  1. Indeed they are, and I apply them to anything that comes out of social media- actually that's not true, as I disregard anything that comes out of social media.
  2. Oh my my my, you obviously hadn't read the very next thread on the Ukraine sub forum titled "Divided US Threatens Ukraine's Fragile Gains, NATO Chief Warns". Sort of threatens your perspective, doesn't it?
  3. You assume much. You may have missed it but there is an election in the US later this year and that might change things somewhat. Otherwise the GOP might decide it's a waste of money better spent on US infrastructure, or the Russians might have better ground to air missiles capable of destroying the F16s and drones. All those vaunted Leopard tanks that were going to "win the war" didn't amount to much, did they? It's always a mistake to think that nothing changes in a war.
  4. Is it always a fact that when anyone attempts to inject a bit of sense into a conversation about Russia we are always met with the same BS about being a communist sympathiser? I guess they don't have anything to say other than insults.
  5. You may be right about that, but he and his cronies were not the people I was talking about. IMO senior military types like war, as it makes them feel important, and they are never the ones going home in a bag. I was in the military, so I do know something about the officer class, and I wasn't impressed back then and that hasn't changed.
  6. I had a quick look through the thread and it seems that it's universally a very bad idea that the OP has. Will he take the advice offered, or just do it anyway? If he does that he'll be joining a very long list of guys that ended up older and wiser, but poorer.
  7. You beat me to it. Seems like another newbie to LOS wearing the saffron glasses and no idea of reality in LOS. He's better off keeping the money and using it to finance a pleasant life in LOS.
  8. It's always puzzled me that post 1967 the convention when talking about israeli borders has always referred to the 1967 border, and not the legal border as set by the UN in 1948. Gosh, it's almost as though it's alright for one state to seize land from another state and make it part of their state, in defiance of international law. Even more puzzling then, that when another country that we know well does that, the entire western world makes a huge fuss about it. Gosh, it's almost as though it's OK for israel to not abide by international law, because it's "special". Strange world we live in.
  9. Oh, the sabre rattling is getting louder by the day. I'm absolutely sure that in their minds Russia is getting ready to commit mass suicide by launching an attack on Europe. I'm also absolutely sure that they are demented.
  10. Corruption in Ukraine! OMG, we never ever thought those wonderful Ukrainians were capable of such a thing. Shock, horror, more shock. and America thinks those corrupt people are worth supporting .
  11. I didn't think I'd ever see such an evil person in my lifetime. I was wrong.
  12. That's because israelis are special, and can't be judged in the same way as Russia for the same crimes, because they claim ALL Palestinians are Hamas fighters, even the 10 year old children and babies they kill with their bombing.
  13. IMO a vile disgusting reaction to unproven allegations by the israelis that 11 or 12 employees of UNRWA were involved on October 7. UNRWA apparently employs 30,000 people but the israeli sycophants seized on these unproven allegations to cut funding to people being murdered in their thousands. Shame on them all, and I hope they are prosecuted for collusion in genocide.
  14. Stupid comment with no bearing on reality. There is food but the israelis won't let enough into Gaza.
  15. I know you were being sarcastic, but I happen to agree with that. Perhaps you can point out something she has succeeded at while VP. I know of nothing.
  16. That's about the saddest comment I've ever heard about the mentality of people today. We stand at the peak of 50,000 years of human development and 18% will get their direction from a singer. Perhaps the planet would be better off had we all been a sabre tooth tiger's dinner.
  17. Anything to reply to the question, or do you prefer insulting other posters?
  18. For sure it's a gift for Trump. He'd be losing it if he didn't. He'll likely claim that the Gaza conflict wouldn't have happened under his watch, and therefore none of the subsequent chaos would have eventuated.
  19. LOL. It's to scare the sheeple so they turn to their "leaders" for protection. Also, the people that pay for all the warmonger's toys have to be reminded from time to time why they have to have a military at all. If the UN actually worked, and we didn't have any wars, that'd be a whole lot of unemployable officers, and the 1% wouldn't be minting it from selling things to kill people.
  20. Quibble as much as you want, but I do not recall any wars starting while Trump was president. I'd probably need both hands to count how many have started under Biden's ( the leader of the free world ) watch. All the boys that didn't have to die while Trump was POTUS should remember that.
  21. Neither side is going to do anything unconditionally. It will take negotiations and apparently netanyahu is reluctant to negotiate. Hamas will probably not release any hostages without a guarantee that israel will also abide by the rulings, given there have been a number of statements to the effect that israel will ignore the rulings.
  22. If they think they can, they have forgotten how many Palestinians live outside israel, safe from israeli bombs, and right now they are probably working out how they can take revenge against israel. Hezbollah will probably have thousands of new recruits to carry on the fight. Israel is probably going to be under attack for decades to come, and israelis all over the world will be under threat.
  23. As I understand it they told israel to stop actions liable to cause genocide and allow more aid in. After which israel carried on regardless. The UN has been exposed as completely useless if the US is against something. Might as well cancel it and use the money for something more useful.
  24. The end of western civilization is too overwhelming for any individual to halt. The way it's going the "enemy" won't even need to fight us. Rome is the example of an empire too rotten to survive and the new masters just walked in and took it. Wasn't hard to do as they were the mercenaries recruited to guard Rome.
  25. It's normal for civilizations to rot from within, and when too rotten they fail. I don't think we are at that stage yet, but getting there.
