Just going by working in an English hospital- Nurses from many nations worked in London hospitals, and often no English nurses on a shift. Whenever I started a shift, if the charge nurse was English i knew it was likely to be a bad shift. The Aussie nurses were far away the best nurses ( I'm not an Aussie and no reason to praise them ).

Those snack foods loaded with sugar ARE western in origin. I lived in a village that was as far from the nearest city as can be found in LOS and the convenience store had every known variety of western junk food as known to humanity. Processed western food is chocka with chemicals and is probably why the cancer rate is so high. I avoided a lot by eating in hospital cafeterias and before that in military messes where the food would have been bought in bulk and fresh. Still got cancer though. I drank loads of sodas in LOS, but because I worked so hard outside I didn't have a diabetes problem and I didn't like Thai cake or chocolate so didn't eat too much sugar. That happened once back in NZ and ate heaps of cake and chocolate. After I became prediabetic, I gave up sugar, lost 10kg, and have not progressed to diabetes.

LOL. I doubt Trump thought about it long enough to consider it as a distraction. More likely he just opened his mouth and a lot of cobblers fell out. I've nothing against solar though it should either be done to allow farming to continue or be put on houses and non farm land. Try covering all the London parks with solar and see what happens. In NZ the green insanity was covering too many farms in trees, and I believe the government recently acted to stop it.

That was in the 60s. Since then woke has won and US schools IMO produce mediocre results. No kids want to be a mathematician now, aspiring to be in "media". Why would a kid want to be brainy when that isn't "cool" and a guy that kicks a ball earns millions. Besides, things like hard work and achievement are foreign concepts to a generation that actually believes the sky is falling and that a boy can be a girl, if he get's his cut off. Nothing unique to the US though. most western countries do not value intelligence- when their parliaments are full of idiots why work hard at school? Just get a job in the government and be set for life. China is succeeding by rewarding excellence in education. Even Chinese in western countries outstrip locals as they did the hard work of study while local kids were looking at porn in their room or out ram raiding stores.

Real world- no hostage will be released ( except perhaps any actually dying ) without a permanent ceasefire agreement ( at a minimum ) as they know that is all that is keeping the israelis from going full terminator on them. Being told that they were all going to be killed anyway wasn't a good idea. IMO If the israelis even look like rescuing them without a ceasefire, likely they will be killed. Everyone knows what has to be done to get them released, but netanyahu won't do it- it's like he doesn't care if they die- surely not, he's such a good man he wouldn't be like that, would he?
