  1. I wish the OP the best of luck in selling them. I live in rural Kamphaeng Phet and I have about 500 or 600 paperback and hardback books that I don't read anymore. I now read Ebooks on my tablet and I have literally thousands of them. 1 or 100 take up the same amount of room. The problem with paper books is that mine overflow 2 bookcases, I have about 5 bags full on the floor plus 1 or 2 big storage boxes as well. To take them to DASA or any other bookstore and sell them would mean around a 7 or 800 km round trip plus at least 1 overnight stop for my wife (who would have to drive me) and myself. The cost of the diesel alone is high and, if I could find somebody to take them I would like to get rid of the whole lot, bookcases and all. I have not bothered to list authors names titles etc as it will be a long job and a PITA to boot.
  2. They probably could not find a bell tent big enough to turn into a dress for him.
  3. You take the children to the show once as a life experience. Before they go you explain to them what the show is about. If they don't want to go then don't force them to go. quote "So what do you call parents that take innocent children to watch garbage like that?" I would call them smart enlightened parents, that have no need for the nanny GOP to do their thinking for them.
  4. I agree with you up to a point. Firstly, the PPRP has to win enough seats to nominate a PM candidate. Secondly, the party that wins the most seats but not enough for an overall majority will need a coalition partner. Thirdly, between them they will nominate the PM candidate, BUT the larger partners choice should be the only one. Fourthly, we have to assume that the PTP will win the most seats, but not an overall majority and that they will take the PPRP on as a junior coalition partner, Fifthly, the EC and associated agencies will not find it so easy to frig the results this time and get away with it , nor will it be so easy to ban elected politicians and political parties this time around. Whilst Thaksin may have a lot of sway over the PTP it relies on the voters and not him. He hay agree in principle to have the PPRP as a coalition partner, and get him elected as PM, but then again this is Thai politics which is full of smiling faces and political back stabbings.
  5. Not really. Your response was unnecessary and pointless. I have been replying to Sleepy99 who is the OP and who seemed to be a bit lost in the beginning as to why the funds were not in his account. Most posters came up with reasonable and helpful answers, until you came along.
  6. Try looking back at my posts and you will see that I sent it to the correct account at the BBK bank but THEY returned it to Wise. Please try to read all of the posts before responding.
  7. 14:01 I just got my sms from Wise and the money is in BBK Bank.
  8. I hated the one at Suan Phlu. It was noisy, overcrowded, full of agents, wall to wall people and the parking was awful. You could park at the the Post Office next door IF you were lucky.
  9. No. I did nothing other than email Wise yesterday and explain my problem. They did the re-process themselves. I will wait and see if it turns up this afternoon.
  10. So where would you put the office in Bangkok or at Jomtien?
  11. Many smaller IO offices are now out of towns in newly built offices and are farang friendly. It seems that the Uthai Thani office has gone one step further and IMHO deserve a lot of praise for their hard work and dedication and not brickbats from some whining old farangs. Good for them and the IO as well. The Kamphaeng Phet office that I use has moved 4 times in 7 years, from out of town to intown, then behind the city government in temporary cramped buildings, to now a brand new purpose built built building about 5 km out of town
  12. I hope this information helps you. I have just logged into my Wise account and now I have the update saying that it should be paid out this afternoon as usual. Friday 10th You set up your transfer Friday 10th You used your GBP balance Today at 5:34 am We paid out your THB Your money's been sent out to bank It should reach their bank soon. But banks can be slow - it could take them 9 hours to process your transfer Today at 2:13 pm receive your THB
  13. It also depends on the reason that you transfer funds as has been mentioned many times on the Wise banking threads.
  14. Of course they do. I send the money as funds for long term stay in Thailand and that is sent as an FTT. IF you send the funds for a different reason the transfer will take a different time. As I normally send the transfer after Thai banking hours the transfer is made during UK banking hours and ends up in my Thai bank the following morning around 10 am and is released to my account just after 2 pm. That is unless I do a transfer on a Friday when it normally is paid on a Monday or the next banking day if the payout day is a bank holiday.
  15. This is the response from Wise that I received last night. I checked with BBK this morning about 06:15 but the transfer was not there yet. Feb 13, 2023, 14:24 UTC quote " Hello William, Thanks for getting in touch! I checked your transfer and see that we sent the money from our end, but the money was returned to us due to a technical issue with the recipient's bank. Our team is already working on it, once that's done we'll process the transfer and let you know via email. I hope that helps. Just let me know if you have any other questions — or you can check out our Help Centre."
  16. It got there around the normal time and I sent the transfer as normal. The problem is at the Thai end, and I don't know if it is a BBK bank problem, (they say no), a Wise problem or an internet banking problem.
  17. I get 3 pensions in the UK and each provider sends it to Wise. When it hits my Wise account I get an automatic email notification and I can choose when to transfer it. I set up the transfer and on a Friday it is in my BBK account just after 2pm on Monday, unless Monday is a bank or public holiday in Thailand, in which case it will be the next working day. I choose to do it this way as I do my marriage extension on income and BBK shows the transfer as FTT. Also sending it through Wise, I get a better forex rate than sending it direct to the bank.
  18. Of course it doesn't matter to Wise but I was replying to a poster here. Thank you for your advice but I have been using Wise and BBK since 2019 and I have made it work since then. I know that when I do the transfer on a Friday evening Thai time it should be in my BBK account just after 2pm on Monday if the Monday is not a Thai bank holiday
  19. Mine was the first of 3 this month and was funded by my UK State pension. AFAIK the transfer went through as normal on Friday evening Thai time and should have been in my BBK account around 2pm this afternoon.
  20. Not yet. I have just sent them an email and to expect a reply in about 24 hours.
  21. Like you I had plans for the rest of the week which will be delayed. To be fair it is only the second time in 4 years for me. I suspect that it is a glitch in the internet banking link. The money is already in Thailand anyway but it seems to be the authorisation which is delayed.
