  1. None of which avoids the reality that Ukraine is losing in the east and in Kursk. Seems it wasn't a good idea to send the best troops for defeat in a stupid adventure in Kursk.
  2. Except the Euros don't have the money to do what they say. That's a result of wasting billions on illegal immigrants and a stupid proxy war. IMO.
  3. Good to see a sensible post that is not the usual Trump bad BS,
  4. If I assume that everything you say is true, doesn't it mean that farangs need to avoid trouble in LOS. Had they rented and had a problem with scum neighbours, then they could just move, but oh no, they had to go all too posh to rent and buy an expensive house, which IMO was their first mistake. Then they made more mistakes. Farangs should learn more about the culture they want to live in before making expensive mistakes.
  5. Being polite to the Thais and not causing a problem is always a good idea in Thailand. Where it all went wrong for the Brit couple was buying a house- I wonder how much they know about Thailand? Had they just rented, none of the subsequent trouble would have happened. Anyway, why would people of their age want to buy property? Were they intending to leave it to their children?
  6. Crashes are the result of poor government policies, and unfortunately the people that cause them never suffer from the results of those poor policies. 2008 was the result of US government allowing insane mortgage policies. However, I'm sure the 1% made money out of it.
  7. Gorbachev was a fantasist that imagined he could do away with the "old" Russia, and was proven wrong. The only sane thing he did was pulling out of Afghanistan, which was never going to be defeated, by Russia, the Soviet Union or the Europeans/ US.
  8. Inform us as to the last US president that gave the world peace and prosperity. I won't hold my breath waiting.
  9. Never been a proxy war on this scale in history, so historical actions are irrelevant.
  10. It's entirely relevant to point out that Europe is being led by the biggest shower of numpties in Euro history. All they are good for is letting the aliens in and giving them and a stupid proxy war all the money. Sooner they are unemployed the better. As always, IMO.
  11. Errr, Ukraine is losing. It was losing before Trump was POTUS. Trump is just saving lives by ending it sooner. Apparently you don't care how many Ukrainians die in your war.
  12. If Trump didn't do that the stupid Euros would keep it going. They are all warmongering idiots, IMO. When Ukraine war is over it will make zero difference to Western democracy. We'll just go back to ignoring it like we did before.
  13. Yes, it would be like Canada without the -40 celcius temperatures.
  14. No disagreement from me on that, and I actually lived there. The past is the best part of it. The present is bad architecture and chewing gum on the pavements. Soho is a <deleted><deleted>. They can't even get the NHS right.
  15. Hua Hin has nightlife? Well goodness me, I'd never have believed that if you hadn't said. Sad town with dangerous roads and an ugly hotel destroying the view. Most exciting thing was avoiding the horse poop on the beach.
  16. As long as you accept it's been by all presidents since WW2 and not just Trump.
  17. If that is the sort of post I'm going to keep getting from you It's time to say goodbye and you can talk to yourself.
  18. Must have changed since I was there then. I was staying just south of White Sand and it was very quiet.
  19. Rubbish. I walked all over much of Chang. That is the best way to explore anything, not concentrating on driving. I did that in Bkk too.
  20. If you got shipwrecked and had to live like Tom Hanks in Castaway would you still be happy? If not then you are only content, IMO.
  21. I'd be "happy" ( LOL ) to be content and comfortable. Unfortunately this old body keeps making me uncomfortable. I only once came near to being truly happy in my life, and that was in Antarctica. Unfortunately, I had to live in a small base with <deleted> that kept stuffing it up. It's hard to be happy when the manager is a richard cranium.
  22. Exactly. Happiness comes from within and is not dependent on possessions or other people. A monk can be happy with nothing. Conversely one can have everything and not be happy. I've never met anyone in my entire life that is truly happy. Lots are contented, but that's not the same thing.
  23. That has to be the worst idea I saw, unless he's used to driving in LOS. By all means hire a vehicle with a driver. IMO don't go to Chang- Phangan is way better, especially up north east.
