Whilst people can fly they may also believe that the insurance that they have/ that comes with the flight ticket/ that they pay extra for, may have exclusions in the tiny print tucked away out of normal view. If you are going to ride a motorbike/bungee jump/ride a bicycle/ or anything out of the ordinary, it is a good idea to get extra insurance cover specifically to cover that activity. If you don't need to claim, you only lose the premium you paid. If you do need to claim, having proper insurance cover would be a weight off your mind. OTOH if you do have an accident and you are not insured, you may be in for a double dose of pain, as this guy is now. If he was insured, but not wearing proper protective gear, the insurance company may use that as an excuse not to pay out.

What a wonderful idea to build a nuclear "bunker" that large. The problems that I can see with that plan are basic and simple. How much food would you need to store for up to 30 families and for how many years would you need to store it, 1, 2, 3, 4 or even 5 years? Where and how would you dispose of the trash generated? Where and how much water would you need to store, and where would you dispose of it? How would you supply the electricity to power it? How many weapons and how much ammunition would you need to defend the bunker and yourselves in the aftermath? How would you know when it is safe to leave the bunker? When you finally come out, where would you find food, water, clothes, even other people etc? Assuming that you do come out, and there are things to buy, (unlikely I know), how could you pay for it?

What a shame that you forgot to mention that the Soviet Union was a German ally right up until 1942, when Hitler stabbed them in the back and declared war on the Soviet Union. quote "Reckon the Soviet Union did a lot of UK ass saving too". Can you explain how you came to that conclusion? Especially in the light of the UK and the US supplying the Russians with weapons, vehicles, uniforms, medical supplies, food, oil etc through the Artic convoys and the Arab Gulf routes. Or how Allied seamen whose ships were sunk were interned by Russia, or how Allied aircrew were also interned by Russia when their aircraft were shot down or crashed while attacking German targets?

I agree 100%. I live with 2 Thais. My wife and my son. When I go shopping to the local village or market, I am usually the only farang around. It is when I go to the city, 65km away, I may see another farang.

But you are not forced to drink it in one night. A long time ago when I used to drink, many guys had their own bottle left behind the bar, marked at the end of the night, and it was still at that level the next time they drank there. It all depends on the bar owner and the bar staff. If you complained that your drink was less than it should be, or it was watered, the bar would either replace the bottle with the same amount. Alternatively you would move to another bar.

I did a transfer from my Wise borderless account yesterday using the long term stay in Thailand as the reason. An email sent by Wise told me that my money was on the move and that it would be in my Bangkok bank account at 2:13 pm today. Their timing was off by 12 minutes, as BKK bank sent me an SMS at 2:01 pm telling me me that the money was there, just the same as every other transfer I have made this year, arrives in my account around 2:01 pm plus up to 3 or 4 minutes. The exceptions are if the bank is closed for a bank or public holiday, when it will arrive on the next bank working day.

If I take anybodies advice on AN about stuff like this, It would be from you only. There are so many "experts" here giving advice on a multitude of subjects that I cannot be believe that the majority have the slightest idea what they are talking about. When I get the time I will contact the various banks personally and get the information from the horses mouth as it were, rather than accept and rely on other peoples advice who have actually never stuff like this. But that will take time. My wife will probably need money quickly for my cremation etc. Doing it the way that Mike lister suggests will cut that time down, especially as all the household bills are done through the joint account. They will take time to transfer.

Thank you for that very useful information. We have a joint account at KBank. My wife and our son have separate single accounts at the same bank branch. I have a single account at BKK bank for my visa income and I also have another at Wise UK where my pensions come into and are transferred to my BKK in Thailand. I will ask the BKK branch what they will need on Friday and I will also talk to Wise to see what they need when I die. My (frozen) state pension dies with me but my wife will get 50% of my other 2 pensions that will be sent to Wise. They will also die when she does. I am 80 and I am trying to tidy up my financial affairs whilst I am still around and also while my brain, memory and body are still working.

Can you please tell me if that would work out with an either/or joint bank account?
