Biden suggests voting for Republicans is a threat to democracy
billd766 replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
So much for uniting America. Joe looks so desperate now. I would like to remind you that President Biden and the Democrats actually WON the 2020 Presidential election with a comfortable majority. Unlike EX president Trump, they are NOT wailing and whining about how the election was stolen from him. Just one of the hundreds of baseless lies that EX president Trump spews on a daily basis. They are trying to unsnarl all of EX president Trump's screwups and run the country as it should be run. I am not sorry if this self evident truth upsets you, EX president Trump's supporters on this forum and even upsets the MAGA supporters as well. -
But 'asylum seekers' can apply in their own country. Crossing the Channel in a boat makes them illegal immigrants no matter what words you wrap them up in.

The main difference from then until now is that while dinosaurs, cockroaches, beetles etc moved freely around, they did NOT demand shelter, food etc from their new hosts. An example from the BBC news site today. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-63489276 Last week, MPs were told 12,000 Albanians had arrived in the UK after crossing the English Channel so far this year, compared to 50 in 2020. Of these, 10,000 were men - representing 1% of Albania's adult male population. Albanians now represent the biggest group of those crossing the Channel in small boats. Asked about Mr Rama's comments, Immigration Minister Robert Jenrick said he wanted a "productive relationship" with the Albanian PM. "But it's also true that Albania is a demonstrably safe country, and the vast majority of people coming from Albania are young males," he told ITV. "It is a good example of economic migrants, of the kind that we as a country should be trying our best to deter," he added. Why didn't they stay in Albania and help to rebuild it for a better place? I have read, but cannot find the link again, that the illegal immigrants are costing the UK GBP 7 million PER DAY. https://homeofficemedia.blog.gov.uk/2022/04/14/factsheet-cost-of-asylum-system/ Home Office statistics released in February 2022 showed that 28,526 migrants crossed the Channel in 2021- up from 299 in 2018. Almost all claim asylum. The United Kingdom has legal obligations under ECHR and the 1999 Immigration and Asylum Act to provide asylum seekers who would otherwise be destitute, with accommodation and other support whilst their claim for asylum is being considered. The current asylum system is costing the taxpayer £1.5 billion a year, the highest amount in over two decades. The sharp increase in crossings and the pandemic has led to approximately 37,000 destitute migrants and those on resettlement schemes being accommodated in hotels, costing the taxpayer £4.7 million every day.

Why should they show you their body cam videos? They are evidence to be shown at a trial long before you get to see them. -

Memories of the good old days. Been there and done that many many times. -
It has already been presented and assessed, and a verdict reached by the social? media and they have determined that Paul Pelosi is guilty of beating himself over the head with a hammer, and that David DePape was just an innocent bystander let into the house by the third person. Further it is a cover up, expressly ordered by President Biden, aka the Great Satan and election stealer in chief, himself. ???? ????

Date(s) for monthly payment of UK State Pension?
billd766 replied to zombie nights's topic in UK & Europe Topics and Events
My next payment is on Friday 21 October and every 4th Friday after unless the Friday is a bank holiday in the UK. The only people who can tell what day you will be paid by the DWP, are the DWP themselves as it all depends on you NI number. How long it will take depends on the bank routing. AFAIR the DWP transfer it to one bank in the UK (Citibank but if I am wrong somebody will correct me), who then transfer it through their network until it reaches BBK Bank. You won't know what forex rate you will get or how much will be deducted as 'fees' on the way. I get my pensions sent to Wise bank in the UK and do a manual transfer from there. It takes about 3 or 4 minutes per transfer and I know how much I transferred, what forex rate I get (guaranteed for that transaction), how much I will receive in thb and when it will be in BBK bank to within 15 minutes. Also the forex rate that Wise pays is about 50 or more satang per GBP than being sent direct by the DWP. -
I am 78 and I have lived and worked in 38 countries across the world from South America to Europe, to the Arab Gulf, Pakistan, Bangladesh, PNG, Asia and NZ. I have never been a victim of a home invasion, nor has anybody I know. That includes one military coup in Venezuela and 3 here in Thailand. You must be very unlucky or somewhat of a high profile person.

Do you have a link for that?

You are correct, however, https://visitukraine.today/blog/102/exceptions-when-a-man-can-leave-ukraine-under-martial-law According to the requirements of the legislation, restrictions on crossing the border to leave Ukraine do not apply to individuals in this category, in particular: - who have a certificate of deferment of conscription and notification of enrollment in special military registration (in accordance with the decision of the Government to approve the list of positions and professions of conscripts subject to reservation for the period of mobilization and wartime); - who have an opinion of the military medical commission on unfitness with exclusion from military registration; - who raise three or more children under the age of 18; - who raise a child (children) under the age of 18 on their own; - dependent on a child with a disability under the age of 18 or an adult child who is a person with a disability of the I or II group, until he/she reaches 23 years of age; - adoptive parents, guardians, trustees, foster parents, who are dependent on orphans or children deprived of parental care under the age of 18; There is more in the link. https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2022/09/25/7368981/ Men of mobilisation age will be banned from leaving Russia after sham referendums in Ukraine, Russian mass media have reported, referring to sources in the government. Source: Meduza [Russian news outlet], citing sources close to the administration of the President of the Russian Federation Details: According to the first source, the most likely date of the ban to be introduced is 28 September. Another source, which is also close to the Administration of the President, says that this will happen after the sham referendums are held in the self-proclaimed DPR, LPR [Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, respectively] and in the occupied territories of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. There is always more than one truth as you can see every day if you just compare Fox news with MSN. As for asking here, who was the third person, do you really think that the posters here know more than the people at the scene? If you really NEED to know, then why don't you speak to the police in the USA and ask them? I am sure that they will give you all the information that you need.

Russia says it will suspend UN-brokered Ukraine grain export deal
billd766 replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
What a surprise. Russia stopping grain ships from the Ukraine from sailing yet offering Russian grain free to interested countries. This news hot off the Pravda press in Ukraine. I wonder whose grain the Russian people will eat? ???? ???? -
So harmless as well. Carrying a hammer with which he smashed his way into the Pelosi house, and attacked an 82 year old man. There is nothing to milk. He was caught on the premises attacking Paul Pelosi. Do ALL homeless nutjob mentally ill guys from Canada do that? A very weak attempt attempt at diversion. 0 out of 10.

Surprises rock the Senate races that will decide America’s future
billd766 replied to Scott's topic in World News
The only poll or voice that matters is the results on polling day. You can find 'pundits' on either side who say that their side will win but it doesn't matter as it is the voters who will decide. -
Wow!!! A whole crumb given to the Thai people.
