  1. The congestion is NOT caused by farangs but by Thais who have little money. Increase the price and yes, the congestion will decrease, but more people will die through not being able to afford to go to hospital.
  2. I am taking 2 x Tocarlol 6.25 mg after breakfast and 2 x Tocarlol 6.25 mg plus 1 x Simvastin 20 mg or Eucor 25 mg plus 1 x Orfarin/Morfarin 5mg tablet in the evening as the doctor recommends. All supplied by the local state hospital.
  3. And then try to lay the blame for THEIR screw up onto PITA and the MFP.
  4. A lot depends on the ailments and the patient. The farthest I managed to walk lately is about 25 to 30 metres. The problem I have is that if I fall on the ground my Thai wife is not stronenough to pick me up, even to a sitting position.
  5. That would scare the crap out of me. usually though it is a case of flat battery. Recharge the batteries it it is OK. I was lucky as I went to the Naresuan hospital because of that and I am sure that they caught it early on. I had a blackout in February at home and when I woke from it I had no idea where I was other than a hospital, what day or time it was or how I got there. I think it was due to standing up quickly with low blood pressure. I am glad to know you recovered. Many people don't recover. That is about 350 km from me and where I had 2 stents put in back in 2006,
  6. AFAIK there is only Sheryl on ANN who is a qualified UK nurse and she is very helpful, but sadly for most of us I believe she lives in Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai.
  7. Which hospitals, and where in Thailand is this practiced?
  8. I go to my local hospital 13 km away every couple of months to top up my meds as the doctor asks me to. I also go for an appointment at the Naresuan teaching hospital in Phitsanulok 150 km away, where they have more doctors and their teachers and more equipment. They also have a larger catchment area and more experience. They diagnosed my breathing problems as a lower lung infection, which could be either pneumonia or long term Covid (the symptoms are similar). I looked up on Dr Google and downloaded some UK NHS breathing exercises which I think help as well. I do them 3 or 4 times a day for about 5 minutes a time.
  9. My BP this month has been Date Sys Dia Pulse 1 111 65 88 2 115 62 87 3 109 62 81 4 114 67 99 5 108 62 87 6 109 64 77 7 110 71 88 8 112 63 82 This is the middle value of 5 checks I take every day before breakfast. Much lower than yours. but within the acceptable limits of my Microlife BP tester.
  10. And are you a fully qualified medical doctor as I have no idea where you get your anti drug claims from? Given the choice, which I have, of visiting a qualified doctor or a faceless unqualified person on an internet forum, who does not back up his claims, who should I listen to? I will give you a clue. It won't be you.
  11. In my time visiting state hospitals, yes you need to register. I simply hand my hospital registration card, appointment card, and explain the reason for my visit. NO barcoded wristband is issued. If you are only going for under priced (not over priced) meds who would you prefer to see A doctor who pulls up you history on his computer, or a pharmacist who has no idea who you are or what your medical history is? After speaking to a doctor, he can change your meds if need be, a pharmacist cannot. There are no photocopies that I have to sign at all. My file goes from the registration to the desk which allocates the doctors and is then taken into the doctor when I go in, expanded if needed, then collected and returned to the registry when I am finished. I have no idea which state hospital you use but it certainly is not the one I use. If I wish I can visit ANY state hospital in any province and pay the same price.
  12. Building more hospitals would be the easy part. The hard part will be finding enough doctors and nurses to staff them. To staff a 100 bed hospital 24/7/365 plus all the various different departments, IMHO you would need around 15 to 20 doctors and perhaps 100 or more nurses. The departments would include reception and patients records, emergency room, X-Ray, pharmacy, cashier, physical therapy, dental, porters, etc. That is without any equipment or meds being supplied. This is simply a guess on my part and there may well be more nurses and practitioners required. It takes about 6 years to train a doctor. Nursing training varies between 1 and 6 years. https://www.nurse.cmu.ac.th/web/bachelor.aspx#:~:text=The Bachelor of Nursing Science, career as a registered nurse. 13. Because until the police raid the bar, it is only alleged by the complainant.
  14. It doesn't do much when your BP is low anyway.
  15. Diets cannot fix BP problems, neither can they fix lower lung infections, pneumonia or long term Covid.
  16. It is free at the local state hospital I use. If I am only going to top up my meds, my wife takes me after lunch (I don't drive any more) when most of the crowd has gone. I get put in a wheelchair, my hospital card is taken for registration and the reason for the visit, a nurse comes to me to take my BP, I tell her my weight and get parked near a fan and simply wait my turn. The doctors fee is 50 baht and the meds are NOT that expensive.
  17. Try telling that to the Immigration police and see how far that gets you.
  18. There are more and different links for those who are interested and not too lazy to do their own searches. That particular thread is some 30 years old. I used to rspect Chuan and the Democrats back then.
  19. Thank you kindly. I know that I am good but I certainly didn't praise from you.
  20. Instead of just asking, do your own search work as most of us do.
  21. Why don't you do a simple internet search for yourself? Or is it beyond your capabilities. Here is a starter from 30 years ago. https://www.upi.com/Archives/1993/06/22/Thai-prime-minister-under-attack-over-fugitive-brother/8392740721600/ BANGKOK, Thailand -- Opposition legislators Tuesday were barred from questioning Prime Minister Chuan Leekpai about his fugitive brother, who is wanted by police on charges ofembezzling $8 million from a Thai bank. House Speaker Marut Bunnag blocked an opposition motion that sought to determine why police have been unable to capture Chuan's younger brother, Raluek, four years after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Raluek Leekpai disappeared in 1989 after police issued a warrant for his arrest on charges he embezzled the equivalent of $8 million while working at the Thai Farmers Bank in the southern city of Songkhla. Some reports have said Raluek may have fled to the United States. Police Director-General Gen. Sawat Amornwiwat Tuesday denied rumors that Chuan has instructed police investigators not to talk to the media about Raluek's case. There is much more if you want to look for it.
  22. Who would even want to be a member of a losing party like the democrats, let alone the new captain of a sinking ship?
  23. Where will they find 175,000 new doctors and nurses from? Especially if they don't increase the starting salaries just to keep up.
  24. Or Putin does. Remember Putin needs Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin and the Wagner group far more than they need him. Prigozhin is now in Belarus and I don't think that the Belarus military can control him either, even with their Russian tactical nuclear weapons. Personally I don't believe anything that is published by any Russian 'news' source, but that maybe just me. The 'mighty' Russian army stood aside for him as did the civilians. Sure they turned around but who ordered the turning? It sure wasn't Putin. Prigozhin knows where many of the bodies are buried and perhaps even where Putin will be buried.
  25. Good for who? Certainly NOT for the Thai people.
