Not every Immigration office is the same. The one I use at Kamphaeng Phet is farang friendly and very helpful. They were interesting links and from the first link I am either in the late adopter or the laggard group. I am 80 and though I still drive a bit TBH I feel that I am to old and stuck in my ways. If I were to enter the market for an EV it would probably be an electric trike or a 4 wheel version of one. I live in rural Kamphaeng Phet and the nearest public charging station is some 60 km away and the local PEA has a habit of browning out or sometimes losing 1 phase once or twice a week, sometimes for 10 seconds or so and other times for 2 hours or more. And this is before there are any EVs locally, so what it would be like if there were only 10% EVs charging at the same time I have no idea. EVs at the moment are OK if you are a commuter and if you have a dedicated home charging system but for longer distance driving they don't seem too practical once you get off the main highways due to a lack of charging stations, certainly in rural Thailand. Then there is research going on with other fuels such as hydrogen etc which may be cheaper and more plentiful once they can get their act together, though there may be storage and delivery problems with that in the future.

I will try again. Thank you once again for your response. TO me that is a far simpler explanation and far easier to read and understand, than based on vague percentages of this and that. Considering how long EVs have been for sale on the markets, a 3.5% market share is not to bad, but certainly not that impressive, given the massive hype shown by some EV evangelists. In addition EVs have been heavily subsidised, so that is not a very fair or level market. What would be interesting is seeing ICE and EV sales with no subsidy competing on a level market. Also the resale values of comparable ICE and EV after say 5, 7 years and 10 years.

Keep trying. Trends and percentages are also meaningless compared to actual numbers. So why not give actual numbers of ICE and EV vehicles actually sold rather than percentages of vague figures?

That is actually good going considering the state of the Thai economy and a much more realistic figure than 40% of ........

So actually how many ICE vehicles were sold each month in the first 5 months compared to EV vehicles in actual numbers, rather than your usual percentages? That would be a much fairer comparison.

IMHO Facebook is a big part of the problem. I have only 21 friends on Facebook and I know them. OTOH Facebook does not appear to think that is enough and is telling me that another 200 or 300 people want to be my friend. I used to delete them from wanting to ne my friend, but Facebook filled the space for those who want to be my friend quicker than I could delete them. I have no idea who they are or why they want to be my friend. Nowadays I simply ignore the requests, but Facebook keeps filling the slots up again.

Wrong again. Perhaps most of the people you know scan to pay on their mobile some of the time, but not everybody does. Older people are not resistant to change, but we generally change when it is necessary, not when it is fashionable or when some fashionista thinks it is a good idea. One of the things I was taught as a young engineer was a simple rule which holds true today. If it works, then don't screw about with it.
