It would be rather foolish to think that the government will be handling the transaction. Government is not a trading enterprise. The purchase would rather be done by the trading arm of the government. The submarine manufacturer will probably be very much involved and so will be the auxiliary weaponries and spare parts from other manufacturers. Then the logistic of moving the submarine in-land and off-shore. Maybe that account for the 17 payment and lots of brown envelopes greasing the palms along the way. Just my morning thoughts.

Yes exactly Eric by 17 installments their is a lot of brown envelopes involved.

Could well be true however I suspect Singapore might well have the means to quickly identify the man at the booth on a xxx passport is actually the same guy wanted on an arrest warrant for the vehicle man slaughter of a cop in Thailand, and with a flag from interpol (?), and they might well refuse entry and perhaps even detain him.

Singapore doesn't mess around with situations like this, they act.

Actually they mess a lot. Their are 6 fugitives from China that are living in Singapore but they bring a lot cash with them. A lot of Indonesians that are wanted in Indonesia are residing in Singapore because they took the stolen cash with them.

  3. There will be 17 instalments for the first sub, Grisdapron said. Bt700 million will be paid this year and approximately Bt2.1 billion paid in annual sums from 2018 to 2023.

Very fishy. Normally a Bank Guarantee would be issued and to be paid at delivery. Having 17 payments means a lot of parties are getting a cut out of it. This bank guarantee would then be used to offer the supplier to get the financing done or at least get factoring service with a government linked bank in China. Interestingly no G2G deal.

  4. They have been saying that Thailand wants to be a Jewelry Hub for such a long period of time.

The Top 15 countries in the world are:

China: US$18.6 billion (19.1% of total jewelry exports)

    Switzerland: $11.1 billion (11.3%)

    India: $10 billion (10.2%)

    United States: $9.7 billion (9.9%)

    Hong Kong: $6.7 billion (6.9%)

    Italy: $6.3 billion (6.4%)

    United Kingdom: $6.2 billion (6.4%)

    France: $4.5 billion (4.6%)

    Turkey: $3.8 billion (3.8%)

    Thailand: $3.6 billion (3.7%)

    Singapore: $2.8 billion (2.9%)

United Arab Emirates: $2.7 billion (2.7%)

    Malaysia: $1.7 billion (1.7%)

    Germany: $1.7 billion (1.7%)

    Japan: $1.6 billion (1.7%)

Thailand and Singapore are the Jewelry Hub of ASEAN for the past 5 years.

I wonder why having 3 years of work permit is needed ? It should only be based on having a yearly visa.

Visas have nothing to do with it but extension of stays is the key plus employment for the past 3 years on a WP and taxes paid.

What the Thai government wants is senior management executives in local or MNC's to take PR status in Thailand.

If the Thai government would accept PR status for foreigners that are on multiply entry visa (one year either B or O) they would be flooded with applications.

where would you find a detailed business plan template in Thai  to fill out ?  or in English if there is none in Thai !

Are there any YouTube channels in Thai that tell how to open and run a small business ?

I think that most of these Thais would love to understand the right way to do it ,

there is just not a place for them to learn without getting "help" from the competition.

Where do they find real info about starting a small business ?

    '

Anyone that wants to run a business should be able to use Excel. Their are many templates available for free downloads.

If either a Thai or farang is unable to write a business plan it very much means they should not get into business.

  7. What Thai Muslim do is that they marry official and the other 3 by nikka in a local mosque. Southern Thailand Mosques gives you a letter and it is not logged with any government as the Thai government make Buddhism the official language of Thailand. Its all very much tolerated. Most of the Thai Muslim's that marry up to 4 wife's are loaded with money so no conflict. It works also most of time well out as they still look after their first wife etc and the children's and don't make a runner.
