts-They stated "and so on is not good enough for me.

I only believe info from the people who really could or could not do their extension this last week.Where are they?????????????

  4. They start calling it windows LIVE hotmail and all functions within hotmail and messenger and so on are automatically connected.

(sorry I am not such a it freak)

Since this sofisticated bussiness started ,I got more trouble than ever before.

My last trouble with messenger was reported to the helpdesk.I received answer withiin 3 hours.

    4(four) pages of intructions.!

I was still busy to translate that all when the solution came up by it self. :o

  5. I had it the other way around this morning (and still):

Can open hotmail e-mail box but cannot open messenger.

I found lately many many failures since it became "LIVE"

Last week I lost messenger (error 80072ee7),without doing anything it returns after 4 (four!!) days.

  6. I also used Asian Tigers.

I had made it very clear that I don't want to be troubled by custom clearance discussions!

They need the passport in the morning (they collect it at the hotel) end it was returned the same day.

NO money (not one setang!) was paid to them.(we also had the common clause in our contract about being responsible for any custom clearance amount)

We had a 40 ft container full loaded.

May be the invoiced amount was already covering for these kind of "expenses"? :o

    This was end 2004

  7. Anong's husband and village chief Rerm is angry at his drinking habits over the past 30 years. "I spent about Bt50,000 a year. If I hadn't, it would be a lot of money now."

This is over 1,000 baht per day......this can't be right...I guess the alcohol has rotted his brain.

    Inded,your calculation is not right.

What about around 135 baht a day (still quite a sum for poor people tho)

  8. I will be in Korat very soon and cant wait,,,miss the LOS so much.

Does anyone have any advice where I would be able to see the MotoGP from Assen ,Holland on Saturday?

    Restuarants/bars or even Hotel?

Any advice is most welcome :o

    Cheers

All motoGP's are always on UBC

    Saterday at 15.57 hour on ESPiT,channel 65

  9. Not so brilliant stevehaigh.

The 800,000 does not need to be spent and the same sum can be used for subsequent and multiple renewals.

Please get your facts straight before making erroneous postings.

Your answer is also a little bit quick :o

Despite my bank letter, confirming having the 800.000 + on my account and a letter from the Embassy, the immigration officers always request for my bankbook (3 successive years already) and in Suan Plu as well as in Korat (last 2 years).

As you are not allowed to work,I suppose they really like to know where this amount is coming from and /or what is spent during the year.

  10. Must be about a half year ago since the last fight was on UBC(always on Fridays).

I suppose they ran out of money as they have to rent air time for these fights :o

Also the K1 fights (japan)are gone.

As to Weho , he simply has no idea about how highly trained these fighters are.And yes...there are rules!

  11. Most likely the antenna dish is not aligned correctly.

Tip - Next time the UBC staff come to service it (if they come at all) - watch the tech. & learn how to align it yourself. Not too hard...

    Cheers,

    Soundman.

No idea, that is a part of the deal.

    2 1/2 year member,never seen anybody. :o

My only problem with UBC is the delivery of their magasin.

Delivery between 7 and 23 (!) days in the running month.

Numerous phonecalls proved to be without any improvement :D
