Please try to learn how to spell. Thaksin Shinawatra is spelled Thaksin. OTOH Taksin normally here in Thailand refers to King Taksin the Great. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taksin King Taksin the Great (Thai: สมเด็จพระเจ้าตากสินมหาราช, RTGS: Somdet Phra Chao Taksin Maharat,[c] listen (help·info)) or the King of Thonburi (Thai: สมเด็จพระเจ้ากรุงธนบุรี, RTGS: Somdet Phra Chao Krung Thon Buri;[d] simplified Chinese: 郑昭; traditional Chinese: 鄭昭; pinyin: Zhèng Zhāo; Teochew: Dên Chao;[6] April 17, 1734 – April 7, 1782) was the only king of the Thonburi Kingdom. He had been an aristocrat in the Ayutthaya Kingdom and then was a major leader during the liberation of Siam from Burmese occupation after the Second Fall of Ayutthaya in 1767, and the subsequent unification of Siam after it fell under various warlords. He established the city of Thonburi as the new capital, as the city of Ayutthaya had been almost completely destroyed by the invaders. His reign was characterized by numerous wars; he fought to repel new Burmese invasions and to subjugate the northern Thai kingdom of Lanna, the Laotian principalities, and a threatening Cambodia.

What a load of cobblers you write, I agree 100% with ozimoron. Of the 30 or so farang friends I have here, none of them have problems fitting in back home, and NONE of them are criminals or antisocials. Most of us are married and have Thai wives and families and we all have homes and land here, in our wives names and some have businesses as well. None of us are in denial or trying to justify our life choices. WE knew what the choices would be and made our plans accordingly.

Thaksin says daughter will announce his return to Thailand this year

Good plan, though IMHO Prawit will not be in the next government. -
I think that you have that the wrong way around. If the video (which has NOT been shown) shows that the RTP are completely innocent, then it is in their favour to show the video. However as it has not been shown, and the RTP there is probably a good reason why not, and the RTP are in a headless chicken cover up mode. As for your quote "Show us the footage to prove the innocence of the police? What a joke that is." the RTP has everything to gain and nothing to lose if they are clean.

Thaksin says daughter will announce his return to Thailand this year

That would depend on who runs the courts and the justice system. Thaksin was charged by the military who ran the coup against him, and so was Yingluck. Both coups were illegal which means that any charges against them both were effectively illegal also. To get a clean and effective neutral court and justice system will take several years. Have you noticed how many coup leaders and their cronies have been charged under the same system? -

So if Thaksin and Yingluck are granted immunity from prosecution, it will create a precedent? How does that create a precedent, when every military coup leader grants himself and his cronies immunity after every coup, and there have been 18 since 1932? -
Bill Heinecke: "Crazy to give vaccines to tourists"
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I think that you need to get off your bar stool and face reality. quote from your post "Fake vaccine? Expired vaccine? Wrongly stored vaccine? How about complications after vaccine? What are the Thai documents worth, if get, to prove vaccination? How will it be received when Thai population is not fully vaccinated but the dirty farangs get it for free..." Do you have anything to back up your words? Any tourist requiring a Covid vaccination in Thailand will pay a charge, and BTW the Chinese are farangs too. Of course I trust my life and health to Thais and I have done on and off since 1993 and I have lived in Thailand full time for about 18 or more years now. If I need to see a doctor I go to the local state hospital where all the doctors and a lot of the nurses and staff speak English. I pay a bit more than Thais do but certainly not much more, plus I have the advantage of knowing that I will see the doctor the same day. I have had 2 Pfizer jabs last year and my Pfizer booster jab last week. Because I am an expat and registered with the local hospital, all 3 jabs were free, as are all jabs for Thais who are also registered with the government hospitals. Also most farangs are NOT "dirty". The MoPH Anutin used that phrase a while ago and he has little or no idea what he is talking about. -

Paetongtarn Leads Pheu Thai Party’s Election Campaign in Northeast

Good. I am glad that she is reaching out to the Thai people in a way similar to that of her father, Thaksin Shinawatra did, and that the current "leadership" cannot. I wish Paetongtarn Shinawatra and the PTP every success, and I hope that they win an overall majority. -
Thaksin’s Homecoming, Arrest-Free Desire Questioned
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I am not so sure about a yellow rebellion as that was mostly in Bangkok and many yellow shirts are older and have died off. They will also need the army to help them out and that may not be so easy this time, as so many Thai people have suffered under the current "leadership". I also believe that he who cannot be named, will have less effect than his father before him. -
I used to drink Earl Grey breakfast tea until the price went up to 150 baht for 25 tea bags in BigC. I have just looked at the price on Lazada and it ranges between 217 thb for 25 bags to over 800 thb for 25 bags.

In a way I agree with Jatuporn. However I do believe that he should be given a retrial with a neutral and completely unbiased judge and justice department. At he same time ALL of the surviving generals of ALL the military coups (and their cohorts) should go on trial, charged with treason and overthrowing legally elected governments. That would be a way towards the democracy that is so desperately needed in Thailand.

Quote "If they did it would make the judiciary look highly corrupt / full of collusion / lacking in credibility." It is an accepted fact that they are all of that already, and have been for decades.
