  1. I will be disappointed if he doesn't do something stupid during his term. However that is preferable to starting a war somewhere. I'm predicting that his policy in the M E is going to blow up in his face. For some reason US politician's brains cease functioning properly when considering the M E. IMO.
  2. Sometimes a conspiracy theory is actually fact. I have the opinion that it was a test to see how much control the sheeple would tolerate before they rebelled. Overlords 1 sheeple 0. I'm not a scientist so I can not prove that the vaccine ( apart from not being very effective ) isn't what it is claimed to be, but it's a fact that I didn't catch covid till AFTER I had the vaccine ( basically forced to do so ). Even the flu jab requires only one dose per year, unlike the covid one which requires a booster every 5 minutes and then doesn't actually stop one getting sick. I guess I'm lucky that the flu jab does work.
  3. Thank you for your kind words. I assure you that not all share your opinion. I'm sure a few would prefer that I vanish without trace. Regardless, my life would be a lot more organised if I spent less time on here.
  4. That's not why Trump won, That is standard for elections. The reason Trump won, that you apparently ignore, is that the Dems inserted, without any public approval, a gibbering idiot into the campaign.
  5. Luckily I live in a country with a Good Samaritan law, so can't be prosecuted for any of those complications but I probably would be if I refused to try, given my career. Up to now there has been no requirements for me to put my training into practice outside a hospital. The only road accident I came across where I might have had to do something involving resus didn't ,as the casualty, a m'bike rider, was literally headless.
  6. Ditto re training, but being selective was not an option for myself. However these days I can do it for 5 minutes and give up due to old age. It's actually hard work if having to do it for a while.
  7. Surely you know how to do it, or is it only for your benefit? It should be taught at school for everyone, but of course isn't.
  8. Not the same as using a training dummy, but for most it doesn't matter how it's done as long as the head is positioned to open the airway and lungs are compressed and released at a rapid rate. For those that learned long ago, it's no longer required to do a finger sweep in the mouth or to do breaths. The compressions move air in and out. It's also done faster. Obviously it's better to do it properly, but even doing it properly can result in broken ribs. Something to bear in mind is that even a successful resus requires hospital follow up, and hopefully oxygen asap, so hope the ambulance has some on board. Something that can be learned off a VDO is how to put the patient in recovery position- essential post resus while waiting for an ambulance.
  9. Big talk like that is likely to result in Americans getting a bullet to the head. Politicians need to remember that not everyone regards every word they speak as a lie. Some might even believe him and act accordingly.
  10. Mr Waltz needs to put his big boy pants on and lead from the front. We've had enough of the big talk from those that will never go in harm's way. There was a wise president sometime ago that said "walk quietly and carry a big stick" Waltz would do well to take note of the "quietly" part.
  11. Expect more. Tents made out of plastic don't protect against cold. https://www.unrwa.org/resources/reports/unrwa-situation-report-149-situation-gaza-strip-and-west-bank-including-east-jerusalem The heavy rains are estimated to affect over 1.6 million people living in makeshift shelters across the Gaza Strip, with thousands of displaced families living in tents along the coast in southwest Gaza being particularly affected by flooding and rising seawater. According to preliminary assessments, about 7,000 families residing along the shoreline were affected by recent rains, with thousands of tents flooded, belongings destroyed and shelters damaged.
  12. That is an indisputable fact. It's the reason I'm against the death penalty. I've nothing against ridding the state of the cost of looking after the really bad criminals, but too many innocents have been put to death to want it to exist.
  13. Having a bad day? It's just going to get worse come January. Perhaps you should get off the internet so you don't get triggered all the time.
  14. That's what happens when using western supplied missiles in Russia. Would they have been less destructive had they been sent on a different day? Ukraine's air force said it had detected 184 missiles and drones, but many were shot down or missed their targets. Huh? I distinctly remember posts on this very subforum claiming that Russia had run out of missiles. I guess someone got it wrong, Ukraine perhaps?
  15. We saw it the first time you posted it.
  16. There is a reason for that, if you bothered to find out, and it's nothing to do your implication.
  17. Ain't that the truth. I miss the God thread. I learned so much, but like everything the end comes eventually and after Sunmaster and the Italian guy ( I'm getting so forgetful as I near the end )- you know who I mean, left I saw no point in regurgitating the same thing over and over, so i left too. Agree on that. Statesmen are nowhere to be found anymore. It's all about power and wealth- how they can get as much of that as possible without being overthrown in a rebellion or going to jail. Not in a bad way I hope. I am still here, too much so in fact, but it helps to pass the time before time is called for myself.
  18. Interesting post with much to think about. The takeaway I get is that so called public health services are going down the rabbit hole of high tech, when almost all of the patients I looked after in decades of nursing in public hospitals were low tech. When the bureaucrats spend most of the money on high tech that is applicable to few of the patients, it means that low tech patients have to wait. Just one heart replacement costs more than many, many simple operations such as cataracts. Seems to me the aim is to benefit the few over the many. Given the human characteristic of looking to build empires I expect more public money to be diverted into high tech with higher media profile in future, leaving patients with simple, but less "sexy" ailments to suffer longer. My solution- public money should be spent for the maximum benefit for as many patients as possible. Leave the high tech for those that can afford it in a private system. When I worked for the NHS, which was some years ago so may have changed, laser corneal shaping was done only for private ( paying ) patients. The NHS did the dog work of cataracts, simple procedures that changed countless lives for the better, but were not media worthy.
  19. Good description of governments as they have become in 2024. Welcome back. I missed your contributions during the election season. The God thread died not long after you departed.
  20. I hope you are not implying that Bolton is a "good guy". He got the boot for a reason. While you are complaining that Trump is an idiot ( which makes him an ideal politician- idiots welcome in that club ) you might ask yourself how an idiot thrashed the one selected by the elites of the Democrat party in the election, winning not only the EC but the popular vote and all the swing states.
  21. You do occasionally write something I can agree with. You missed Slaughter of M E peoples.
  22. I assume you meant "invasion". Stop making it up. Taking back the canal forcibly is not the same as invading the whole country. I'm not in favour of that, given it's illegal, but IMO the US should never have given it away in the first place.
  23. A lot, unfortunately when woke people get hold of other people's money. You do know that PEOPLE spend money, and it doesn't spend itself, aren't you? Depends if it's for something they actually need help for something that they can't fix themselves. IMO poor countries are not poor in fact. There is usually plenty of money but it's stolen by corrupt governments. Let them pay before western money is sent. The other reason they are poor is that they are overpopulated, and their governments do nothing about that, preferring to let them try to get illegally to other countries, while selling their fishing grounds to rich western nations and such like. Nigeria makes loadsacash from oil, but the poor get only pollution and no money.
  24. Seems everything is based on "left wing or right wing" these sad days and the idea that organisations should just help people in trouble, without trying to make them take an unproven vaccine is an idea consigned to the bin long ago. Now it's all about politics. IMO.
