Agree with all that, but it doesn't normally affect ordinary citizens. I didn't have to bribe anyone to get a driving license in either the UK or Thailand, and certainly not in NZ.

Perhaps if they paid decent wages they'd get workers to pick the oranges. Far as I can tell it's greedy people that want to exploit illegals that are the problem. They could do like NZ and allow temporary work permits to foreigners to come and pick. We get them from all over, but loads of South Americans, Pacific Islanders and Indians. Is the US incapable of similar?

In NZ the government attempted to remove guns from all citizens. Since then, gun crime among the gangs is higher than it ever was before. I say attempted because they only partially succeeded.

I dispute that MMCC exists, except perhaps as minor localised effects eg London is warmer than the country side in winter as it works like a heat sink. Does anyone believe these days that NATO interventions in the Middle East, North Africa, and South-East Europe were all about human rights and democracy? Agree. Western Europe is currently governed by economic imbeciles, Agree, though I would delete "economic" from the sentence. Post-Soviet Russia was never a threat to Western European nations and in fact sought closer relations with them. Agree. However, western leaders need a boogeyman to justify the economic IMO raping of their economies. If Russia didn't exist it would have to be invented. Post war western nations such as the US and the UK had many ex military politicians that had served in the war. W H Bush was probably the last. They understood what war is. Rubbish. While it may exist to a small degree at high levels in NZ, it certainly does not "permeate" the society. Singapore is well known for being anti corruption. I never had any suggestion of corruption in the UK in my dealings with officialdom, and the same in Thailand, and the Thai embassy in London and the Thai consulate in Auckland. I suggest that your definition of "permeate" is somewhat different from my own.

So what? It's not part of any treaty with the west, and it was part of the S U for many years and the west didn't go to war to save it from Stalin, who killed many thousands more than Putin has. Western propaganda hasn't given me a single valid reason for supporting Ukraine, other than it makes certain Americans very rich. Supporting the Hill Tribes would not cost more than a week or so of what is being spent in Ukraine, and easily supplied through Thailand. They could certainly do with a few of the anti air shoulder fired missiles that America gave to the Afghan resistance. You know, the guys that became the Taliban and supported the man responsible for flying planes into the WTC.
